Judy has one of the gruffest personalities of any of the side characters, but I think everyone should play her quest line just to do that flooded town mission, that was one my personal favourites
The most pragmatic and least psychotic is.... dumdum... and he's Maelstrom and a skiff addict... that should say something about night city.
The first rule of CP2077: Do not. Hurt. Judy.
HAAANK HANK NOOOOO DONT ABBREVIATE CYBERPUNK HAAAAAAANK!
Jackie's mom is best girl.
Mamacita 😫
dont know how u could see Judy text as anything but positive , shes texts u the most which adds more to her character than anyone else , and if v dies judy is the only one who cries for you showing you shes cares for you , even if you dont romance her. And her ending with her and v going to the badlands cannot be topped
JUDY Number 1
(Her ending where shes gets married is none canon to me so what nots canon cant hurt you )
doesn’t matter if the ending is cannon or not, it clearly shows the consequences bro
Leaving night city with Panam tops leaving with Judy. At the end of that mission, Judy tags along as she has nothing to lose in night city anyway. Panam was the one who risked the life of her family/ clan because V asked for her help.
don't fear the reaper > path to glory is the one.
that star ending that every sheep chooses is because they seem to put infinite value on 2 week long relationships. The cure ending of phantom liberty should tell you how much these people really care about V.
@@globaltempest8339 brain that small we have to say why she tagged along as if she had "nothing to lose"? All you're doing is comparing apples to oranges dude.
@ghost_toastie3969 this doesn't refute what he's saying about judy which are all true but panams the same way perhaps worse since shes more of a masculine trauma dumper.
I love that Johnny quote at the end. He's a complete dick, but he's not stupid
At least, she give you Maxtac uniform after diving in Lagoon
Only if you play as female v
When you look at the world through rose colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags…
I don't think Judy was waiting for V to die, just so she can hook up with someone else. However, I do think it's screwed up. That Judy didn't wait for very long. Before moving on, and totally forgetting about V.
The fact she literally leaves NC without as much of even 'goodbye' to male V shows she doesn't really value the friendship despite sharing her key and inviting over 'anytime'
She's self serving, always has been, just as Maiko but at least she did it for practical business reasons.
Well, that's an interesting take. Never thought about it, but I do remember reading those emails on Maiko's computer and thinking to myself that Judy kind of reminded me of my overly jealous ex who'd accuse me of wanting to sleep with pretty much any woman who I interacted with in any way... I can totally see how Judy could be perceived as toxic...
I know I'm taking this too seriously😅, but I still think Judy is not a bad person per se. She has a warped sense of justice where she believes that only her plans could lead to true freedom. She puts others value much higher than her own. Probably even has something to do with her BD-obsession and her having seen many bad things being done to dolls. Her joining the Mox and starting braindances having and a one-sided love (with Evelyn), was her way to cope with her growing feeling that she may never find something that completes her. But she also knows that her decision-making is bad. In a conversation with her she states vaguely but quite clearly that she's aware of her bad decision-making that's one of the few reasons she didn't want to become leader of the mox or a Max-Tac operative. She's a hothead that jumps to conclusions very fast. She's very much aware of that and leaves people because she cares about what they think about her more than what she thinks about herself. Her beef with Maiko was justified though since she was also quite self-centered despite clearly knowing about Judy's personality and issues. She didn't communicate properly with her till the very last 2 mails you can find where judy was already dead-set on not forgiving her. What else happened between them can only be speculated. Anyways, as female V you have almost zero room for error during interactions with her if you wanna date her. And she get's jealous really fast, if you mention any other women (f.e. talking about having to stay the night with Meyers makes her annoyed first, before laughing in disbelief.) But what sets her apart from the real ever-codependent girl is near the end of her dating story. She realizes she made another mistake leading you as an inexpierienced diver into toxic water with a braindance. Her absolute insecurity about every single thing in her entire life shines through during the BD-Connection. She claims that she doesn't hear her own memories despite being directly linked with V leaving virtually no room for lies. Her insecurity goes far and has in recent events always impacted her decisions. She regrets the stuff with Evelyn, Maiko and what she did to the dolls she turned into murder-machines for a selfish goal of revenge. V helped her realize that she turned into the very thing she did not want to be, a selfish despot restricting her own feelings and that of others. That she should stay true to herself and to making the world a better place not for everyone, but herself first. The only time she ever accepted a one-night stand was quite possibly with V that night in the shack. She also tries to change and explore. Her popular phrase "quality over quantity" when you tell her you want to meet more often, is the very first sign of that. She does not give in to conclusions and jealousy immediately and let's V be on her way to tie up loose ends even if it incolves a girl. Even if she messages you frequently and her co-dependent and extreme jealous nature sometimes shines through again, she really tries her best to let go of it and apologize to some extent with gifts and other messages. She has a defining flaw and is the only character that actively works towards bettering herself. She starts to care that her time with V could be limited but her not saying anything about having your back stems from her low confidence in herself. She can't solve the complex issue with your chip and it would make her feel extremely bad not being able to help. She doesn't mention it too because she even chose to ignore it despite V telling her three times before she actually broke down in pain. That is the point where even Judy realized that she may not be able to help, yet she also has/knows no one in her life that could help V. Hence her trying to spend as much time as possible with V while still surpressing her emotionak co-dependent outbursts is a sign that she truly wants stuff to work out wity V. It's her last ditch attempt at having hope in a good life she can spend with the person she cares about and the only person that listens/believes in her unconditionally while she tries to believe in herself too.
