The deep thinker and the y would be an awesome 2 board quiver for tree riding in all conditions. Deep Thinker=Prime/Semi Prime conditions (Frostbite edges) The Y=all conditions (underbite edge tech)
I bought the Niche maelstrom half a year ago with your advice and my style in mind and it has been awesome so far. Truly a freeride all mountain quiver.
Burton skeleton key 162 and Nidecker Concept 161 - yeh bit of overlap but the skeleton key is better in crud and powder and the concept carves rails on groomers!
I got a T-Rice pro blunt and an Orca. I was thinking about getting a Jones flagship instead on the Orca, but the guys at my local board shop said "fuck you get an Orca, it's that good". Gotta say I love my two board quiver.
I’m heading out to Utah in mid December and want to travel light this year. I have a lot of boards, and it’s hard to narrow it down, but I’m thinking the 2021 deep thinker and maybe my Orca first run. Staying at Snowbird, but will go out to other resorts. I would like to take another board, but it’s just so much extra.
Thanks for this - some interesting pairings, and FWIW, this shit does work for brands.... just been on the Endeavour website for the first time in years, I now know they do outerwear.... and also know it's cheap as chips right now, nice :-)
I love my flight attendant 162! Is there something I'm missing? Ruined the board in Chile last summer and thinking to replace it with a skeleton key 162. 6'1" 230 park groomer pow hard charger. Would appreciate your thoughts🤘
You think there’s too much overlap between Hovercraft and Archetype? Looking for an all mountain freeride board for pow, trees, and the crust on crust on the ice coast
Hi Avran, I ride a 145 Jones Dream Catcher. Love it but wanting something slight stiffer (but not Flagship stiff). Any recommendations? Was looking at the Nidecker Odyssey...thanks!
@@AngrySnowboarder thx for the respons, but now that i’ve seen you’re review of the BSOD 2021 i’m between the BSOD and the flagship. Pleas help me... 😅
Love this idea of a 2 board free ride quiver. 5’7, 180, Size 8 boot. I was thinking a K2 Instrument in 154 and Salomon Dancehaul in 147. Will these work for me? Thanks
I have a Never Summer Heritage from 2008 (full camber) and looking to add a quiver. I ride freeride/All-mountain and think I've narrowed it down, but would like another opinion. I rode K2's '87 and Party Platter and liked the '87 much better, almost bought it on the spot. For tree riding/powder, what do you recommend: the '87, SuperPig, or Ultra Mind Expander? Or fully reset my quiver with a Jones Flagship?
Last yearv you got me to buy the Maelstrom and loved it, , so this year im looking for a party board for the 2 board quiver. would a warpig or a party platter be just as good as the cool bean, when i have the opportunity to get them as the same price?
The big question is do you want a freestyle party board or a directional party board. Love the Cool Bean and own one, but lets just say it has some limitations and that's where a Party Platter or Warpig comes in. The Warpig is more playful due to the camber profile, while the Party Platter has more pop and is a bit more powerful.
Thanks for these. Top 5 suggestion: boards for tree riding ?
Sushi, Slushslasher, Backslash etc. Pretty much any decent volume shift board by extension.
+1 for slush slasher
Hovercraft

I really liked this top 5… could use an update now that it’s been 3 years!

Great to hear!
Followed your advice last year and got a ‘quiver of one’ nitro dropout and loved it, adding a korua dart this year to vary things up a little
@Frank Lyons +1
Im just very happy that the Superpig is on this list. Just gotta get it one of these days.
Burton skeleton key 162 and Nidecker Concept 161 - yeh bit of overlap but the skeleton key is better in crud and powder and the concept carves rails on groomers!
Haha, my subtitles for this said 'Apron Le Fever!' 🤣🤣🤣
i have the rome ravine paired with rome powder division moontail. it's a good combo and covers about every terrain and snow type at the resorts.
Love the top 5s. Especially this one bc my quiver is maelstrom/warpig/outsiders
Brand new K2 Alchemist is looking pretty lit

The new Coolbean color way is rad
T rice goldmember + salomon derby + ipp harrow has been an enjoyable resort quiver for me 👍
But that's three.
I love my flight attendant 162! Is there something I'm missing? Ruined the board in Chile last summer and thinking to replace it with a skeleton key 162.
6'1" 230 park groomer pow hard charger. Would appreciate your thoughts🤘
There's plenty that board fucking sucks.
What do you think about the SuperPig x SlushSlasher for a 'Party-Charge' combo?
Too much overlap.
Awesome list! Can you make one for Big footed size 12+ overgrown aardvark samsquantches?!
Can you see which boards come in wide?
you mentioned the Capita Kazu... what board would compliment a 154 as a 2 board quiver? Cheers mate love the vids
i've got the Jones Mountain Twin 2020 and the Bataleon CT. Still thinking of adding a short fatty to the Quiver.
Slush Slasher, then you have all your bases covered.
You think there’s too much overlap between Hovercraft and Archetype? Looking for an all mountain freeride board for pow, trees, and the crust on crust on the ice coast
I'd just get a Hovercraft and call it good.
Hi Avran, I ride a 145 Jones Dream Catcher. Love it but wanting something slight stiffer (but not Flagship stiff). Any recommendations? Was looking at the Nidecker Odyssey...thanks!
If you're looking for a more freeride directional board than the Odyssey is solid.
Hey Hey, love You’re reviews! There always spot on. What about the regular flagship and orca, do or don’t? Grtz from Belgium ✌️
Sure.

That's a lot of similar overlap.
Ok. I guess I better choose one or the other. Did I at least get the sizes right?
Have a Yes Optimistic. What would be your rad dad free ride second board? Ride a libTech TRS for family park laps and east coast boiler plate.
I'd probably go with a Libtech EJack knife.
What do you think about adding the Yes PYL?
@@billmalee4694 There's going to be some serious overlap.

If you liked it, you should probably buy it.
Great video! What’s tour beef with the flight attendant though? Genuinely interested, not butt hurt
It rides like shit.
Hey Avran, hope I'm not late for the party. What should I add to my Bataleon CT to cover all bases?
Jones ultra flagship
Bless ya with tons of powder. Thanks for taking the time!
What do you think about a Yes Standard with a Burton Custom Camber?
Seems like some serious overlap and not exactly freeride specific.
Just picked up a 2020 Jackpot on sale. Will the ride of the 2021 be a lot different now that they have gone from 2-4-2 to full Camber ?
It's going to have way more snap.

Ready with the best advise for the snowboarders of the internet even on a 4 month old video, appreciate that!
Hey Avran, you own both the K2 cool bean and Endeavor archetype. When do you choose one over the other?
Low angle days or where I'll rip more carves Cool Bean. All around pow days or deep days Archetype.
Cool that makes sense. Would the Archetype be your board of choice for Cat skiing at Retallack?
Can you review the Stale Crewzer?
Probably.
What's wrong with the ride beserker ?I ride Jones flagship but my son's got the beserker . just wondering?
There was nothing wrong with it, he just got a defected version for the review.
Not even an honorable mention for the Rossignol XV?
No.
Top 5 best short fattys
Kazu’S match? 🤙🏾
I'd go with something short and playful maybe an Orca or a Mc Wayfinder.
Hi.how many board you own
Too many or not enough.
If I got a orca would I ride my hovercraft and flagship still .I dont want to be shelfing them
It would overshadow the Hovercraft but you'd still use the Flagship.
Orca and....?
For a woman or a dude?
Dude?
@@AngrySnowboarder dude
Kate Ramin Capita Kazu

STOP calling the Y poor mans Optimistic for crying out loud.
No.
anything saving me money in this sport is appreciated lol

Lies.
