The first pilot was all like, "We pay for all the runway, we use all the runway."
Not a pilot but that looked okay to me. Better than going for a swim at Boston Logan no?
AeroSucre pilot's motto!
That was a hell of a flare. The guys clearly know their bird.
He touched down way early. A company policy I saw said you land on the aiming point or 500 feet beyond or it's an automatic go-around.
A330: I still managed to butter this one 👌
it's not duct tape but speed tape and it's safe to apply it
It's not practical to cut duct tape in those shapes too, easier to do that with speed tape.
i literally yelled at the screen its speed tape not duct tape, costs alot more too, youd think an aviation channel would get that right.🙄
@@thedragonhunter this channel is recently lowering at description standards. It's a shame, I enjoy their content.
Still not flying on an airline called "Scoot." Never happen. 😮
I think the implication is if the airline covers its planes in tape, rather than repainting them, where else are they cutting corners on maintenance?
The OG Dassault Mirage is such a beautiful aircraft.
Isn't it? The F104 Starfighter first flew in 1954, the Mirage in 56 and the Saab Viggen in 67. They're all hot rods of the sky if you ask me.
But far too close for my liking.
It looks a lot like the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger (1953) or the Convair F-106 Delta Dart (1956). The Mirage III (1956) and the other two were landmark aircraft...French engineers are no slouches.
1:46 look at the queue of planes lined up for take off 🤣
That's what happens when Ireland gets hit by remnants of the storms creeping in from the Atlantic.I guess pilots flying Dublin a lot would call it "a bit busy".
P.S. I've had at least 2 landings in Dublin where during the last few seconds I was like "fuck, this is it" but the pilots familiar with this weather are insane pros.
Very very busy airport Dublin surprisingly so ..
Wasn’t a storm, this happened during the week, it was just low visibility. The new runway (although opened nearly 2 years now) is not yet certified for low visibility operations therefore all landings and departures move to the one runway which causes significant delays.
@@shamrocka330 Thanks for the insight! I was wondering why they'd never use the other runway in severe weather, seemed completely bizarre!
Very normal if it’s stormy weather once saw YYZ lined up with almost 25-30 aircraft due to snowy weather
That Aer Lingus had quite an audience for the second landing attempt!
Love the wheelies from the A330 pilot
Yeah, what was that about?
@@mattscarf Amination. That landing was fake as can be.
@@mattscarf failed attempt at Aero-Braking.
AA won’t if they see it. A double whammy to this crew 😬
Obviously landing under windy conditions - probably touched down so close to the threshold due to worry they were going to need the WHOLE runway.
Lufthansa: "Hard landing... go around!"
Ryanair: "Huh? That was butter!"
Visiting Ryanair instructor pilot to Lufthansa crew: See lads! THAT"S how you "stick" a landing!!!
See a Ryanair pilot would never say that… because only YT AV guys use the term “butter”😂
@@PN_48 and Ryanair is the only airline that considers landings like that one, "Normal"
@@CapStar362 Oh! So you’ve flown Ryanair a lot then have you?
@@PN_48 didn't have to, have seen plenty of enough videos to prove how Ryanair handles its landings.
Meanwhile in the cockpit of that 747: "100--30--terrain, pull up!--minus 20..."
🤣 ☠️
"RETARD"
747 hard landing: Remember to always ask the pilot if he's ex-Navy when leaving the plane.
or if he was a prior Ryanair pilot
They’ll be like “oh ya. Never heard that one before.”
By Navy carrier standards that was a VERY SOFT landing.
Never heard these jokes before, great to see the aspiring future comedians out in numbers
Germany doesn't have carriers, so it's less likely a Lufthansa pilot would be ex-Navy
There is no tape on that wing. Those are patches that were repainted a slightly different color grey that are now peeling off and the dark bare composite showing throwing.
Exactly. Not to mention even if there WAS tape, it would be speed tape, never duct tape.
I agree with you - but I see other people saying it's speed tape. to me the darker grey patches look like they've been touched up - not taped. And the black patches are definitely not tape as they're too irregular - as you say it's the composite showing through.
Lots of comments calling it 'speed tape' but I kept looking until I found your comment.
"Repainted a slightly different color grey" makes way more sense and that is even what it looks like.
Duct tape? This aviation channel says it’s duct tape?
😂😂😂
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 welp, 3 Minutes now getting into the Misinformation/Fake News trending
It's so noticeable that the channel itself only 'likes' comments that are friendly to it, and ignores comments that truthfully and accurately point out errors.
@@fluchterschoen I think some of these (if not most) are done by teenage boys.
By the way, I’m gonna “like” your comment. 🤣🤣
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 I liked yours too because you're my cool internet commercial pilot friend!
The landing was perfect!
No he touched down WAYYY too early
Pilot probably thought he was back in the Navy, trying to snag the #3 wire on the carrier deck.
@@starguy2718 I think he caught the 1 wire.
Despite less than ideal conditions, both A330's buttered it...the legend continues. The 747 at LAX....OUCH!! Would love to see the planespotter video of that one.
