I’m not that surprised that it started. As long as you have compression, fuel, and ignition you can get an engine to run on 1/2 it’s cylinders. How long it will run before seizing up is another story. No oil pressure, no coolant, it wouldn’t take long. I’ve witnessed a few worn out engines being beaten to death. My buddy used to have a wall of shame with some parts from them. You’d be surprised how badly gone an engine can be and still run.
Very cool video and like was said earlier the forensics on the engine post shot is incredible, I wish they had not tried starting the engine after the shot and just opened it up so we could see exactly what the bullet did and not the increased damage from the restart! Very interesting!
I've wanting to see a video just like this for next to forever. Like my Uncle would say, "a small-block Chevy will run like shit longer than most engines will run at all."
Freaking Chevy's man, small block V8 took a HEIAP (High Explosive Incendiary/Armor Piercing) round right to the block, and was STILL able to start haha gotta love the .50
You sir have a new sub great shot, great vid great content. Showing the engine ran after being shot was a surprise, seeing the damage it suffered was fantastic
+harrison james Hey thanks a lot for the comment. Makes me feel like I’m on the right track. If ya could share my video for me and please check out my others. RUclips is a hard one to get going, that’s for sure. Thanks again
If one of those shots had hit in the traveled portion of a piston in its cylinder she would have locked up tight. Anyway great vid. Combined my love of guns and autos!
@@GoingBallistic Yeah , but stalled when it got shoot ... Not a good thing, to stop a vehicle in a middle of a shootout . I guess there is no such thing as a bulletproof engine. My friend also told me that a wet sandbag can stop a .50 call AP better than a 2 inch steel plate , and is more cheaper . Is it true ?
@@GoingBallistic It's what we were told in the army anyway :p That and car tires filled with sand should be pretty good, though not foolproof. Entrenched positions like that only need more bullets to sorta grind out the sand lol. Anyway looking forward to that video!
Hello from New Zealand. Thank you for your videos. It is just amazing to see the power for those rounds and also how that engine would turn over and keep going. Again thank you for the videos keep it up guys. P.S I'm sure you get it a lot but have you guys got plans to upgrade your slow motion camera equipment? It would be amazing to see what is happening on moment of impact. Cheers Jesse
Lol hello again sorry. I just realized when this was shot. You already have upgraded your hi speed cameras. Sorry to nag like an old woman. Keep up the great work guys!
did we feel that for all these years, everyone who claimed a 50 cal would kill an engine block was prone to lies??? well I am truely glad we put that myth to rest.
Hello, the water in the engine drowned it out😔 We made another video today shooting a running 6 cyl with no water and they went off. New video will be out next week👍
Ive seen a video once where they dump the oil outta both a Chevy and a Ford. and then ran them at wide open throttle. And they had done it 5 times. And the Ford won it 4 times in a row. It's a RUclips channel so any one can watch. But they all make a good one every now and then.
I'm not a Chevy guy but Daaayyyuuummm! I'll give the nod to that stuff SUMBITCH after seeing that! The REAL question is can you weld up that block and git 'er back on the road again? Not much of a "Man" if you can't! LMMFAO!!! JK. Nothing to disparage your Manly Essence, Sir. But you CAN'T kill a Ford Engine, just so you know. LMAO
Watch the video (I can't remember if it was before or after this one) but it shows just how bad of shape this engine was in. Paint always makes things look good.
Finally someone who breaks down the engine you shot so we can see the damage! Not enough people go to this detail which I love
Thanks👍 we just shot a running 6 cyl engine. Check that video out when you get a chance
Going Ballistic yep subscribed after this came up in my suggestions. Enjoyed that one to! Any plans to try higher calibres like 14.5 or 20mm?
I don't know what I liked more. The damage the round did, or the fact the engine still ran...
+Jason Doornink
Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching.
I was surprised it started as well.
I couldn’t believe it started! 😆😆
Me too, I never thought it would start either.
Of course it started. It's a Chevy.
@@13BGunBunny ford blocks are harder but that might even have more damage

