- HI all today we head down the river with ONLY the Float fishing gear.
Using a #stickfloat , maggots and a few worms for bait we don't really have a target species and just see what we can tempt.
With 6 species caught #chub #perch #roach #dace #gudgeon and #minnow
A lovely way to spend a few hours trotting on the river .
Thanks for watching

Can't go wrong with that method, I use it on large ponds where there is a strong tow on the water😉👍 easiest way to tell a baby chub from a dace ,The Dace has a Yellow eye

Indeed they are . We are off out looking for some more soon 👍
What a lovely river what is its name and where is it don't worry I am from Sheffield so I definitely won't be fishing it I'm sorry to say also why does it say fishing before dementia
Sorry Reg but i'm not at liberty to divulge any details about the river.
How can you tell when to strike or set the hook?
The float will go under fella , you weight it so just the fluro tip is showing and its quite easy to see . On a river its a bit tougher to read as you are generally trotting along the bottom and have to learn where its the bottom pulling the float under but after a bit it get relatively easy to spot the real bite . Hope this helps 👍
