"Girl", "Devil's Plaything", "Until You Call On the Dark", "Soul on Fire", "Killer Wolf", "Possession", "Heart of the Devil", "Brand New God", "Bringer of Death", and "Blood and Tears" , just a few off the top of my head.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing Going Down to Die. That song means a lot to me. It was the only song i could remember when i went to the psych ward. Idk why its just a beautiful song that helped me hang on. Danzig is great at bringing out beauty in the darkest of times. Love your reactions.
so many reacters shy away from Danzig. I appreciate this! throw in some type o- after 'how the gods kill', of course. Yes, Danzig was in The Misfits. it's like horror punk.
Ya glen was original horror punk with his creation “misfits” after leaving and creating Samhain and shortly after creating Danzig. Danzig’s first album is what describes him best, second was a more take to soul after his idol Elvis and the third was new “inspiration” while his fourth many would say was a fail but has many gems in my opinion, after that he faded while loosing his power on his voice I guess.
Just discovered your channel and loving it so much! Going down this Danzig/ Misfits rabbit hole on your channel now and cant bring myself to bed yet. Thank you!
Vocally, I've always considered Danzig to be more blues than anything else. But he's a genius at what he does. The only album he's done that I've never gotten around to picking up was Black Aria ll.
Totally looking forward to you doing more Danzig! I second every suggestion in the previous comments .. You can't go wrong with any of them. My contribution to the suggestions is "Do You Wear the Mark?" off their 3rd album How the Gods Kill.
The whole Lucifuge album is great. Really bluesy. The first three songs (this is the second) are mixed to blend into each other. How the Gods Kill is great, but this is probably my favorite Danzig album. Long Way Back From Hell or Her Black Wings would be great to react to as well.
i cried and screamed and felt deeply connected to my baboon ancestors during the 'going...' ;D such a joy in lament! it is from album 4p inside the album cover there is a photo of the precident Clinton and FBI agents shaking hands while the band members are standing in open coffins, reminding captured trophy animals. Damn it, when the '4' came out, i was 14, and i lifted it from local supermarket. This song has a deep meaning and it is part of my lifestory, tragically. It tells me a story of someone who perhaps realizes something too early and turns his back on people. Love and respect from Finland!
Megadeth , thin lizzy now danzig ! Noice . Yeah he's got a soulfulness to his voice . Alot of people think he's from the south instead of new Jersey . And yeah danzig founded the misfits 77-82 then had a band called Samhain that was kinda half punk half metal . after 3 records he went full metal and changed the name to Danzig .
My buddie and I bought this on cassette the day it came out, ate a bunch of Acid and drove around with this playing for 12 hours straight through the mountains of WV. Man, to live those days again. Sorry for the drug reference, but very true story, and just remembering when it came out.... lol...
New here, I love your Danzig reactions! Please give these a listen- end of time, her black wing, girl, do you wear the mark, I don’t mind the pain and stalker song
I’m sure someone has said already but yeah, Danzig was the lead singer of a great punk band - The Misfits , and another group called, Samhain, as well. \,,/
Back a year later to watch again. Love the reaction! If you ever get a chance listen to Less than zero a.k.a me and you. Dont have to react, just a great example of his vocal range in a different setting. It was originally written for Roy Orbison, but he wasnt able to perform the song so Danzig took over with a different band.
My ex husband can't listen to this song since he played it a lot when he had to put his dog down. A dog he had to put town like 10 years before he met me. And now our son is 12..... he's still crying about a dog he put down over 25 years ago.
Son of the morning star, stalker song a must, being friends with glen seen him writing in front of me there’s a lot also my band opened for the Misfits in Europe 😎🎸✨
the band really had a blues feel to them. it was way better listening to danzig solo than with the misfits imo. but nothing wrong with the misfits. but danzig was so much more.
Back when I was a kid listening to Snakes of Christ, it took me a bit to think about what this song meant (probably because I was just too busy enjoying the music and the edginess). I concluded that this song talks about how all the biblical "evil" is an inside job, and exists according to the biblical God's design. In other words, the bible doesn't even agree with its own narrative... if there was only God in the beginning, and God is only good and omnipotent and omniscient, and God made all, then how could evil ever exist without God's hand in the matter? The only way for it to *not* be nonsense is if evil were made by God... which means all this time he's been playing both sides. He made the disease and is selling the cure for the low low price of eternal worship... the cosmic pinnacle of manipulative narcissism. Good thing it's just fiction. The overall life message is to not trust those who present themselves as saviors. Most of the time it's just a hustle.
Not too bad. Despite coming out in the 90s this shit sounds like it could have come out in like 1976 or something because of his voice. Almost like he would have been a good replacement for Jim Morrison in The Doors haha.
T, Lucifuge is my favorite album ever. It's heavy with an Elvis vibe. But I know I'm going down to die is on How the Gods Kill. Still good stuff! Love this band!
Danzig (or John Christ?) had borrowed this riff from a band called The Dictators: ruclips.net/video/NpSvQSfAHnM/видео.html Metallica had borrowed a riff from "Snakes of Christ": ruclips.net/video/KxZv56mTz1g/видео.html
YEAH IT IS!!! My friend used to DJ at a strip club & i got him to play that song. Imagine the hottest Blonde Girls Ever Slow Grinding To That.....It'll CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!! It Changed Mine!
His vocal power on' BODIES ' really show his range, check it out.
That song goes hard af
I concur, love that tune man.
Damn that singer invoking some serious Jim Morrison!
There's a fair bit of Howlin' Wolf in there too.
Check out The Tea Party if you want to see Jim Morrison version 2.0
I like how the song has a 1950s tempo and feel too it
Awesome! Anything off the first 4 records.
He did that kind of industrial sound for danzig 5 but 6 and 7 were great and there's great spngs on the handful of records that followed those .
@@ronpaul1082 Im with you on that. Danzig 5 has some great songs. 6 is awesome. 7 im kindof ify on. But the first 4 are untouchable.
Amen to that