Its already a hype for the past 3-4 weeks. Can easily be found.
@@dkr91 Airplane videos from LAX has a perfect outside video of it. Just search for 747-8 touch and go.
very easily found, just type in Lufthansa 747 Hard Landing LAX
The ATC of the pilot owning his screw up is also up on VAS Aviation
@@CapStar362 Thanks....I remember seeing that one now, I hadn't connected it to the passenger video from inside the plane

Amazing video
Ryanair on dublin: we are an army!
Thanks for including my scoot video!
I really like the new American Airlines Livery😊
But it was changed in 2013...
@@thatboyiseclipse That IS the American Airlines livery now; American got rid of their Airbus's 330 a few years ago.
No, but i forgot something,
I mean the current American Airlines livery.
USAir had Airbuses mixed into their fleet when AA acquired them whereas AA only had Boeings and McDonnell Douglases that were done in an anodized finish. And since you can’t anodize the skin of an Airbus aircraft the way that you can with Boeing and MD meant that AA had no choice but to change their livery.
Great Channel 🎉
Good. Thanks.
I think im going to like this ep
Nice video!
Great video!
2:13 butter in the storm
NGL, I rewatched that 747 landing a few times!
I'm surprised a "newer" 747-8 would have screens that old school.
I absolutely love Manchester airport 05! Best airport for spotting!
Ironic, that F-15E was landing at RAF Lakenheath, UK, took the same arresting cable one of my F-111's took in 1981 when they and I were stationed there and it had lost the right wheel on takeoff. (F-111F, 73-715). 🙂
Do all USAF fighters have arresting hooks?
I've read more than once ejecting in the pod from an F-111 was a back breaker. Whatever, sounds better than ejecting into the wind at mach. Imagine the early B-47 and F-104 with the downward ejection seat! Better than hitting the tail but still sounds whacked.
Cool! 😉👍
Great videos. The blur before they start, makes me feel like I am missing part of the video.
I hope they still have A330
certaines vidéos,déjà vu mais sympas...good play
Love the wheelies from the A330 pilot!
That is not duct tape. That tape is made specifically for that.

Professional spotting, quality content. Thanks, 3MoA! Well done! 👏
I wonder if the Lufthansa 747 inside video, is from the same hard landing recorded at LAX a few weeks ago by a plane spotting channel!
I remember when American Airlines used to show a live feed of the cockpit for all take-offs and landings. I think they did this for a few months, which is longer than I would have expected pilots to allow. No audio except for aircraft radio.😁
PERFECT
Any landing you can crawl away from is a good one.
I flew in that Scoot 787 from Denpasar to Singapore two weeks ago. Both wings have the same problem.
I’ve never heard of Scoot, and now I know why!
It’s “speed tape”, not “duct tape”. It’s approved for this use, although there’s an excessive amount on this aircraft. Scoot is Singapore airlines’ low-cost subsidiary (similar to Jetstar’s relationship to QANTAS).
@@mikejensen4238it’s not actually duct tape. It’s speed tape. It’s made specifically for airplanes.
@@roscozone8092same with JAL and zip air, and ANA and air Japan
@@roscozone8092 please define "Excessive Amount" - i cant seem to find a regulation pertaining to how much or how little an airline can actually use pertaining to proper usage of speed tape.
Plus, it's not the operator's fault, it's a known issue of paint peeling off 787 wings
These descriptions are so off it could say "plane landing in stormy Daniels"
Don't be worried about the tape as it is very tough and designed for withstanding to several flights.
There is no tape, it's the bare composite showing through
If I was a pilot the driveway at my house would have mini threshold landing stripes at the end and blue lights along the edges.
One hell of a queue of aircraft waiting to go alongside the Aer Lingus landing!
Gotta love the F-35 photobombing the last sequence~
Is that 747-8 very hard Landing video at LAX the same as also a 747 filmed from outside from plane spotters. Th3 Lansing looks the same. The initial very violent impact and then bouncing up and down before the GoAround is initiated?
Kenya airways also have tape on the wings 😂
After a (really) hard landing, I'd like to know the rationale behind going around and potentially hammering the landing gear again - what if something was damaged the first time ? I know that hard landings can lead to a bounce or two - but if it's a long runway , would you not rather just be back on the ground ? When did this start becoming the norm (80's - 90's 🤔) and is it more for heavier commerical aircraft who need a longer runway (I mean, would you do that sort of go-around in a Cessna) ?
First scene - ALMOST? No way. It's a nice landing in windy conditions.
Sadly, no Aerosucre
how long ago was that a330 clip made they were retired around pandemic
The AA [American Airlines] pilot used to fly a P51 on the USS Saratoga in Guadalcanal. He doesn't need much runway.
another great one. thanks
Air Force: oh we had to use an arrestor cable to stop one of our f15 today. That is amazing and absolutely news worthy
NAVY: 😳🙄
Did not know F-15's had tail hooks.
Is it all of them or just some of them?
