Wrong times two. 1. The little c captain was completely over the top with his "help". All of the non pilots are so jazzed about how quickly he jumped on the throttles so quickly. Yet while he was jumping the gun doing that he missed the First Officers call for Flaps 20, which is the FIRST thing he's supposed to do on a G/A. The is no rush to jam in the throttles like that, particularly if the First Officer already selected TOGA on the throttle switch. If you watch carefully, the FO is selecting TOGA as the captain is jamming in max (or nearly so) thrust. The Auto Throttles are already commanding a programmed amount of thrust for the GA. Besides, the airplane only requires a half a shove to get it flying. Adding too much thrust in a Go Around is a sure way to screw things up. Since he took so long to call positive rate, the gear speed is possibly an issue as are the Flap speeds. Plus, underslung engines produce a lot of pitch up moment and this can really get you in a tight box, particularly with a low altitude level off. He was too busy on the tower frequency. There is no rush to call the tower. The rule is Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. And there is no reason to shout like he was doing. It's distracting and raises the tension in the cockpit for absolutely no reason. And this was not a sim. I won't even address his hand being all over the yoke for all of it. @@boringpolitician

I may be saying something stupid, but please correct me if I'm wrong. The captain of the Boeing 747-400F who performed the go around, from what I saw, is clearly the PF (Pilot Flying) and the first officer is the PM (Pilot Monitoring). However, after the call to perform the go around by ATC, the captain proceeded to go around, as well as retracting the flaps and landing gear. In this situation, these last two tasks should have been performed by the first officer, right? It's just a small detail, but now I'm curious...

To me it looks like the the FO is pf. The captain says "positive rate" and waits for the pf to reply "gear up".

I was on a propeller driven commuter aircraft and we were following a 757. This was when they were relatively new. We got a little too close and yee haa! Our plan was bounced around violently, I thought we had done a barrel roll...LOL. A few weeks later I saw were the FAA had issued a bulletin that any aircraft following a 757 had to maintain a significantly greater distance because they had not realized just how much turbulence they put out.

Looks like they are on approach, so it is during landing. And nothing to worry about, the wing and engines are all designed to move like that.

Shout out to LA Flights Live, and Peter the host....the home of the 'One more plane'. That A380 wake turbulence was impressive, but there was a similar situation on the same stream a few months back that had the second A380 rocking back and forth several times! It was truly wild. As a Paying member of LA Flights live, I invite you to come and hang with Peter (the amazing host) and the rest of us from LAX, and several times a month SFO. Streams are Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays....with surprise streams thrown in. Thanks for reading this....hope to see you there!

can some sensor looks miles ahead and prepare the craft for turbulence, shouldn't be too hard, over a safe place like sea or desert, it could even shoot a conical ice structure that rapidly vaporizes

To get a true idea of how insanely large the wings are on an A380, you need to google around for a pic that shows a human worker standing on one 😮