@@johnallyn5713 it depends on the block. There isnt a set block for either brand.
Yer gonna need two tubes of Bars Leaks and outhouse fulla JB Weld.
It’ll be fine. It’s all good.
I would LOVE to see the same kind of shot down to a running radial engine. Those are supposed to be more resistant to battle damage.
Very cool video and like was said earlier the forensics on the engine post shot is incredible, I wish they had not tried starting the engine after the shot and just opened it up so we could see exactly what the bullet did and not the increased damage from the restart! Very interesting!
It's a Chevy, a little Duct tape and some bailing wire and it will be good as new!! Love them small blocks!! Awesome video!!
I am amazed it stopped it with one shot and after he stripped it down I am even more amazed that it started afterwards.
I’m astounded that the engine actually ran with all of the internal damage.
I've wanting to see a video just like this for next to forever. Like my Uncle would say, "a small-block Chevy will run like shit longer than most engines will run at all."

Thanks for watching my video. I was pretty surprised when it fired up.

Cool, welcome 👍
That was so cool. I’ve got a .50. Now I just need a really good friend to loan me an engine!!!
one of the best videos on the TUBE! you deserve way more views and followers!!!

RUclips is a hard one to get going, that’s for sure.
Thanks again
He does but yet some kid on RUclips who destroys brand new 100k trucks has almost 900k subscribers. Go figure.
That was freaking pure awesomeness, I can’t believe it started up you’re the man, STAY STRONG!!! 👍👍💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
👍👍
This reminds me of another video I saw where it took two .50 rounds to stop a running f150 engine. Ford & Chevy 👍
+Phil From Florida I was looking for a ford engine to shoot but I couldn’t find one😞
I’m not surprised that it started. I’ve seen videos of engines with blown connecting rods through the side and they were still running.
I like the shirt!
Mate that was AWESOME!!!!
A costly little venture. Thank you.
Thank you👍
Oil fill on front of intake means thats an early small block as in 55 56 57. It should also have un even valve cover bolt holes.
Yes it was a 57
That was so cool!
Thanks for putting in the hard yards!!
Thanks 👍
If your having car problems, i feel bad for you son. I got a 76 Chevy and that bitch still run.
well, sir... that was outstanding! !!!! thanks for a fun video!
+loud american thanks for the comment. 👍
I was so joyful when it started
Chevy like a Rock
Got to love those Chevy V8's!!!
These are made in my hometown, Raufoss, Norway. Nice video!
+Erstad Thanks for the comment, I would love to visit Norway some day.
Raufoss represent!
Nice to see a chevy being put to good use!!
For sure LOL
Some of the internal damage was caused by restarting the engine

Thanks👍
That was awesome!!!! Thank god I didn't pay for it. Will you be stepping your game up to 40mm HEDP? same tests?
Thanks for the comment. As soon as we get out explosive ordnance license we will
Smokin !
no f***in way! that thing started up after getting hit with a .50!!!!!!! Chevy, give this man a commercial
Thanks LOL 😂 👍👍
Nothing like a heavy chevy
Thanks 👍
Awesome Chris! Nice shooting and great camera work!
Raufoss rounds are twice as hot as regular.50 cal rounds 💥
I couldn't believe you did most of this in portrait mode with the phone up and down instead wide screen.
I know, now idea what I was doing back then. Check out our new video where we shoot a straight 6 running👍
top of the screen
Top Clip , thank you.
Thanks 👍
I feel like I just watched a live leak video where a dude got his brains blown out.
A friend told me to use a Chevy engine for my project , he said that it's bulletproof.
I guess he lied.
Friends these days ...

