This is a cool new controller with all of the bells and whistles, including its own screen! It has a proprietary charging dock and works with Nintendo Switch, IOS, PC, and Android via Bluetooth, a wireless 2.4ghz dongle, or a wired connection.
The Manba One Interactive Screen Controller features extremely well calibrated hall effect thumbsticks with less than 0.5% average circularity error in Gamepad Tester. They feel buttery smooth and have very nice rubber grip and metal rings around the shafts. There is absolutely no cardinal direction locking, as shown with the thumbstick calibration tool on Nintendo Switch.
The face buttons use a standard silicone membrane and have a very nice snap back. They are a good size and super punchy. The dpad uses microswitches and feels great. No false inputs at all. It works really well in everything I threw at it except Hadukens in Street Fighter II. While the fireballs were a bit difficult to pull off to the right, they were easy going to the left and Shoryukens were no problem in either direction.
The Xbox style dpad also proved to work very well in Tetris 99. I pulled 16th with it which is pretty good for me. I also show a little more gameplay with one online race in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch where I snagged 2nd place.
The interactive screen in the center of the controller is where all of your settings are, and it’s easy to use. You have control over 3 separate profiles along with the default setting which is already tuned perfectly for the Switch. There are button mapping options, vibration settings, LED control, and even options to adjust the deadzone of your thumbsticks. The menu is intuitive and easy to manage. Once familiar with it, it’s nice to have all these settings at your fingertips without requiring additional software or memorizing hotkeys.
You can set single button presses or long strings of macro recordings to any of the 4 easily reachable rear buttons. They are well placed and feel great. They’re not hard to press when you want to, and not easy to accidentally press. Every button can also be set to turbo via the settings menu on screen.
Like most good controllers coming out these days, this controller also has hall effect analog triggers with very precise control even in the lower percentages, and included trigger stops for nearly instant digital inputs when needed. The shoulder buttons use a soft microswitch and sound slightly louder than an average mouse click.
Oh.. and this controller is heavy! Heavy in a good way. It feels premium and well built. I really like it.
There are other cool features included like the removable/replaceable magnetic face plates and windows that offer a view of the rumble motors in action. More specs for those wondering; It does have 6-axis gyro and the website states that it has a 1800mAh battery. It seems to last a good while.
If you read this far I’m impressed! Hook up a like if you don’t mind helping out the channel. I’d really appreciate it.
    Thanks for watching! ✌️

The Controller's product page says that the adaptor included with it is a Bluetooth adaptor. not 2.4ghz dongle. Looks decent though, and Decent review otherwise.

Oh no. I think I might be returning mine. I see from the instructions that you are not able to map the thumb stick clicks, (right and left). That's a deal breaker for me.

I’m sorry to hear that. They are working on a revised version with more features 🤫. I’ll bring this to their attention. It should definitely be included.

I got mine a day ago and found that you actually can map thumb clicks to the back using macros and it shows on the screen. You can't map the positive and negative button though because they are used to navigate 👎

This is basically what the PlayStation controller is always rumored to be each generation since PS4. But ultimately I think after the Wii U debacle the use case of the screen is next to 0 and the battery life would be a few hours. I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool to have some kind of interactive stuff appear but I think it has to be optional.
