I always recommend to do it. Specially on a new platform that will help with stability issues and fixes for it. If you follow the appropriate steps it isn't too much of a problem
I have an x570 Aorus Elite rev 1.0, and updated my BIOS. It worked fine all day the day I did it (yesterday), then now today the GPU was acting like it's dying (colored artifacts in parts of the image), or not being detected, and now it's fine again. Any thoughts? I have a 5800x3D and RTX 3080 coming in, and wanna make sure I didn't fuck anything up before I replace my current parts. Windows would also BSOD loop and start in safe mode (the bluescreen code indicates that there was an issue with a program or driver).
I have a laptop that internal audio completely gone after installing an USB audio interface, and already tried all the software audio update - roll back - unistall - get most recent update / nothing works could bios update help??
I only recommend to do it if ur having issues with ur motherboard or u installed new hardware in and it's not reading it but if ur having no issues don't do it. Only do it if u know how to do it. It's scary.
When I leave my pc idle sometimes it freezes and I have to do a hard reset and it works. But I also tried replugging things before I reset the computer did not work. So I hard reset it and it worked fine. Should I update my bios

@Ardeth Bey Your sanity would be much better off not worrying about such frivolous things as words, or their use. And no, I've never heard of laptops exploding. I'm aware of BIOS updates being really delicate, though.
@Ardeth Bey Listen, if you wanna throw a fit because I said fuck, go ahead. But don't drag me into your misery. You can choose not to give it meaning, YOU give words meaning, they don't just inherit objective meaning, so don't fucking try to tell me other peoples feelings are my responsibility. I used to take offence by petty shit too, then I turned 15-16 and realized how infantile and pathetic I was being, and I just stopped caring about literally frivolous shit. Something for you to consider.

Sometimes it happens. Drives conflicting and artifact will pop out of no where. Restart will fix it if its that.
@@JoHn-if6wy A few restarts did eventually fix it, and now I'm on my new rig and everything is perfect.
