@therealnightwriter how's he a dumbass? They literally toss every component outside of the harness and drivetrain, which they usually sell off. How hard is it to pull parts off of a car when you don't have to keep track of a single bolt, nut or panel? Not too hard. I can single handedly pull an engine and trans in under 2 hours with hand tools while organizing all plugs, hoses and hardware. Imagine if I had 4 more of me working to strip the rest of the car.
I have to admit, if these cars were RWD I would buy it in a heartbeat. Toyota has stepped their game up when it comes to more "economy" based vehicles. I still think Mazda is kong though because their cars are fun to drive, look good, and they're affordable.
I love your team! It's always fun to see Fredric Aasbo giving it 100% at formula D in that monster of a corolla! It's really interesting to see all the technical build breakdown and tuning videos, it's insanely impressive seeing the team at work and all the beautiful fabrication! Go team Papadakis! :D
I mean they did say they do everything in house, So I don't think they care about that aspect. They wouldn't invest time into something with out knowing the risks.
You guys are awesome, so cool seeing this and what a pleasure watching you work in Monroe! Tough break on that engine swap, but rad seeing you get it done :)
I love Toyota, but they keep trying to make all their cars more sporty. If they simply made their entire line up RWD they would get so much recognition from the young crowd they're trying to target. Can you imagine a RWD Camry or Corolla? That would set them apart from everyone else by a considerable amount. There are benefits of having fwd, but the hearts of young men long for the driving dynamics of RWD.
the could have already been doing it, they have to make two separate CV shafts and one differential anyways. The only difference is the rear differential would require it's own casting instead of sharing one with the transaxle, and then a separate drive shaft. Otherwise it's the same number of bearings, motormounts and bushings. Most of the cars already have a rear subframe or something like it. They can't go back and re-design the cars but "Moving Forward" they could change it up. It would still be cheaper than making AWD cars. They really were on the right track with the Scion FRS and Toyota GT86 or whatever it's called. If today's Corolla, Corolla hatchback and Scion IM were rear wheel drive, that alone would be a major selling point.
No they don't, and the fact that every car maker had to phase out their cheaper rear wheel drive cars proves it. Everyone says they like fun to drive cars but nobody puts their money where their mouth is.
Thank you so much for sharing all this build videos! It really brings your fans closer. And the movie quality is great. Can't wait till this weekend and watch the race!
I love that you guys let us in. And the fact that you make race cars from actual cars. I know the only thing left that’s factory is the unit body shell but it’s inspiring. Tube frame chassis cars like those used in NASCAR just aren’t as entertaining to watch IMO. Great work Papadakis!
You men are living my dream in every way! Keep it up! I love the car! The company's, just every single thing I've seen. You all have my complete respect. Keep living people like myselfs dream !
Great thing about great project with Papadakisracing Team that have ability to links Toyota TRD just making more exciting to watch and learning. All of the technologies available to everyone from computer templates to modifications custom-mades.
When it comes to FD I don't know why I just don't care about the driver but the mechanics and shops behind these type of buils like this Corolla and the New electric Camaro these are just amazing builds man these teams are absolutely amazing
This is so slaughter festy , reminds me very much of a build i did when i took some loony bastards 2nd gen tiburon and mated it to a JDM Evo VIII MR power and drive line.. wish trhis hadd been around when i was doing the build, some good moves in here.
Where have you been for the last twenty or thirty years? You hardly get any RWD cars nowadays except from a minority of manufacturers who don't usually do FWD.
@@TheFabricator03 the concept is simple. Instead of transverse mounted engine and transmission designed for fwd starting from scratch you just mount the new motor classically, with a transmission that has an output shaft facing the rear of the car. Design new drive shaft, get new racing rear diff, design new rear axles. The concept is the easy part lmao
@@thoblet334 It would of been interesting to hear how they went about designing the rear end. Maybe they have designs from a Corolla AWD that they based their suspension and axle design from.
@@TheFabricator03 There's never been an AWD Corolla. They would have probably started with one if there were because it would have had a transmission tunnel from factory.
Very Cool, !! Papa- Racing is was making a GR Corolla 5 years ahead of Toyota, and now a GR-Rav4 before Toyota too !! (Maybe the new GR-Yaris Engine will fit in my 1987 Toyota Pickup 4x4 ? for find a way to Electric boost my truck with a motor and clutch on the fly wheel
Can i get those tires and mags? Kindly include the engine, steering wheel front seats. My corolla is soooo old and has a very low fuel consumption! It's a 2006 model but runs like a 1999 corolla. Btw it's second hand that's why.
Where can i get rockstar stickers that size i'm maybe doing a simmilar paintjob later this year, and is it ok if i use your design? It wont be applied to a toyota corolla, not sure what car yet since i havent bought the project car yet. Thanks!
this video should have been longer, like 5 hours longer...lol
True
Agreed
Like a build series... agreed.
Right
"we can strip down a car in 6 hours"
I mean it's pretty easy if you don't have to give a shit about what happens to the parts you're taking out😂

yea ... u re right
@therealnightwriter but how
it sounds easy until you have to do it XD
you would be surprised how much stuff is in a modern car
@@masonvanderkamp8612 that's why it takes 6 hours, I imagine a car from the 80s takes 2 hours, my 90s shitbox would take 4.
Man I wish I had the knowledge, tools, time and team to do this to my Corolla. Until then, rice life!
For real I would do the same too
Don't forget money
TIM and the Money.
You don't need those things you just need more money 😆
Fwd isnt that bad.

no you wouldn't
we got a corolla 4wd in japan here
gwot why do you say that?
They have one of those its called a gt86
Mazdas have done away with that stuff sadly no more mps
You can never go wrong with Papadakis Racing. The best hands down.

