I really like what I have tried from Fragrance Du Bois. Was introduced to them last summer. Wanted a full bottle but they are very "high end". Ended up buying the privé sample pack with London Oud, Sahraa Oud, Oud Bleu Intense, Oud Noir Intense, and Orange Oud. Love them all.

My two favorites from this house are Parisian Oud (I guess this is just called Parisian now?) and Oud Bleu Intense. Oud Bleu isn't cheap, but Parisian is even higher. It is just way out of my reach. Another favorite of mine is Baie Rose, which is simple but much cheaper than the other two. It also doesn't last as long, though.

How long does your Oud Violet last?
Is that their perfume were reformulated in the new packages? I noticed their perfumes’ colour look different, and lighter now. They are called Parfum instead. Then I did research about that and found out a RUclipsr noticed that also. She said they smell different and cheaper than the older package ones. Can anyone tell me if it’s true?

I was really pleasantly surprised with these fragrances when I first tried them. I wouldn't recommend blind buying any of these (as it's a huge investment!) but definitely get your hands on some samples. The fragrances are awesome!

Jus sorry to write to you on another subject first, but what was the name of the Memo Leather fragance that you selected as a versatile scent ? Let me confess love Leather fragances combined with some aromatic fruity scents are part of my favorite ones. Loved the video, Oud is hard to me to use, but of course will take your advise on Milano because of the Leather accord ( my favorite leather scent has been TF Ombre Leather ) and Oud Bleu Intense. Hi Lazaro! The Memo fragrance is Ocean Leather, which is an awesome fragrance for the warmer weather. I agree Oud can be hit or miss... I used to shy away from it because of how strong it smells but there are many varieties and found fragrances with oud that I love. All trial and error :)

WOW top video 👍😃 Fragrance Du Bois is one of my favorite niche brands and I have samples from all their fragrances. The oud fragrances from Fragrance Du Bois are absolutely breathtaking and the scent quality is truly insane. The Bottles, Caps and packaging is so beautiful. My favorite Fragrance Du Bois scent is Oud Bleu Intense and I have a 100 ml bottle - is unfortunately the only bottle from the brand I have, the fragrances are so so expensive... is the only downside...

I was convinced Santal Complet would be the fragrance for me. Ordered some samples. Not sure why, but both me and my son clearly get smth like menthol. It’s Bozma, really. No sweetness, no biscuits, but this medicinal note is so in my face, or should I say nose, that it overpowers the sandalwood. Has anyone ever experienced a similar thing? I am so bummed. Is it possible my nose is not “trained “ empoche? although I have been testing and buying niche perfumery for years now. I was looking to get a more refined sandalwood scent than TF Santal Blush which I fell in love with years ago but now it seems a bit harsh.
As an aside, I got a sample of Atelier Materi Santal Blond recently, and oh my lord, it is absolutely beautiful. I am scheming to get a fb ASAP 😬 How does that compare with FDB SC?

I love that you chose different fragrances from them, except Santal Complet which is unavoidable. Love love love NY intense, Blue Intense and Milano has the most beautiful leather. I also love how the brand invests in 15ml bottles just as they do in 100ml bottles. Great brand. Lots of decent perfumes. My 5 would be Santal Complet, Oud Jaune, NY Intense, Blue & Milano! 🖤

I love your videos. I was wondering if the Fragrance Du Bois where the older or newer bottles? I was going to buy but then heard the company has change formulations but they are denying it. The new bottles say Purfums and the older say Eau Du Parfum. I wqtched q video where they compared and colors are totally different and smells are not near as potant. I hope its not true. Look forward to hearing back.

Even have it posted on their message boards, but i visually can see the color differences. It wouldnt be a big deal if it was just the color, but im hearing thw longevity and scent is not the same.....crossing my fingers and hoping the reviews were wrong. Im patiently waiting your verdict. Santal complet reminds me of something I have smelled before but I have no idea. It smells great to me but I feel i have smelled it at a perfume counter before so there must be a designer counterpart

I like this house due to quality but is definitely pricey (similar to Roja). The perfumes are Long lasting but silage is not that great for some of them. In my collection, I like London Oud, Noir Intense, Oud Vert, Milano and Oud Rouge. I have bought most of them from Singapore retail as they had 15-20% discount & some from Jovoy Paris shipped to Singapore.

Oud is one of the most expensive and desireable perfume ingredients in the world. It has an intoxicating musky scent that can be quite potent and has been used for centuries in India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Today, many perfumers in the West are using it as a base to create some amazing fragrances for men and women.
What Is Oud?
Oud comes from the wood of the tropical Agar (Aquilaria) tree, a genus that includes 15 different species. The tree is believed to have originated in the Assam region of India, from there spreading to populate Bangladesh and much of Southeast Asia. Wood chips off the trees are often burned as an incense, and it's common for them to be used during religious ceremonies and various celebrations throughout Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including China, Japan, and India.
When the wood of this tree gets infected with a parasitic mold called Phialophora parasitica, it reacts by producing a precious, dark, and fragrant resin. This is the perfume ingredient oud, which is also called agarwood, oudh, agalocha, aloeswood, or eaglewood. Agarwood is a rarity on many fronts. Because the resin is only triggered by the mold, it's estimated that a total of 2 percent of these trees produce it. Not only does this raise the price of the oil, the wood is also one of the most expensive on the market. Additionally, many of these trees are now threatened species.
The oil of oud can be extracted by distillation from the wood or by melting the resin. It's non-irritating and can be applied directly to the skin. However, the price is the real kicker; Forbes has reported that it can cost $5,000 per pound. Oud retailers often sell just a 3-gram bottle for $300 or more. The same retailers also note that you only need a little oil, so that bottle should last the average daily user an entire year.
Due to its rarity, high demand, and the difficulty of harvesting it, oud oil is perhaps the most expensive oil in the world. The annual oud market is around $6 billion, and its value is often estimated as one-and-a-half times the value of gold. For these reasons, it's occasionally referred to as "liquid gold." The specific value of any particular oud, however, varies depending on the source. Certain tree species produce more valuable oud, and the region where the trees grow is a factor as well. Not to mention, oud that occurs naturally is more expensive than oud produced by an artificial infestation of the mold.
Oud (in Arabic oudh) is valued strongly by perfumers for its warm sweetness mixed with woody and balsamic notes. It's an aromatic and complex scent. It is used in the form of oud oil (dehn al oud) or a resin (oud mubakhar). When used in a perfume composition, oud is most often a base note. Essential in every perfume, unlike top notes and middle notes, base notes tend to stay on the skin long after the others dissipate. In a perfume with an oud base, it's likely you'll catch a whiff of it alone hours after applying it.
As with many other expensive perfume ingredients, there are synthetic ouds produced. Compared to the naturally produced fragrance, these are nothing short of a disappointment. Synthetic oud tends to be more leathery and woody-sacrificing its warmth, sweetness, and balsamic notes for the price point.