But that's just my opinion.😅
i disagree i think she is a bad person. when you reject or choose a different dialogue she immediately wants to leave night city and doesnt even think about her friendship with v. Plus i think shes a psycho too when you reject her and stay and sleep in the cottage you wake up without your clothes. Which is creepy
Panam- I haven't screamed like that since I was 10.
Sure, Panam.. whatever you say.
As someone who’s mostly done the female v route and went to Judy as a romance option I see how as smart as she is her emotional intelligence isn’t as good. She’s a tough case of having her mother who died young and father abandoned her which would explain the dependency relationships, Maiko is her ex girlfriend and we can see for a fact they’re not meant to be around the other the negativity is almost suffocating. Her friendship with Evelyn was good for her but with having seen what her go through so much trauma and ending up killing herself it adds even more to her depressed self and with her judgement being fogged by her emotions her plans are extremely messy and hurts more than it does help. Seeing how she’s had people leave her like nothing then V is gone she’s pretty much given up on anything happening in night city, she’s an example of someone not knowing what she’s doing half the time and doing half baked ideas because she thinks they’re good
Don’t do this to my girl
I was the one who fell deeply into a friggin game character Judy. Judy was too quick to move on and didn’t even try to make a search party for V. I got turned off by that. Now you made a compelling arguments here and it all connect the dots of her being co dependent on relationships and she’s too emotional to handle problems. Like you said, like a teenager.
There's a prevailing theory that these type of alternative lifestyles are rooted in narcissism, which tracks with her (and many other similar) mindset of deflection, scapegoating and refusal to accept responsibility for consequences and learn from their mistakes.
I'm not going to get all politically correct or anti, just stating facts observed these types are very selfish requiring from others what they refuse to give. Their entire identity is based on sexual orientation and self gratification, not only their relationships.
I first played as male V, wanting to finish up side missions before end game I played Pyramid Song, she acted like we were besties and shared her apartment access key, but left town immediately after I left the dock to 'find herself' texting a couple times and I feel this may have been the best choice for her, which ties in well with Phantom Liberty ending. Good for her.
I took her toxicity as opposition to my V being male, due to a glitch I couldn't complete Japan town mission Getting Warmer so I started a new playthrough for trophy and figured I may as well try a different character perspective. Having briefly read some guides to help complete I saw certain choices/collectibles were only available different from my character.
I later played female V and found these same interactions take very different meaning and saw much of what you've stated in this video. She is definitely not a great romance option unless you have a savior complex and 'need' to help her get inner healing lol
Panam as another example is emotional, impulsive and makes rash decisions... but accepts responsibility and learns.
She's exactly like many of my female friends, she's a real one, supportive and there for you when you need her to be.
Neither are perfect, but life is a process in maturing.
As a human from the earliest 2000´s I don´t advice anyone to romance someone from the 2070´s in the most materialistic city.
I never saw the mails on Maiko's computer - they do give a whole lot more context.
There's SO MUCH in the game that's still undiscovered, it's a shame channels dedicated to finding all the fun easter eggs are switching to other content or sadly retiring from YT content.
Takes a year to get married huh? Assuming a big old production of a wedding maybe. A trip to the courthouse to get married? Less than a month. In the future timeline on CP 2077 and the instant gratification mindset, I doubt average peeps have the money or patience to do the whole extravaganza.
Still waiting for the explanation of Judy being toxic 😂 meantime, Panam is just being the most toxic character in the history of gaming, closely followed by Yennefer. I guess, someone in CDPR has an issue with women.
Nobody puts Judy in a corner
Why can I only hear vexelstrom through all the speakers? It's very annoying hearing different stations one from the speakers and the radio.
Yell at the neighbors, you don't like their music 🤣
It's like we have option to romance Aurore Cassel at all
Next: Panam
As if there is something normal in this dystopia...
Fake promises, fake friendships, fake...relationships...
And for the ex-Corpo babe... (Maiko Maeda)
You shouldn't give her as an example at all.
If it wasn't for the ending of the mission I would have put a bullet between her eyes.
