The beauty of MAZDA is the purity of design. It is a classic look which does not date like the fussy designs of the other makes. I have a 2017 SORENTO which is a great SUV but the newer design is so fussy and the upcoming model is another BOX design. I will be looking at MAZDA when I upgrade.
The bigger screen is vgood, though the touch screen is not needed. My other car is touch screen and i hate it when im doing some changes unlike with the mazda you can do some changes while doing it with ease and can still focus on your driving.
I’ve owned my manual Astina hatch for 4yrs now and I still love throwing the gears. What a shame Mazda didn’t offering atleast one grade with a manual. The 2.5ltr has plenty of punch and it’s fuel economy for a non turbo/hybrid is outstanding. I just did a trip from Orange to Port Macquarie and returned 5.6L/km and got 748ks from the 51L tank. Great review guys and I love the humour in your delivery.
Hate the touchscreen what I like about my 3 is that there no touchscreen takes longer to get used to using the infotainment but you never have fingerprints all over everything.
What I think is, Mazda 3 is one of the most beautiful car on the roads. You see them every now and then, but your eyes would stick to them for longer no matter what. Mazda killed the competition with the sharp appearance and class leading handling with this piece. Zoom zoom all the way!
38,500 plus tax, dealer fee, destination fee, tag fee and a list of other fees likely costing you 43k by the time you are done. Also you mentioned a 2k package that is not included in your 38,500 price
He Mazda 2.5 4 Pot matched to that 6 speed auto is by far the most reliable engine - transmission duet on the planet. From personal experience you can scrub virtually all comparative offerings from all of VW, Audi and Mercedes's and any Mazda will surpass the German marques in terms of driver satisfaction, reliability, price retention and overall quality. Mazda in my humble experience outperformed all other marques in terms of the appeal of its models for the past 2 decades.
At $2.20, that’s 6,800ish L of fuel… at 45L a fill (roughly a full tank) and 1 tank a week (you drive a lot I guess) that’s 2.9 years (almost 3 years) of fill ups before you even do 1 fill up in the Corolla Hybrid to get to the same price. As fuel prices rise this math favour Corolla more and more but $15000 is a lot of cash…

Do you guys not get the Mazda 2.5 Turbo AWD version down there, like we do in the states? The 2.5 Turbo AWD has 250 HP and 320 lb-ft Torque on premium fuel. Shame the Turbo doesn't come with an LSD...and a manual, then it'd be a near perfect hot hatch.
I'm actually looking at buying a demo 2023 Mazda from a Mazda dealership near where I live, except the car has me very confused as to what it is. G25 Evolve Sp, exactly like this one here but 2023, except it has a lot of these "facelift" upgrades mentioned in this car you're reviewing. Wireless charging pad, USB-C charging ports in the arm rest and I think wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, just no touchscreen for the 10.25 inch display... I think. I am so confused, I don't think any other 2023 G25 has these but this one that I'm going to buy does.
@@mochamanii7401 nope, it does not. I don’t have a wireless charger in front of cup holders, and I only have 2x USB A ports in the middle console (under the arm rest), they are not USB-C. The build date of my Mazda 3 will be around March 2023, I picked it up at the end of May 2023.
@@richierich087 I appreciate your reply. I'm looking to pick one up and it was built July this year but still a 2023 model but it actually has these things so I'm quite confused by what it really is
@@mochamanii7401No worries. Mazda refreshed the Mazda 3 around mid-year and the refresh has a bigger screen (which is also a touchscreen when you're not moving), USB-C and wireless charging. There was also a price increase. I would say that the refreshed model is still classed as a 2023 model. Maybe the models manufactured after a certain month this year have had the model year incremented to a 2024 year model. So technically, those extra features were added mid-year refresh (2023) and onwards, if you know what I mean. Just my speculations though, hope that helps.

It’s been RIP for the Corolla and the i30 since this was launched in 2019. This is the best ice car I’ve owned. Before that I owned the gen 3 Mazda 3 (both astina variants), which was also great but the looks never sat right with me. I’ve owned vw, Kia, Opel, Toyota and fiat cars and the Mazda’s beat them all in terms of the mix between driving dynamics, interior quality and reliability. Have subsequently switched to an all Tesla household but still admire the looks everytime I see a gen 4 Mazda 3 around.
Better than a Corolla for sure, pretty much everything is. Better than the i30? If you want a fun car, no. But if you want a daily car, potentially, asuming you have another fun car, this is the perfect companion 🥰