Fantastic editing along with a beautifully built car. This channel deserves more viewers
Drift cars get really banged up all the time, is this thing really hard to repair with all the custom structure stuff?
No. Or, to certain limits. Thats the
thing about metal.. u can shape it, shape it, and shape it again. Repair, recycle and so on
@@koollee metal is easy, but those custom fender and quarter panel kits must be ordered again from TRD , pricey carbon fiber stuff
I mean they did say they do everything in house, So I don't think they care about that aspect. They wouldn't invest time into something with out knowing the risks.
Congratulations to Papadakis Team for this excellent project! The car is amazing! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Greece!
The guy at TRD sounded super excited!
You guys are awesome, so cool seeing this and what a pleasure watching you work in Monroe! Tough break on that engine swap, but rad seeing you get it done :)
You guys should come out with a tv series videos like this extended for 30 minutes as we follow you guys build that would be sweet

GREECE FOR EVERRR, best engineer ! Good job !
Freaking awesome and inspirational. Papa racing is great and fun to watch. I like that he has taught how to this stuff on his channel
Excellent quick breakdown of what you and your guys went through building this car.
Kind of hurts seeing a brand new car stripped down esp seeing somebody kick the side skirt to detach it 😂
And I remember when 4 doors was looked down upon!! Such a nice build!!!
And when exactly was that?

Yup, Rockstar and TRD money :)

I actually like the Corolla batch back Toyota has been making lately
Great art of making car as tool for another artist "Drifter".Hatsoff!
TBH, These guys corrected what's wrong about the corolla these days... 😂
RWD Corolla owner here, #KE70
Love all your video's. Mad respect!
Ток настоящий мужик!!!!! Может дрифт делать на розовом корче👍👍👍
This makes me interested in building a drift car that used to be fwd into a rwd with a 2jz swap
That is actually my plan with a 3G Eclipse im being given
Now I understand, Crazy means Amazing
Brilliant teamwork! Thanks for sharing :)
Awesome craftsmanship u guys, keep on rocking
Awesome that the guy designing the fenders is working in blender!
great job m8
that was pretty sick!!!!!
It’s amazing how thy take stock 4 cylinder engine and make it 1000 hp not like any other usually use LS
Robertas Brikys the only inline 4 banger i know that can reach those figures are usually SR20’s and some 3SGE’s
What about the 4AGE?
damm thats a good shop! great work! my kind of work! Congratulations! RESPECT
mr Papadakis uploads video: first like the video then proceed watching
Beautiful bulid guys !
I hate this generation of corolla for not making it a rear wheel drive...
Where have you been for the last twenty or thirty years?
You hardly get any RWD cars nowadays except from a minority of manufacturers who don't usually do FWD.
Just pretend that Corollas stopped being made in 87.
It such a disrespect for the 86 one of the legendary corolla.
Meh, styling wise, yes, but it's still just a little economy car. Not a special one, just one with a cult following.
The 2020’s are pretty nice
They talked nothing about the engine...Really?
Or how exactly what they did to convert it to RWD.

I want a RWD Corolla Hatchback
Are you gonna build the new Supra this winter or? :)
2020 supra! Its here
The BMW coupe passed off as a supra? Garbage
What a beautifull piece of art
Good team work.
wow..
the new champion..
congratulation..
Fuck I wish I had people like this around me, always seems like people are trash. Making it hard for the community to progress. Like this.
The car community in a whole some people are duche bags I'm noticing its hard to get a hold of people cuz they pretend they are busy but not
Another corolla made to drift good job boys.
such a god of machine you are ...
Amazing video! 10/10
Saya suka dengan sistim pengerjaan nya👌 salam dari indonesia🇮🇩
Just why they have given you the top tier Corolla? Basic version wasn't enough for such kind of build?
Neat, it still has all the doors!
Amazing work 🤩😎
Amazing job! 👏🏻

That's an amazing car !
Berharap suatu saat berada di dalam tim seperti ini 😁
idk how much exactly swapping a drivetrain to rwd would be but id be my dream to buy a new gen corollla and get rwd with maybe 500 hp
Great work
I’m serious on this it’s a good looking car
For some reason when you convert a fwd car to RWD it looks so much better.
Whats the visual difference?

And I have a question: could Fred come to Russia to compete in RDS? Even once? It would be amazing show!
Omg it’s such a cute blue dAily in the beginning 😂
Alex MkvTurbo it's a damn good looking hatch though, if they slapped a turbo on it and tuned the suspension then I would buy it.
1982 escort exp. Ls. T56. Single turbo. Rwd conversion. Coming soon. Look for the vids.
Nice job
What is that that they used as a mold to accurately place the carbon to form the fender flares? What’s the correct terminology for it at least?!
Nice ride
Yall crazy man
How do you choose a car to start with if you are not going to use anything of the stock car?

going to be working for you soon!
absolutely, show us more

I would love to own this exact same car but tuned for grip
people be like "Is this the new AE86"?
So what u guys did with the engines and all?
@PapadakisRacing Will you do a video explaining the conversion of a transverse to longitudinal motor setup?