With such disgusting people, I too would become... "unstable"
By the way...
It was interesting to watch the video and your perspective.
This is one of my favorite games.
Oh you have a crush on the side character Rita Wheeler too? How is that. She is a loudmouth but so likable.
Rita wheeler is the one who got away. And V knows it
There's a mod for that, go to Nexus and ask for Deceptious 😏
Rita really is the one.
Panam was a ride-or-die kind of girl, I like her a lot!
I hate when people pit Judy and Panam against each other 🙂
Right? Each are fine options for whatever your personal choice is for V. Though River is pretty limited compared.
*shrugs* least she isn't a cop. Sorry but that bumps river to the #0 spot for sure
great video mate
This is why I wish we could have a relationship with Panam as a female V. She's the one person of the four romance choices who actually seems to care about you and would do anything to find a cure. River's too underdeveloped; so is Kerry. Judy, sadly, is a broken woman who chases ideas in the hope that success will make her feel complete
I had the same wish. I found the Female V - Judy romance Mod.
i love how everybody has been in this debate while i dont care cause i never did a female run 😂
Same, idt I would be as immersed if I did a female run.
@@antthomas7916 this + female v voice acting is ear cancer
The majority that choose Judy are terminally online 'nonbinary' playing as female V to satisfy some kink of controlling or becoming a woman, and love the 'diversity' of a lesbian romance as wet dream. I've not seen nearly any obsession over male V and Kerry for example which ticks the same boxes, nor mods for Panam as there are for Judy + V. This shows preference.
One of the few I've seen for Panam for example, the creator says they couldn't test it as they didn't have a save romacing Panam... as if the site didn't have 50 saves uploaded specifically for the romance scene lol
The choice to play as female, a masculinized 'tough' female at that, choosing to romance a stereotypical 'tough girl' lesbian showcases latent closeted homosexuality honestly.
I could write more but I've already written too much 🤣
For the love of judy. Don't hate
Yeah that's the general impression I got from Judy due to her coe dependency and just being immature but I don't necessarily hate her as a character. Even if she cared for V, the relationship probably wouldn't have lasted long due to Judy's behavior potentially causing problems between them.
With Panam at least, V knows shes loyal and truly cares about you regardless if your her friend or partner as seen with her actions. Its unfortunate that Panam isn't bisexual because I think would be perfect for female V as well as they do have good chemistry.
Overall I don't see alot of people criticizing Judy as a character, so this was an insightful video for sure.
Don’t say negative things about Judy bc we won’t stand for it🤪
Seriously though, having only 4 romance option is a bit lame tbh. Imagine if we could romance So Mi in PL (and I really wanted this)the endings would have been much more impactful. Or even the French girl. I love the the game but romance is a lacklustre.😔
Wait, there weren't male characters in PL? I really should buy it and play... 🤔 j/k
4 options is fine, the game isn't a romance simulation, there's story they've told and this is just dressing.
Okay thank god someone said it. The fact that Tom and Roxanne have to die/be near death along with Clouds being retaken for us to sleep with her is fucked. Id rather settle things diplomatically with Maiko and noone dies, but god forbid Judy doesnt get her empty revenge.
They don't have to, you just need to not accept Maiko's money
@@mortache ah word. Eh my feelings still stands tho
Everyone is biased by their own experiences, you cannot expect Judy to just take you at face value and instantly obey, she is not toxic, she is a product of Night City and the way of life there.
Judy is the best romance option and it's not even close.
Facts. Judy is goated and one of the best characters in the whole game.
I agree with your assessment. I always felt something was amiss in the relationship with Judy, and now that you broke it down I know why. Panam was my favorite from the start, you can tell she actually cares about YOU(or V as it were). That’s how a good relationship is supposed to feel. Not like Judy’s insecure ramblings and having to constantly affirm her feelings and actions.
I love judy’s character but your so right
She’s the worst… and the best…
@@TK_Trickster couldnt agree more
Yeah, she frustrated me too with the interactions with her in the game. She probably wouldn't even think about you if there was someone else to help her with Evelyn. That tells me that there was literally no one else in her life she could depend on, especially when you were the first person she called after Evelyn died. We just met!! Even Maiko saw that she's running based on emotion alone with that stupid plan to 'liberate' Clouds.
Panam stuck her neck out for you for Hellman, even though it cost her quite a few Aldecaldos. Even honored her word at the end because when you finally found Hellman, she volunteered to keep going despite injuries. I didn't explore too much in the Aldecaldos camp cos I felt some respect for their privacy so I didn't manage to dig into her past. Yeah, the left a good impression on me and this is coming from someone who breaks into NPCs' houses for loot.
Then we have the more hidden love interests, the guys.
