I have a 2012 Wrangler with a key lying around that doesn't work. I also have the XTool D7. There's no way I can mess it up and have both keys end up not working is there? lol
If you are a professional locksmith the prices are reasonable. You will need to create accounts with the top suppliers with the proper credentials. If you are an amateur diy guy, you will unfortunately be relying on sub par products from eBay/Amazon.

Chrysler responded to a flaw in their system that allowed remote attacks like this with separating access to the different networks in the car. This resulted in us not being able to program keys through OBD:

While it's unlikely, I can't guarantee anything. Try pulling the pin first.

I'm always connected so I'm unsure if this one needs it. I think it references a database for the pin, I'm just not 100% sure.

Difficult question to answer. Similar to me asking what are the main differences between driving a Toyota or Honda.

Does the xtool d7 work for newer model jeeps? (2018-2021)
Those Jeeps are hit or miss with any tool in my opinion. It's part of the reason I got WiTech 2.0.
