    Putting up vegetables is time consuming but getting to eat them in the winter is amazing. I just canned 23 pints of peaches and it took hours but when the snow is here they will be a joy to eat. You have a beautiful family!

    Lamar's thumbs up gave me a chuckle. The kids being themselves in and out, especially Jameson at the end during the deer filming was cute and funny too. Great family. 👍❤️

    Reminded me of one summer my mom got so much corn that by the time we finished with it I didn't want to see another cob of corn for a long while!😊 It was such a mess but it tasted wonderful when we pulled some out of the freezer later on. Thanks for sharing your day. See you next time 🤗

    Thanks so much for showing us how to preserve food. I was wondering what you did with the cobs when you were finished. I saw another video where they made vegetable broth using the cobs. I was going to do that this year, but we just took the husk off and put the corn in a food saver bag. We didn't blanch it. I pull it out and thaw it and then put it in the instant pot for a shrimp boil. So much better than the mushy frozen cobs you buy in the store.

      @PositivelyAmy  2 года назад +1

      That’s a great idea! I should save some for shrimp boil too! We usually put the cobs outside in the woods along with the husks so the little critters can have a nice feast after dark. 😊

    Ah, memories from my childhood in central Indiana! Corn has always been a weakness, but when you grow up surrounded by fields of it, it’s a weakness easily indulged! 😊 It’s my biggest “cheat” on keto. I let myself have some for each of the summer holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. I do still blanch some ears and cut some for a couple of small bags for the freezer for winter and have some for Thanksgiving and add some to a kind of crustless pot pie I make a couple of times over the winter. It’s the highlight of the month!
    I loved watching your family work together and getting glimpses of your husband and his sense of humor. Loved his 👍🏻! Chloe is learning the same way you did and so is Jamison. I know when my brother was young, he watched my mother make dressing for chicken dinners and Thanksgiving turkeys but none of us thought he was particularly interested. But when he got married, his new wife called, laughing, one day and said he had showed her the “right” way to make it! He’d been paying attention all along. So Jamison is learning, too!
    So much fun to watch the kids with their different styles in the pool. I’m a Chloe, myself, even though I know Jamison has the right idea.
    Have a wonderful week, Amy, and hope you’re feeling well. 💕🌸💕

      I see all the athletic skirts and leggings underneath but I feel like that material will cling to the body when wet. Totally negating the reason for wearing them. Just curious if you had any thoughts on it?