Hi guys thanks for the great update I'm actually looking at buying the mazda 3 2.5 evolve sp soon but is it really worth waiting for the 2024 model I'm in Australia and I'm sure it will be a while before we see it .
Nice review ;-) Btw what is the M3 G25 weight, do you know? And is it going to come into the sedan, too? I have a M6 G25 tourer, but soon the need for a large trunk and rear pax room will be obsolete (new family car will replace it), so I'll be looking into something bit smaller for mostly 1-2 up commuting and weekend trips, and I'm so happy with the G25 in my M6, that actually getting this in M3 sedan would be lovely (yeah, to my taste, the most beautiful cars from Mazda are M6 sedan / M3 sedan / M6 tourer 😀 )
I have a Mazda 3 2021 e skyactiv x and this from the outside looks identical, do you get that engine in Australia? the interior looks pretty much the same as well. And my 0 to 100 time is also 8.1 seconds and that is from a 2.0L engine.
Hard to say, in China, no this version of Mazda can be bought, only the 2023 model, no touch screen, the screen is also the 8 inch version, before it is not said that the touch screen is not added for safety considerations, how come it is added now? To put it bluntly, it's still an excuse to cut back.
Isn't the rear visibility a dealbreaker for a daily driver? It looks sportscar bad. Maybe as a second car, but seriously, is it safe with that small a window? Wish they made a hatchback. This is more like a sports car.
unless it gets better packaging especially inside, drop the msrp by 20% , have better mpg, have working driver's assist and not shit quality assembly ..the mazda 3 is DOA
If they bought the 2.5 turbo version of this to Australia (like in the US) i would of got it, instead I went and got a dealer demo Mazda 6 Atenza :) which has the aforementioned motor.
Some of those features that I dont have in the 2022 version I am fine without for now but in the future that might be a nuisance. Kinda wish I went with 180+hp rather than 155hp. Dont want an automatic though.
From France: Hi, I have a CX-30 AWD but I'm waiting for my new Mazda 3 because I wanted a smaller, lighter car and I wait every day for my dealer to call me to tell me that my Mazda 3 is waiting for me LOL. Above all, take your Mazda with all-wheel drive (AWD) because not only will you consume less fuel by maintaining the trajectories but you will no longer be able to do without it.
Sadly I don't think we'll see the AWD turbo version here. Mazda maybe be the second biggest car manufacturer in terms of sales here but it would be a niche market.
A friend has a MY20 Takami in red. Nice car but expensive to repair paint damages. For the price I would buy an Outlander or Rav4. 2.5L Mazda 3 starts at $43k to over $55k NZD.

Had my turbo PP for a little over a year & I’m absolutely LOVING it!!
Wish you guys could get to try out the 2.5t. I picked one up almost 2 years ago and it's been great.
HAHAHAHA I LOVE YOU GUYS YOU CRACK ME UP! Awesome review guys!
The colour is the most beautiful of any car range... Absolutely beautiful...
Lack of manual is why I bought a different car
In sweden we got manuals for all specs?
@@oliverandersson1991 The australian dealers did not import the MT for models from mid 2023 : (
what's that in mpg?
@@front2427 about 42mpg
Great review you guys as well! - Pierre😊
Thank you ❤️
This has to be the most entertaining, fun and informing car review I've seen! Great job! Definitely worth the subscription!
Best looking car on the road just love Mazda in every way. Would not go back to a Hyundai.
Love the style of your review! Knowledgeable and unassuming!
Great review guys 👊🏻
Side profile has quite an Alfa vibe. Looks great.
Yeah, when you want an Alfa that is actually reliable.
I have both a mazda 3 and corolla hybrid, with fuel hitting 2.20 , its hardly RIP corolla.
Mazda 3 is closer to 30k, while Corolla is pushing mid 45k. The cost gap is enormous.
Until you have to replace the battery, unless you do alot of driving then its definitely worth buying a hybrid..
I was gonna get this or a cx30 until I added a 10" android radio to my 2016 Altima. With 4gig ram 32g memory teathered to my phones wifi hotspot i watch youtube while driving w Big Altima Energy now! Gotta love the temu and the Chinese! Im typing this from my car while watching u on the way to work mate cheers!
I’ve got the EskyactivX 186 cv: fuel consumption diesel style, gasoline performance and driving pleasure
Mazda has a kick-ass turbo , ANYONE who has driven Mazda turbo gets it , it changes the car , some of us demand the power and pure grunt .
We don't get it in the 3 in Aus.
sorry to hear that , no going back from the turbo once you drive it .@@jeremybean-hodges6397
I like the cx90, but the bigger the cars get the further they get from the Mazda 3 design and the 3’s design is perfect
Got a 2014 Mazda 3. Damn I love the manual. Shame they are axing it.
Also the 2.5 l is not available in EU so... double shame.
I absolutely do not like the pulsing front turn signal
I much rather the previous solid, crisp on/off/on/off indicator
Has the Mazda managed to fix a chipping paint problem? This was a pretty big problem, especially with this red soul paint.
I've a 2017 with full LED headlights. I cannot understand why they've gone with halogen sidelights on this model.
I’ve got the G25 GT 2023 auto hatchback. I love it, such a great car 👍
Random question, but does your 3 have a wireless phone charging pad in front of the cupholders, and USB-C chargers in the arm rest?
Will they put a 2.5 turbo engine in the mazda 3? that thing would be flying. probably a contender for a gti
Exists in North America as an AWD! Unfortunately, it will not come to Australia according to Mazda ☹️
It is in America and no it doesn't drive anywhere near as well as a GTI.
@@mharro88 there are tons of videos where mazda 3 smokes GTI on strips. Just pump 98 octane and its a 250HP beast. Lighter wheels + better tyres + stage 1 tune and its killing tuned GTI on the road 8/10
@@waszkreslem9306 why would you want all that when it's a floaty mess , it's not geared for performance. Breaks are shit , chassis is okay but not track ready like a GTI
I think touch screens are over rated so the wheel controller makes it more luxurious for me like higher end cars like audis etc.
I'm totally ok with the touchscreen being available at all times but designed in a way to still use the clickwheel with more ease. There are a couple of things that I use the touchscreen for in android auto but the clickwheel is still better for more stuff.
Sadly the Koreans cannot nail reliability down.
Only down on this car is the piano black, and backseat space (not counting the price, the car is beautiful)
I have the same car 2024 g25 astina but what wasn’t a flex was how the cars exhaust sounds 😂😢
Thank you for the review!! I always loved this car. I'm interested in knowing whether the HUD finally displays turn-by-turn directions when using Maps on Android Auto or Apple CarPlay instead of the car's built-in navigation system.
Super clean design. Awesome performance. ❤
Waiting sedan version of mine delivered in few days. Unfortunate we have only 2.0l. engine here in Indonesia (ridiculous tax for car with engine over 2.0l) though equiped with full options, complete iactive sense & Bose speakers.
seriously the interior on mazdas is so ASYMMETRIC my freaking OCD kicks in everytime I see it, one of my friends has a Mazda 2 2019 and i hate it lol..
The red is drop dead gorgeous, droooool😊.
These two need to discover the Mazda3 Turbo...
When the hell did $40k for a barely base model hatchback become a bargain!?!
Agreed, lol $40k for a Mazda 3
My mid-level 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback cost me $17,500. Now that’s a bargain. These new ones - every video I see calls them a deal, which is crazy.
@@madieroseWelcome to inflation. It is the new norm now

