Currently in Nagoya with my wife and we tried Hitsumabushi thanks to this video, and it was delicious!! Many thanks, keep up the good work, we love your vids
This episode seemed somehow more existential than some others... but I always enjoy the vicarious travel, and the low-key sly humor is a definite plus. :-) Thanks for the peek inside Nagoya Castle and notes on what to eat (or not) if I ever do manage to get to Japan!
Thank you for showing all that lovely food! I am going to have a snack now. I like curry very much but still have not had the Japanese style that I am longing to try. Cheers, Colin.
Facts. I played pro basketball in Kawasaki. Flying coach was better than many domestic us first class flight. The buses are cleaner. The trains are more modern, more efficient and beautiful. I was in Japan in the early 90s and the trains back then are still better than Amtrak today and the domestic flights have gotten worse. What's said is. Amtrak trains aren't even packed. So it would be better to reduce seats, upgrade the interiors and charge a little more.
Please slow down subtitles, we are looking at the scenery and by the time we get to look at the subtitles they appear and disappear a bit too fast now. Train was the most beautiful I have seen. Food looked delicious and CHEAP! Loved your phone memes!
The benches could also be used as temporary seating so people can get stuff out of their locker without having to shuttle back and forth from their assigned seats.
5490yen including the upgrade to first class? That's a great deal considering the standard class Shinkansen is 5940yen (non-reserved seat). Sure this train is an hour slower, but that level of comfort and the view our the front is something you can't get on the shinkansen. Plus, the shinkansen is removing food and drink service unless you pay for green car, which is another 3000yen on top! Definitely going to consider this next time I'm in Japan.
I can’t believe how affordable hotel rooms are in Japan! 4,000 yen / $27 USD? That isn’t possible here. My family (2 adults, 1 teenager) went out of town last weekend. We got a rather common hotel room with 2 queen beds - $249 per night. And they didn’t have a breakfast included or anything!
We were there in May and walked from Nagoya Castle to that same Yatabon (delicious!), and then on to Super Potato and Mandarake. It was a long walk and it was one of the hottest days of the trip. This video brings back many memories of the short stay there, thank you for sharing your wit and charm.
I love your little spinner. I'm one that doesn't do a whole lot of planning when I travel, I just take things as they come. A little game like that would suit me perfectly.
This is actually much cheaper and more comfortable than trying to drive the 160 km. Cars are ridiculously expensive to use in Japan and those mountains between Osaka and Nagoya are real speed bumps. To be honest, these coach interiors look like they have been rebuilt with all new seating.
Your comments about what you consider expensive in Japan tells me that either I could live like a king there, or inflation in the US is much worse than I thought. Probably both. Thank you for airways being entertaining.
the USD-JPY exchange rate is very good, and inflation in Japan has also been low, probably from the same economic causes. Somewhere between both and a third but similar option!
Japan had almost 20 years of light deflation. The poverty level is also extremely high (around 16%, double of the average countries of EU). While the country is a strong economy, the average living condition isn’t better than in the US or Europe. And with the inflation touching Japan recently like in the rest of the world price increase are heavily felt by the population. Japan is a strong economy but with a weak currency. Making it a nice place to travel for foreigners, but doesn’t help the inhabitants.
All right, my friend, another amazing adventure. Be safe, happy travels much love as always in most importantly please have fun for me ❤❤ my dear friend. Your videos always brighten up my day
Since the resting seat is near the locker, I think it's good if you have something to get from your suitcase or travel bag which is pretty cool! I really admire Japanese technology, transport design or anything that every Japanese citizen needs in making their lives much easier and comfortable. At the same time I also admire the Japanese business or the Japanese gov't who really cared for others needs! Yes businessmen of course earns, while the gov't also earns from citizen's taxes however, they provides comfort for everyone that you get your money worth! Amazing!! I'm a big fan of Japan and its people! Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!! Good job solo solo!!
Beautiful Train, Cheap but NICE hotel that shocked me, Food looked amazing, Humor is always on point. Keep up the vids they are a very chill and fun way to start my day.
Aku mengalami fase pemulihan dari depresi. Aku lebih banyak mengurung diri di kamar.. Tapi justru aku bahagia. Karena melihat chanelmu yg sangat menarik. Terima kasih bro... Sukses selalu
There's a mazesoba restaurant in Toronto near me - the kombu vinegar really does make the meal better! At some point, Solo, you have to put a Google Map together of all the places you've visited so we tourists can reference it.
Thank you for this wonderful idea. I'll be in Osaka for a week in October and now know where and how I am going one of those days! The Hinotori premium ticket is very reasonable and the tray is a must to hold my ekiben!
I just paid $60 off-peak to be stood up next to the toilet for two hours on a sweaty sweaty day. And it was delayed. I think of Japan every time I have to go on a train in Britain. My bitterness will keep me upright!
@29:50 is the joys of modern day OH&S ... a fire escape 😂 The castle interior is exquisite! But seriously, i must confess it's been a while since i watched any of your videos, simply due to life in general getting far too busy. I'm glad i found you again though as on a sleepless night, you have provided some great entertainment! Congrats on the 1m subscribers too! 🎉
Poor cat. :P Thanks for the ride. The "regular" cars look like luxury by USA standards. Our trains like like 3rd world in comparison. That train is beautiful inside and out.
I got a gentle laugh from your exploration of the suspicious passenger possibilities of your seating space. I enjoy very much the humor of your subtitles! This would surely be a trip I'd enjoy. I wish we had such robust rail service in my part of the United States. Was that instant corn potage any good? I hope it was better than the protein bar!
The first video of yours I watched was the first Hinotori trip. That’s when I discovered how hilarious you are and how badly I want to travel in Japan.
I watch your videos every night before bed. It helps me to have good dreams. It's a wonderful clip. I follow you every video. Your video made me want to visit Japan. Japan is beautiful and peaceful, hope you add new videos soon. I will continue to follow and watch your videos.
About the equivalent of £30 for that premium class ticket! That's insanely good value for money. In England you pay the same price for about a 56 minute trip to get to London from where I live in standard train seats. Thank you for this video! It inspires me more to want to visit Japan.
You have really great appetite! 😋😋😋😋 When I used to be able to eat a lot, one girl once said, "you eat so much!" Then I said, "I am very blessed that I can eat a lot!" You too! Thank you for such a great video again. I feel that I was right next to you to experience all that...
12:27 It was announced earlier (in English) that you shouldn't take phone calls in the seating area, but that you could take those calls in the bench area. Guess this is what they meant.
Здравей ! Много ми хареса твоето пътуване! Много е красиво! Храната изглежда удивително вкусно! Замъкът в Нагоя е много интересен! Поздрави от мен от България! Чакам да видя следващото пътуване!
This was a joy! As always, your editing and snarky captions are exhilarating but so relaxing! That's talent! Love it. But exactly how did you lose your shorts? Inquiring minds....
Great videos! I really envy you as I love travel and Japan with a passion. Thank you so much for showing us such great means of travel. Kisses from Greece...❤
I like your humour because it's very similar to mine and sometimes I get scared that maybe we are the same person (but not rly) also congrats on 1 mil subs!!! woohoo~
ÖBB and DB should watch this. C A R E F U L L Y!!!! FFS I cannot belive how crappy our european trains are compared to this. Thanks for the upload, I am definately going to try this out!
I love the trains in Japan. I would love to travel by train there. Foodwise I would probably feel hungry there, very miniature portions. But I like that the meal time is a ritual. Yes, I would definitely like to visit Japan and travel it by train. ❤ Well, actually at the very end there are pretty decent portions of meals. Thumbs up. 👍
Японцы молодцы, уважают свой народ и язык, всё написано иероглифами, хочешь (можешь) читай, а не можешь ориентируйся по картинкам. Спасибо за видео, очень познавательно. Я много узнала про Японию.
Regarding the "resting seats" beside the lockers... aside from simple, plain resting, they'd be handy for those using the lockers. It's handy to have a place to sit while either rearranging a case so it would fit a locker, or perhaps getting something out of a case before you put it back in a locker.

