    Thanks to a comment someone made here to this video about Echo changing to a 56v battery system you saved me from buying the 58v version. I see the new one is pre-order only, but looks like they upgraded several things from the original. Thanks for the video on this saw. I was trying to decide between the Echo and the Milwaukee since I already am invested in the Milwaukee battery system, but it looks like the Echo is the better saw so I think I will jump on the new one.

      Yes, I’m so disappointed echo is changing battery systems as I have a few tools of the old 58v, and now I’m going to have to buy all the 56v versions to have the updated system, I’m sure they are making improvements to the product with this change but it would be nice if the old batteries would interchange.

      @@WilliamsonRidge 56v or 58v is just the same, just marketing values. 56v is more correct (as they contain the same number of cells) & I wonder if they are changing for legal reasons.

      Not really familiar with the oleo but from what I can find the oleo is a 12” bar and doesn’t look as well made but again I’m not familiar with the brand, so I would go with the Echo DCS-5000 which is the new version of the CCs-58V

    Looks like Echo is changing to a 56V system because the saw shown in the video has been out of stock w/battery for many months now. Echo USA shows that a new 56V model is coming out in 2022. Model DCS-5000 with an 18" bar.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  3 года назад +2

      Yeah I’ve been hearing they are replacing the 58v with 56v kinda stinks for the folks that have invested in the 58v, from my understanding will not be interchangeable

    • @rossthefiddler5890
      @rossthefiddler5890 2 года назад +1

      In Australia they are marketed as AEG (but still 58v) with the 16"version being here for 5 years at least now (there was a recall on the first lot because of jam protection not always working), but last year they added the 18" version. It looks to be the same chainsaw with a longer bar. I think they may be changing voltage rating for legal reasons (my guess) as 58v is really 56v & the difference is only marketing (same number of cells used). It's interesting if they are also changing compatibility too though, but then again, that might be needed for safety approval status.

    hi. im considering to get an echo battery powered chainsaw. your video shows that this is quite a good model. i have one question though, what is the best way to resharpen the chainsaw blade? what chainsaw blade replacement do you recommend? looking forward to hear your reply. thank you.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  3 года назад +1

      A file seems to be the only option to sharpen the chain right now. it takes a 4.5mm. stihl makes a 2in1 sharpener that works really well but I can’t find it in the correct size, here is a link to the factory replacement chain www.echo-usa.com/Products/Accessories/Cordless-Accessories/Bar-Chain/16-Chain-90PX-Series , hope this info helps, sorry it took so long to get back to you, a lot going on right now, with the ice storm that hit here it’s been a mess. Also at the bottom of that page it has videos of how to adjust chain and sharpen it too.

    Good review. An 18 inch bar would be more versatile. How do you compare this to the Milwaukee?
    So far all the evidence shows me that the EGO 18 inch battery Chainsaw as well as the Greenworks Commercial 18 inch bar are the best battery Chainsaws to date.

    • @WilliamsonRidge

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  3 года назад +2

      I haven’t got to do any head to head comparisons yet but I am leaning towards the echo. It’s not quite as powerful as the Milwaukee but it runs faster, so it has a good balance of speed and power.

    It's the Watt/hour that matters. The 4Amp/Hr 58v chainsaw is more powerful by 16 W/hr.
    BTW, these are marketed as AEG in Australia by the same company, Techronic Industries that also supply the Milwaukee power tools (at least outside of the USA).

    Sawsuppliers is with out a doubt the best place to purchase a a chainsaw as long as your not a brand snob who thinks that it's garbage unless it's husky or Stihl , I have both 50 60 and 70 cc huskies and echos and at the end of the day if I had to sell off all my equipment And I was only allowed to keep two (small and large ) I'm keeping my echo 620p and my 7310 because they both perform as well as their more expensive brethren and because saw suppliers have me hands down the best customer service when I ordered through them I normally prefer to go through my local dealers for equipment but sawsuppliers blew them out of the water in all aspects of service when I ordered my echos through them and like you said once they left the warehouse they were here in a flash
