@mattgreen8132 Yes if I would have bought these it was right around 950. Amazon try before you buy is an amazin tool that I used to my advantage. If you have Amazon prime check I suggest checkin it out. They do not push it very much but when buyin clothes you can select it as an option.
Nicks and whites now have payment plans, so you don’t need shell out 500-700 dollars at once. Now these boots are great if you’re just starting out in construction.
How did those Ariats work for you? For an inexpensive logger I would have recommended AdTec’s crazy horse boot. Not technically waterproof because it isn’t lined with plastic (a huge benefit in my mind) but the leather is great and they’re at least as durable as any of the examples you tried.
I returned all of them. I am much the same and prefer unlined boots. I have a pair of ad tec the leather seems good but the rest of the boot I am not impressed with. Mainly cuz they are too narrow fer me
I would but I am lookin for a leather welt and not a plastic or whatever they use. Mainly because the plastic breaks then water can get in from the bottom. My current brand of Carolina has that problem and are the same price point. But for the money they were ok. Thank you for watching and your comment.
I’m VERY. Hard on my boots I stand strong with the Irish setters ! weather I spend $200 or $500 on my boots I’m looking to buy again after a year of work ! Oil your Irish and they won’t fail you !

So I always went with Carolinas the last pare I bought was the best it was the comfort Work logger boot, and I thought that was a great boot until I did the Timberland Pro, logger boot composite toe. And what a way better boot the don’t even compare when it comes to comfort. As far as longevity goes we’ll see usually get 2 1/2 three years out of a logger boot. Of course by the time it hits 2 1/2 years old they are no longer waterproof. Maybe the timberlands do better.
I oil my boots every month if I think they need it to help with waterproofing. I hope the Timberlands work fer you. Let us know please. I just went back to Carolina soft toe since I do not need safety toes at current job. 1 1/2 to 2 years seems to be pretty much it fer me as I walk alot and wear through the soles. I have had 2 different styles of the waterproof Carolina loggers. Truth be told I really prefer bare leather against my socks. The reason I am movin away from Carolina logger boots is they made the toe box more narrow and I want a leather welt so I can have them rebuilt. Thank you for watchin and yer comment

Not positive but I would guess that the "leather welt" on the Timberland Pro, is probably some form of "reconstituted leather." Essentially they grind up all of the scrap leather, and bind it together with a type of polymer. A type of rubber. I'm not an expert on the material. Weston from Rose Anvil, does a better job explaining it. Watch his Wolverine 1000 Mile video, for reference. Best wishes....
I watch alot of Westons videos. I am not sure but the fact that they did not feel or look like leather would not surprise me that they do that. I hate that they do this and call it leather. Mainly cuz it is not strong enough to use like a slab of leather
@@hornerhaphazardness49 Pretty much none of the new materials are. Most anything man made in inception, cannot compete w/ a good old chunk of steer hide. Seems most any boot of real durability, should require a fair amount of break-in time. I know it's easy for everyone to say, "just go with (insert PNW brand here)" but $500-$700 for a pair of boot, just simply isnt within every mans budget. I understand that....believe me. I also understand that you simply dont have money to throw down the drain each year, year and a half either. You may want to consider picking up a pair from Nicks, or JK Boots, using one of the payment systems that a lot of the companies carry now, to help make their products more accessible to a wider audience. Honestly, I believe you'll be glad you did, if thats possible for you to do. Only you know that answer. Best wishes my friend

I understand that. That was my major problem with all of the ones in this video. I have worn boots with the liner paddin my foot but always go back to unlined boots. The only issue with unlined is the plastic (polyester) socks wear out really fast in them. Now if I could find a source for cotton socks that stay over my big calves.....
@@hornerhaphazardness49 I wear dress timberland socks, I have $25 darn tough socks but I find them too hot and they squeeze your leg too tightly like a compression sock. I don't know the answer to a good pair of socks, they are all awful.
Your the 1st person I have seen sat anythin other than praise for darn tough socks. I wear over the calf tube which makes my hunt even harder. I found some on Amazon I am gonna try but I do not have my hopes up.

I listened to the hype bought custom made JK boots - my pair was $425, they cost $700 now for the same configuration, and I also listened to the hype and bought darn tough socks. The socks are great, but they NEVER got more loose after 6 months of wear, and I just got tired of the squeezing and how hot they made me feel. They're just not for me.

I get 1 1/2 to 2 years out of them. The company I worked fer at that time would only give 100. But after you paid fer them and gave a receipt. I agree with how they are trash when they need resoled but fer some of us that is our only option due to how much it costs to live. I do believe in buyin quality when I can but I have to put the family eatin 1st. Which sucks. I did buy a pair of Redwing loggers and the Vietnam made Carolina were better quality leather. Fer 100 less. I did a video on them.
I believe it considerin my experience. I actually got to see a pair of Nick's another truck driver had and I really loved the way they looked. Inam tryin to save enough to get a pair late this year early next cuz then these Carolinas will be almost wore to the point of needin replacement.

I wear Carolina which were made in Vietnam until recently they have switched to China. The only difference I have found is they changed the sizin. But my plan is to by a pair of PNW boots once I save up they kind of money. I will never buy another pair of Redwing again. I have a video bout them. Thank you fer watchin and commentin!!!

Irish setter are known to have that issue with the plastic. I own a pair that are clapped out now that I bought specifically for tree work.

After Whites and JK boots I can't wear any of these styles of boots anymore, the padded boots feel like wearing a cast on your foot, I can't stand it.

I wouldn’t have the choice as I’d have to go with the large toebox of the Timberlands.
Toebox size is very important. And all these manufacturers seem to be wantin to make them smaller. 🙄