11:55 in the instructions under the toilet seat lid: "Do not stay on the toilet seat for an extended period of time. (Doing so may result in low temperature bum.)" That doesn't sound fun! Does it actually change into "COLD" if you sit too long? I have always wanted to try one of these toilets, and hope that one day I get a chance - it sounds nice and fresh.
Amo os seus vídeos. Estou viciada neles. Também aprendendo a amar o Japão. Como gostaria da oportunidade de conhecer de perto essa nação. Deus te abençoe! Manaus-AM.
Your witty and sarcastic commentary in the english subtitles makes this my favorite of the various "traveling in Japan" channels that I watch.
This is, what I do love also on his Trip-Reports! Interesting and always funny!
Same!
That, and the incongruent duck photo.
Same here. This is the first video I've seen of his and it was an instant Subscribe just from the commentary alone.
interesting fun film. like it😊
Currently in Nagoya with my wife and we tried Hitsumabushi thanks to this video, and it was delicious!! Many thanks, keep up the good work, we love your vids
What a beautiful train! And I love it that you can watch the driver's point of view
Thats really great, ever visit Kopenhagen Metro? 😮
@@RGa-ch1vsThere are plenty of driverless metros though. This is an intercity passenger train.
This episode seemed somehow more existential than some others... but I always enjoy the vicarious travel, and the low-key sly humor is a definite plus. :-) Thanks for the peek inside Nagoya Castle and notes on what to eat (or not) if I ever do manage to get to Japan!
All the trains I’ve seen in Japan look so clean and beautiful, I wish we had rail service like Japans here in the USA
I agree. Train travel is so much easier going than flying.
Our trains are clean in Victoria Australia, but not as modern.
🧂🧂
Thank you for showing all that lovely food! I am going to have a snack now. I like curry very much but still have not had the Japanese style that I am longing to try. Cheers, Colin.