Love this post showing the good the bad & the ugly excellent footage so thanks 🫣🇬🇧💕
I knew that first clip was Manchester from the birdsong!
Interesting
Dreamliners originally had issues with paint adhering to the wing surfaces because of the mass flex that they encounter...which is normal as they're composite. Since been resolved.
The first landing was not short. It was absolutely a beautiful and closest to perfect Landing,
JCD. … CFI, of landings on Space Shuttle Aircraft
Military pilot here, that was a sweet landing.
1:10 also seems to have landed on the numbers.
3 Minutes of Aviation? More like 2 Minutes and 56 Seconds of Aviation! Gotta change the name of the channel now!
Not thing out of the ordinary on any of these. ,
1:15 „für ihre Sicherheit“ 😂😅
Ahh, the 787 plastic bastard covered in sticking plasters or as we call it in the trade "aluminium speed tape"
1:07 WOW!!!!
The scoot Dreamliner is NOT using duct tape. It’s called speed tape and is perfectly safe! Research people!
Yup! #2, the AVL plane jockeys got that one live as they were spotting at 24R.
747 pilot must be new to it and forgot he was upstairs
Video is 4 seconds short - I feel cheated. 😉
0:26 That American flight celebrated hitting the threshold marker by doing a few wheelies.

That's not tape, it's the shiny metal under where the paint peeled off. Even if it was speed tape (different than duct tape) speed tape can only be used on non-structural parts, the wing is structural, so no tape allowed.
Aerosucre??
"Plane lands too short"
Here, corrected for you: "Plane lands efficiently" 😂
The plane landed way too close to the threshold, that is not considered normal nor a good practice, with transport category aircraft. Not an efficient landing, smooth yes, safe no.
Yes it’s not normal, but it is trained and perfectly safe if correctly planned, briefed and executed. Only runways with 3D /Precision approaches have touchdown markers anyway.
Landing on the piano keys or numbers is fine and sometimes necessary for landing performance. All runways have a clearway before the threshold. Very embarrassing to land on the touchdown marks 300m into the runway and then go off the end!
Also if you look carefully at the edge lights he is not actually that close to the end of the runway, it’s the foreshortening of the zoom lens giving that illusion.
[EASA ATPL, Line Training Captain]
@@chrisstromberg6527 Ok, Karen. But I never said safe, only efficient.
Look at AeroSucre grass cut landings for "too short".
They paid for all the runway......
Can't believe the frogs are still flying the Mirage. What are they good again, a Cessna?
Flew on a Qatar 787 a few months ago, the paint was flaking off the wings like that also. That certainly dont inspire confidence...
The A330 still Buttering the Runway what could be a hard landing!
You never want to be caught Short better to be long! Safer that Way!!🇨🇦😰
I never knew F-15s were installed with arrestor cables..I thought those were there only on aircraft carrier based jets.
1:12 Wasn't that a "training" flight?
Damn.
Those birds are screaming into the mic 🗣️
That's not duct tape, that's aviation or speed tape. This is one of its normal intended uses.
0:43 Duct tape has many uses.
why is it a problem to land at the start of the runway? i don't get it, i would think its better to have a longer distance to land but idk
He landed on the overrun which can be softer than the operational runway, to help stop a plane coming from the other direction, if needed. Also, you notice he didn't use his reverse thrusters until he rolled onto the landing zone, typically 1000 ft from the end, as that could break up the overrun.
@@paulholmes672 If you have a long runway it's just showing off. One good downdraft and you're all screwed, why take the chance?
0:42 dream liner? More like nightmare liner wtf is this one?
I've already decided to never fly again. You don't have to keep trying to convince me.
Don’t watch dashcam videos then. You’ll never leave the house.
It's airports I hate, not flying. Next time there's a family funeral what excuse will you use? Like the stats say, you're in more danger driving to the airport.
@@dicksonfranssen I kinda like airports. People watching and the excitement of travelling.
@@MeppyMan You haven't been to Toronto airport yet. You never know what floor you're on. the staff are all miserable and security groped my 96 year old mother in law. She had a pacemaker so they couldn't scan her. I remember when San Francisco had glassed in smoking rooms. The glass was sticky brown and you smelled like an old shoe just walking by. The people watching is great until someone's spent a few hours drinking before a flight to Thailand. I'll pass on that and take some Zanax. Hey look, the wings really do bend!
@@dicksonfranssen I’ve been to a lot of airports around the world. Not Toronto yet… but I agree that some suck. But I still love the overall experience.
There is nothing wrong with the 787! It is normal to loosen the "scales" on wings made of carbon fiber. It is not unsafe and is provided for in the aircraft manual. Stop alarmism!
Do you know what’s a threshold?😅
I like the clips but sometimes titles are a bit click-baity. The first plane was very close to the end of the runway but did not "land too short". Also, I saw no duct tape. The stuff is good but asking it to hold on at the air speed and temperature of a flight seems ... well ... optimistic. I think we are seeing bare metal.
On the skies, out on the land, or the sea,
you can't go wrong with duck tape, wd-40, and peppermint tea.