Unless you bothered to entertain Johnny, you won't meet Kerry. You help him through his current problems and in the end if you romance him, he gets both you and Johnny XD. Outside of that, his missions gives you a glimpse into CP2077's celebrity life which is kind of cool and novel.
Lastly, River Ward. I wasn't expecting him to be a romance option to be honest. I just thought it was a look into what kind of unique crime could happen in that world with all that technology. His mission left me with a sense of hope in a bleak city like Night City at least. He tries to make the best of what he's got as a detective(not a regular street cop) and an uncle.
Me the one who Romanced Judy as Male V through mods.
I wish Songbird was in main game. Not in DLC😭
Man of culture 🤣
I think I need to check my pulse...most people very pro Judy. Judy is one of the most evil (snake in the grass type) people in Night City . She is an emotional train wreck. Her attitude of "helping" people is not for the people/person in question, but to run away from her issues.
Good to see you caught when Judy makes her move on Valerie. Right after rescue of Evelyn she see Evelyn as a lost cause. Something even straight women would do if their man is say, lost a limb or two in a war, then sees her man as less than a man and walks from the relationship.
Judy transfer her emotions to Valerie. as you say. It gets even darker. I would imagine Judy looking up Johnny's past after Valerie mentions his construct on the chip, and finds Johnny is quite the womanizer, and concludes, it may have an affect on Valerie, so she pushes. After all Valerie does not know Judy in depth at all, and Judy knows it. Complication would be Valerie is a straight woman (based on her talks with River, Valerie dating history is with only men, and only in love with a man), so how does Judy increases her chance with Valerie. Well, that dive actually. First the linking of thoughts and emotion, (which will be strong Judy admits). Judy, wanted the right person "...with just some rando", even though Judy does have friends who are happy to be her lab rats... like Tom. The other point is only after Valerie succumbs to her conditioning and gets a text from Judy almost admitting complete emotional manipulation. Judy tells Valerie their emotion track is the same and need not tuning.... wait a minute, even if Valeria was into this, they should be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT due to being two different women.
The last point, if the player has Valerie resist her conditioning, rejecting Judy's advances, Judy completely abandons the project all together.... and runs away from Night City
I'm surprised the comments aren't filled with raging after you mention V's dating past 🤣 Probably TLDR
Or during E3 showcase she has some dude leaving her bed. Fem V lesbian = canon.
@@A2theC I have to agree. I was expecting some push back. As for Valerie from what I heard/read it is up to the player.
I DIDN'T like Judy's romance, it's very true that she doesn't listen much and sometimes she can't see the big picture of things and makes bad decisions, I preferred Panam and I admit it, but most of the things you complained about don't make sense.
Panam's already figured things out and has better things to do than tetx you? Good for her! She's actually really lucky, most people have real issues with finding their own path or dealing with loneliness. Judy has her work but V is important too, so she goes out of her way to text, that's just who she is, some people text a lot and others don't.
Who wouldn't be a little bit hurt if your partner, which always replies to your texts, didn't reply for days? Just because she didn't say out loud she was worried doesn't imply she wasn't. Also, she said lots of times that V's work worries her because it's dangerous af.
Isn't it obvious that a a lesbian will put a rainbow flag on a dating app? MAYBE she doesn't want to be bothered by men. Just sayin'. How is this conforming?
Also thanks for the bi erasure (V is potentially bisexual lol), she didn't have to find another lesbian, just a woman willing to love her and vice versa. Sapphic women have the tendency to move together REALLY fast, that's a well known meme but also very true. Was I sad to know that she was able to move on this fast? Yeah, but shit happens, you can't really judge her because she's trying to be happy and starting a new life, but no, you did have to imply she's a cheater just because, it's obvious you have some bias here.
One last thing: you know you CAN help someone get out of codipendency and it doesn't imply there's no love involved, right? People can grow together, you don't need to find someone that's already perfect, doesn't even exist. If someone has issues and you are willing to love them anyway it doesn't mean you accept things as they are. With Judy, you just didn't have enough time and I think it's a pretty normal reaction of her to be prepared for your eventual passing, she doesn't know how to help you and she'll be all alone again once you're gone. Also, just a reminder that most of mercs die young in NC and she's worried af because that's your current job and could die even before Johnny takes over.
Well said
You forgot to mention the passive-aggressive comments if you're playing the male version of V
A lot of people will casually ignore your disclaimer at the beginning of the video I am certain lol
But gotta hand it to you, just about everything you said tracks. You have a very entertaining way of breaking this game down and ZERO fear to be yourself and speak your mind - NEVER change TK!
Thanks for the awesome support! 😂🙌
very Based take
judy is the worst 🤮🤮
I mean let's be honest. There is only one reason why you should not romance her. Her voice acting in English is awful. Thankfully I played with Polish voices.
She is annoying 😅
Virgin cyberpunk was best cyberpunk