Everything in Japan always looks so clean and orderly. Love hearing the Beatles in the background!
I'm moving to Osaka next year and never knew about this! will absolutely make it easy to have weekend trips to Nagoya
How is it there
i feel the resting area by the lockers would be a good place if someone wanted to make a phone call or something without disturbing other passengers
Yup, the announcement asked that people on the phone should do so at a bench.
They're there so that people who paid cheaper prices for the train or reserved too late could get a spot
No, the resting area by the lockers is for crop dusting, on the way to the toilet! 💩
The benches could also be used as temporary seating so people can get stuff out of their locker without having to shuttle back and forth from their assigned seats.
When lockers are packed that tight, everyone has to wait their turn.
When I was in Nagoya, I told my friend Hideaki 'my stomach is excited about this trip'... He laughed so hard that tea ran out of his nose hahahahahaha
Thank you. Thank you for taking us on another journey, and food tour. Nagoya castle was out of this world.
Thanks for the lesson on how to eat Hitsumabushi, that's really fascinating.
Finally after 3 weeks I can feel Japan again 😊
🎉🎉Congratulations Solo Solo Travel on a MILLION SUBS!!!!! 🎉🎉
I can’t believe how affordable hotel rooms are in Japan! 4,000 yen / $27 USD? That isn’t possible here. My family (2 adults, 1 teenager) went out of town last weekend. We got a rather common hotel room with 2 queen beds - $249 per night. And they didn’t have a breakfast included or anything!
he had curry for 10$ and he thought that was expensive!
Love your sense of humour solo solo, you made me smile and laugh.
OMG! I want to go to JAPAN just for the train travel. And the food, as well as the scenery and the culture, haha, so much . Hopefully one day 😍
Always amazes me with prices for food in Japan every time I visit. That mazesoba was 1,500JPY, in the US it would've been 5,500JPY.