European pricing I think.
Nope they’re closer to Japan than the US down under. No idea.
Insane that 40k is affordable hatchback.

Touch screen is not available in my Mazda 3 2024, tried to find it but simply the option is not available
Is it quiet? Are the plastic panels rattle? Do the rear vents comes with the new facelifted model?
If I could buy a car right now, it’d be the Mazda 3
Thanks for the great review! I am the 5% that got 2016 manual astina new in 2016! But I am going for the 2024 again. I read there's remote start but you brothers did not mention it, do you know if this will be available in Oz? Thanks.
I have the updated astina 2023/24 in Australia but it does not have remote start
@@dotmab Can I ask you which month you bought it?
I was really hoping to wait for the facelift version of the i30 N line to come out in AU. Now that I see this video, I just want to get this one But I'll still wait until you guys do a review on it
You'll be waiting a while for the next i30 Nline - possibly till April-May 2024.
@@RodneyWI have ordered it. I paid a deposit of $1000 and they said the car will be ready by the end of November 2023.
@@Sam-wh8ig Is that the updated version? Most media reports (as recently as last week) have that being delayed for months. However, I can't link to it, as my comments with links keep on disappearing.
@@RodneyW yes it is the face lift version. Im located in Australia perth. I went to the dealer and they told me the vehicle will come out mid October this year and is now taking pre orders. They're not all sktactiv G. There's also Skyactiv X
It’s discontinued in Oz i believe
12:36 I love this duo!! 😂
I have a 21 mazda3. no cylinder deactivation or start stop thank God.
19:14 this is not a good thing btw. It means that the engine will heat unevenly. Scotty Kilmer mentioned this in one of his recent videos
I'm considering this it's actually number one on my shortlist. Any owners here? How's the experience with this one?
I have a Mazda 3 2021 e skyactiv x and this from the outside looks identical, do you get that engine in Australia? the interior looks pretty much the same as well. And my 0 to 100 time is also 8.1 seconds and that is from a 2.0L engine.
Just to know does it still have a cd player ?
Do all models have head up display? Or which models have it ?
Best design. What a beauty!
Hard to say, in China, no this version of Mazda can be bought, only the 2023 model, no touch screen, the screen is also the 8 inch version, before it is not said that the touch screen is not added for safety considerations, how come it is added now? To put it bluntly, it's still an excuse to cut back.
Yay! Touch screen - finally!
I wish mazda made a performance version of this car, kind of what hyundai did with the N brand and the i30.
The turbo version has Awd and a lot of hp and torque. With a repro you could get even more power and torque, it's a big 4cyl, 2.5l is no joke

8:00 caught me severely off guard....
A friend has a MY20 Takami in red. Nice car but expensive to repair paint damages.
For the price I would buy an Outlander or Rav4. 2.5L Mazda 3 starts at $43k to over $55k NZD.
Hi Matt may I ask wt size of the tyres they are fitting onto them ?