I remember our 1st SGT saying a 50 cal will penetrate 6ft of sand..
Awesome video!!!!!
Thanks👍
I think water may be getting in the oil.
LOL, I cant believe that thing started
KOOL THANK YOU.
This video made me cry I need that engine 😢😢😢😅😂😂
You should watch the video of just how rusted this engine was. The paint made it look pretty.

wow Great Video ! Definitely an engine stopper still!
+Mahmoud badran thanks very much for the comment, please pass my channel around.😬
If there was any actual load on that motor with such a well placed shot, I'm sure the block would've been torn to shreds.
Thanks for the comment
I hope you collected the liquids.
did we feel that for all these years, everyone who claimed a 50 cal would kill an engine block was prone to lies??? well I am truely glad we put that myth to rest.
Lol, great comment 👍
Good thing it wasn't a Ford. The thing would have blown up on its own before you chambered the round.
kimmer6 No it wouldn’t! Probably couldn’t keep it running long enough to get back to his rifle. 😂
werent raufoss rounds incendiary? why didnt it go off?
Hello, the water in the engine drowned it out😔
We made another video today shooting a running 6 cyl with no water and they went off. New video will be out next week👍
Would have been really interesting to see a hit to the crankshaft at street RPM and under load
Shot with the deadliest rifle round on the planet and it still keeps going
What on gods green earth just happened?! That Chevy motor ran after a ralfus round destroyed it!?
I think the term Act of God was first used the first time somebody saw a mk211 mod 0 round in action..
I love them rounds (if you can’t tell) 😬
I would have thought you would aim for the crankshaft.
That's cool thanks

Yes it is
Bit of JB weld and that engine is good to go....
Did you pick up the oil that landed in the dirt?
Nice t-shirt!

is that part of the bullet at 2:31?
That was critical hit.
Really impressive, thanks for sharing.
Your welcome, thanks for the comment
Soon out on craigslist, working chevy 350 recently inspected. Only $1,000
That shirt is fkin awesome
+themonolithian Thanks for the comment.
That would have bounced off a Mopar.
Likes for the chev.
That motor looks really nice why shoot it?
You need to watch part 1.
Kinda wish he would have shot it from the front, but cool video
YOU CAN'T KILL A CHEVROLET ! ! !
👍
You don't have to because eventually it will kill itself.
19 people are Chevy small block fans and are not happy
You need to start with smaller rounds to build up to the BMG otherwise the video is over too quickly!
What is written in your t shirt
I'm not a Chevy guy but Daaayyyuuummm! I'll give the nod to that stuff SUMBITCH after seeing that!

A good Fram oil filter will handle all that debris no problem
Right
Yeah sure it will
SUBSCRIBED..!
Sweet 👍
I want a 305 for my 2000 chevy S10.
A subaru engine would of broke before the gun even fired! lol
Lol 😂
When you shoot a 350, but you crank it up anyhow….
2:04 Welch plugs are outta here.

Chevy rules
Should of used a Ford or Dodge. Wait a minute you were wanting a motor that would still start after.🤣
+Sticky Granada OMG now that was funny 😆
That's pretty funny. You might enjoy these too!

Only a Chevy engine would still Run after getting Hit with a 50 BMG!!!!
Now we know Chevy isn't bulletproof
👍
Probably couldn't find a running Ford engine. And so it begins.
Watch the video (I can't remember if it was before or after this one) but it shows just how bad of shape this engine was in. Paint always makes things look good.
Now patch it up real cheap and shoot it again running the remaining cylinders
Lol,
Why? Why not!!! :)
+fourtraxer cuz no one else has done a video like this.
So help me make this video take off. Share with 4 million of your closest friends 👍
Yeah baby let's see your Ford or your Dodge do that
Right, I’ve been looking for a ford engine to destroy 😁
Shoulda done rite and shot a Dodge engine. Probably wouldn’t be able to find a Dodge engine that would run long enough to shoot anyways.
Small exhaust leak
If it was a Ford it would of just bounced off
This is depressing to watch lol
At least it was a junk motor with pretty paint.😬