Ah yes, it is integral to dance before breakfast! Thank you for the video and your endless humor SoloSolo!
Очень нравится с Вами путешествовать! Вы интересный рассказчик.
the train looks absolutely gorgeous, that red color is just something to behold
This is actually much cheaper and more comfortable than trying to drive the 160 km. Cars are ridiculously expensive to use in Japan and those mountains between Osaka and Nagoya are real speed bumps. To be honest, these coach interiors look like they have been rebuilt with all new seating.
Sweet! I’m going to be taking that route to spend a day in Nagoya on sep 9th!
Wishing you a wonderful journey and experience. A Lady from Wales UK. 🙋♀️🕊

名古屋城は立派で中の装飾が凄く綺麗ですね。
あと、ひつまぶしを一度、食べてみたいです。美味しそうでした。
I got to see Nagoya Castle in 1986 when I was a student visiting from Alaska in the United States. I found it ver_ interesting.

Благодарю за это увлекательное и аппетитное путешествие!
The trains in Japan are so nice!!🌷
"it was a bit too confusing to wrap my head around, it felt like a fever dream" yup, that an accurate description of a ghibli movie.
Just want to say, love your video, keep up the good work mate, lots of love from australia!
Poor cat. :P

And right on time for 1mil subs too nice
Enough with the "bro", please! Makes it sound so much like from a tool!
Congrats on having over a million subscribers! Your videos are always great, thanks.

После твойх видео путешествий так хочется в Японию, но деньги не хватает 😂
Спасибо за видео и за твой старания❤
I wouldn't want to go there. Can't you see that there is a totalitarian dictatorship? They wear respirators everywhere, even on the streets.
Мне очень нравится смотреть ваши видео. Спасибо. Хочу пожелать вам здоровья и процветания. Вы хороший, добрый человек, мне кажется...

This an incredible trip for all the food, love it, thanks.
The Japanese joy of food makes me smile 😀

im getting such a chill and cool vibe from your vids keep it up bro 🙌🏼
13:52 that kid was in the middle of his training arc. Can't interfere, it's a canon event

The food prices are about the same here in Canada? But your food looks way better!!!!! Love your channel!!
This is one of the most beautiful trains I've ever seen!
Finally, i enjoy watch the video.. Thanks mate.

Hi! Just wanna say that your video really helped me plan my upcoming Nagoya trip! Especially the food, I never knew Nagoya has good food
I LOVE your videos! You are so funny and I like to see places that maybe I will never get to visit so thank you. Also, not enough dancing😂😂
I know who the clacker at the end is! That's too cool!!
Watching the continual various onscreen comments reminds me of playing Shenmue. That's a compliment!
If you have more footage of the castle, you should post it. It was beautiful! What train did you take home?
I did enjoy the trip and all that went with it! 👏👏
congrats on 1 million

wow that’s a really interesting car with the train operator in plain sight! very cool!
Welcome back and finally after 3 weeks we will see Japan
Make us feel good and happy, the way u explore journey along with food vlog s remarkable... ❤
they say its good when viewing travel vids if you can recall scenes from cinema movies then your onto a winner , watching this vid made me think of the scene from original "total recall" where arnie is in the johnny cab and the robot driver is in front.
New subscriber here! I love your vudeos. It makes me feel relaxed before i go to sleep. I hope to see you in Japan when i go there. Love from the Philippines 😊
I absolutely adore your witty comments they make these videos extra fun i love your channel 😊
Very fascination and cleaver,I’ve also seen vender machine beats from Kagoshima to Okinawa
man every food scene makes me hungry 😅 i should eat before watching lol
Everytime you showed the price and talked about how expensive it was, in my head I was saying wow, how is it that cheap
That kid is why I would fly and sleep on a nice hotel. Thanks for showing the real experience!
Ah!! I use decision wheels all the time! It makes me happy to see someone else using them 😭 I’m loving the food content! Always the best Solo Solo!
I can't believe I actually clapped 👏👏👏 at the beginning when it said "everyone 👏" I'm such a dork 😂😂😂