Aye!
Classic album. I used to say Danzig was like having AC/DC with Jim Morrison of the Doors as a vocalist
I hear more Black Sabbath influence in Danzig's music, not so much AC/DC
I think he sounds more like Elvis, and I wish I could hear Elvis sing it.
Ha ha!!!
Cant believe someone agrees!!!
"Girl", "Devil's Plaything", "Until You Call On the Dark", "Soul on Fire", "Killer Wolf", "Possession", "Heart of the Devil", "Brand New God", "Bringer of Death", and "Blood and Tears" , just a few off the top of my head.
Great tunes
Danzig was an original member of the Misfits. That's the punk influence.
He was the founder. Not just an original member.
@@captainspaulding682 got that right.
Also known as the "Evil Elvis"
His whole How the God's Kill album is fire
Going down to die is one of my very favorite songs! He's an amazing vocalist! Great reaction!
Thirteen is another good one by Danzig. Originally he wrote it for Johnny Cash and then threw it down himself.
His band at the time begged Glenn to do Thirteen as the Last track.👍
Going Down to Die was played at my friends wake, dude died at 17
Truly, my condolences. That's incredibly sad, and I relate. Perfect song
Hell yeah love Danzig dude his voice is awesome, 🔥🔥🔥🔥 great reaction my friend ❤️.
Black Summer and Circle of Snakes are great songs too.
You should react to "Devil's Plaything", it's among his most famous ones for a reason, you'll love it. Also, "Mother", same reason.
You got it my friend
First time you hear danzig like this changes your musical taste forever
Love your reaction

It’s an orchestra that he composed. It’s worth a listen.
@@jakemistakeroberts2044, I know what it is. I've listened to it. I said I've never picked it up.
Snakes of Christ is a great tune. Going Down To Die was an early fave from 4. I must recommend Blood And Tears cuz I am in a Mo-town mood... Peace!
Blood and tears is gold.
Bringer of Death on Danzig's 4th album is heavy. Nobody reacts to this song at all, and it is a crying ass shame!
The solo in going down to die is brilliant
Damnit- i was in a Laibach mood but now ill be jamming Danzig all day lol
The live version of Sistinas on Thrall- Demonsweat Love might be Glenn at his finest vocal moment
Spot on. I have always had that in mind as well. That and "Less than zero".
Its awesome to hear you have an ear for this. Great analysis. Im a subscriber now
Danzigs ballad style songs are some of my favorites

Haha this guy clearly doesn’t listen to this genre on a regular basis. Glad you dig it though! Samhain is the best 💗
You hit the nail on the head buddy...look up the misfits that was the original band he was in. Yes it was a punk band 😉👍👍
Much respect most ppl don't go down the rabbit hole this far

I love to see you react on Danzig, just right now I will watch em one by one, thx for load, I'm amused, haha
Part of THE punk band, The Misfits. Glenn was the Misfits.
Two Danzig reaction vids gets you a sub. Right on.
Danzig II: Lucifuge is an amazing album...Glenn's vocals on it is his best performance in my opinion. "Snakes of Christ" is my favorite Danzig song.
Dude, You & Me(Less than zero) is his finest vocal work
Originally supposed to be a song from his second band Samhain. The band members were against it so it was shelved for years.
Have you listened to Less Than Zero? That's one of his best vocal performances.
You & Me
9:29 so smooth, buddy

Son of a Morning Star....if you wanna hear some powerful Danzig chops
Danzig é sombrio.. mas cheio de emoções bonitas.
Danzig used to be called Samhain, his second band after the Misfits
Ah..perhaps it was The Misfits 🤔
Listen to "Black Aria" 🧐
Danzig - "You and Me" or "Blood and Tears"
HELL YEAH, DANNNNZZIIGGGG!!!! Every album is different. Skip 5, it's shit on purpose. Evil Elvis rules!
Back then this was 🔥, anything up to Danzig 4 was good
The Mandrake's Cry
the band really had a blues feel to them. it was way better listening to danzig solo than with the misfits imo. but nothing wrong with the misfits. but danzig was so much more.
Has a bit of the Dictators "Minnesota Strip" in the first tune
Back when I was a kid listening to Snakes of Christ, it took me a bit to think about what this song meant (probably because I was just too busy enjoying the music and the edginess).

Blood and tears and do you wear the mark👍👍👍
Danzig since the Misfits always sounded like a mix between Elvis and Jim Morrison to me for some reason.

Do I don't mind the pain on Danzig 4
Danzig rocks hard
I call it blues metal. Glenn can wail! Sadly, I think "Going Down to Die" is about choosing to end your own life.
She Rides. video please
You should let yourself cry on camera. It's a tribute to the artist to openly allow yourself to be affected by their work.
Its all good until you hear Danzig speak in an interview or something. You wouldn't guess they were the same person.
MISFITS!!!!!!!!!!!!
