    Outstanding! Between her seed knowledge and Jeremy Kichler as a County Agent, and I speak not for others, but my knowledge grows exponentially. As I have said prior, you can rotate them through quarterly and they will never repeat themselves.

    First of all, congratulations to Tracy and her new husband! Great show, as always, but she's "extra great"! Glad y'all are getting into onion plants!! I just might try going back to late fall planting and overwintering. I've been burned before, but the pain has faded! :) Just for the record, onions don't like 8 degrees!

    Always excited!
    I have maybe 40 different channels about gardening and this is one of my favorite and reliable.
    Experience is key.
    People can do all the research and think it's all solved and then give up when it doesnt work..
    I do research every year, always learning something, being as young as I am I would imagine that ppl who search for perfectionism in their garden are miserable.
    Thanks Hoss Family!
    And guest!

    I just got 4 varieties of onions and 2 of cauliflower over the weekend and Twister was 90% sprouted in 3 days! The other cauliflower, Snow Bowl is only 1/3 sprouted on day 6, so I have one winner and one "so-so". Onions are just starting to pop up also on day6

    Always a joy to see Mrs Tracy on your show. She is a great cohost ( but none better than Mrs Shelia of course)I could listen to Tracy talk about seeds till the cows come home. Great show! I got some of that China star cabbage, haven't started it yet but hopefully by this weekend or next. I did get my plethora seeds in my seed trays this week though. I need to get my other onion seeds started. It has turned into fall here in northwest Louisiana like a light switch. Gotta finish getting all my muscadines picked. Practicing my jelly making and canning with them. Thank you Greg and Tracy for a wonderful show!!!

    Broccoli greens are delicious ! They’re my second favorite green to eat . Turnips are my favorite so the broccoli plant gives us a double crop . Cook broccoli greens just like collards or stir fry .

    I’ve said it before, this guest is by far my favorite! I think she should be a returning guest before every season. Knows her business for sure! Had to watch this show twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything the first time.

    I want to try a cool season cover crop in one of my plots this fall. Would the southern curly leaf mustard make a decent cover crop. I want the soil benefits of a cover crop but I would also like some food production. What do you think?

    I have a question. I had planted some yellow crook neck squash this spring. The plant were growing good. They had beautiful blooms on them and they start growing squash from the flowers. They got about 1 inch to 1 1/2 long and then died. Can you tell me what happened?

    • @gardeningwithhoss
      @gardeningwithhoss  3 года назад

      There are a lot of different reason they could have died back. From weather, to disease, bug issues...

    What kind of onion would I plant for SW Missouri? Zone 6B… and WHEN?

    • @gardeningwithhoss
      @gardeningwithhoss  3 года назад

      Since you are in zone 6 you would need to plant a Intermediate day Onion. You want to sow the seeds 6-8 weeks before your first frost.

    for all the showy brassicas out there, i'm impressed with bland looking turnip. only started growing them recently. they crop and grow quickly, even in middle of frost free winter. great company to potato or any veggies. we have white beautiful mild flesh root kind here.
    the best kale i grew but cant find seeds again, was a thick leaf variety that had no curlys for aphids to hide in. the thick leaf and bulky stem cooked up a treat.
