@@CharlezMalasana I’ve never let the stuff sit for more than like 2 minutes at most, but I used it on some custy ass 7.3 powerstroke stuff that was layered in like literally 1/8” thick grease and it came off with ease. Especially more so if you can use a pressure washer as well
About the VIN thing, in some places, like Romania (where I live) you can't register a car if the block and chasis VIN numbers don't match so a lot of manufacturers put the VIN there
Pause at 7:33 for a small lesson about vtec. the camshaft has 3 lobes for each valve. the outer 2 lobes push the outer 2 rockers under the camshaft for the short valve travel. as soon as you hit the vtec, oilpressure will shift a small pin and connect the outer two rockers with the inner one. the middle lobe is a lot larger than th outer 2 and pushes the vlave much further down. the more travel the valve is doing, the more air/exhaust flow you have. that results in more powa baby.
The bottom stuff on the head is the "Rocker assembly" the cams push on one side of the arms and that actuates the valves, when vtec engages it locks all of the intake rockers with oil pressure. With that cam damage just use some emory cloth and smooth it out... It will be just fine especially for your particular build. If you were going for HIGH hp id say just grab a set of cams
You should do another build series, this time with an outdoor carport/snow cover. Like a 3 bay garage with open walls and a sloped roof just to keep the snow from falling on top of the cars and provide shade in summer.
The progress thing is huge I think Robbie, that’s a fantastic idea. Really only organizations like gears and gasoline, throtl, and such can afford to wait for parts and perfect video opportunities because of all the people and projects they have. LOVE THE CONTENT MY MAN!!!!
I’ve built my own. Fill a 5 gallon bucket with cement and have a 4x4 bracket in it, bury it just under the ground for whatever you size you want of each car, and repeat for however many cars you have. Just have all the front facing 4x4s to be taller than the back to have a sloped roof and boom. Pretty simple
You know man I’m storing my cobalt ss in my driveway with a tarp on it and seeing you have the genny and jasmine out just chillen in the snow without a tarp makes me feel way better about Storing it outside Thankyou!
There is two cam lifts on one camshaft when rpms are high enough the ecu will allow oil to pressurize the roller rocker under the cam to allow the 3 roller rockers on one cylinder to become one big roller rocker with a pin allowing for the higher lift of that middle cam giving you the BWWWWAAAAA
How VTEC works: oil pressure is allowed thru a solenoid to push a pin from an outer rocker arm to the middle rocker. If you look at the lobes you can see the difference in lift. P.s. get drag cartel drop in cams.
Robbie you’re an inspiration. You and Birdy always want to make me go and work on my car (bugeye wrx) and just stay motivated. I thank you for that. Edit: make sure you have bare metal where the starter bolts on so you have a good solid ground
Get some OEM 06-08 TSX cams. Those are the most aggressive OEM cams. Also recommend those since you are keeping a stock valvetrain. With aftermarket cams you’ll likely need to upgrade valvetrain and tensioner.
You should put in car port that you can put on insulated tarp walls for the winter and remove or open them for the summer. Big enough to park 4 cars in it on one side and 3 on the other on into a L shape in front of the garage.
Hey I did construction we used a sepific plastic mat and some carports also the portable garages you can have a person who cover boats covers those the same way
Build a lean to, a roof that goes over where the s10 and the genesis go and it’ll keep the snow off the ground and off the cars. Doesn’t have to be crazy big or anything but enough to keep th snow away and just be persistent with snow removal. :)
I forgot the brand we’ve had our shelter for years now, but where the bottom frame rails lay on the ground, dig it out so it’s level, steak it down as you would normally, then cover it all with concrete and boom you’re done. In NC we get hurricanes, severe storms, and occasionally tornadoes and that thing hasn’t moved AT ALL keeping 3 cars safe
Not sure what the temp is in your garage but it's a good idea to run a blow torch over any aluminium you plan on painting, helps the paint stick. Looks fun tho dude
Don't take my word for it, but I'm sure that part you were asking about on the head is the lifters that lock when vtec engages switches from the tamer cam profile to the larger, more aggressive profile. correct me if I'm wrong though
Yo robbie, you could try building a little cheap ass lean tube to park your vehicles under, it would keep most of the snow out, and keep the sun off the paint too
You could build a permanent structure as a car cover and have the ground be gravel with cement piles in the ground that you could then attach posts to and a solid roof
You should make/ get an open garage with a slanted roof like what they have at some apartment complexes it would help stop weathering on the cars and would last longer than other car covers
Get an RBC manifold 70mm throttle body, port manifold sense your always looking to try new things , get some aftermarket cams sense your already looking to get some and a type s oil pump. Possibly drag cartel for cams
Hey Robbie idk if you mentioned u got this in your older video showing all the parts but you should get a k24 oil pump saw these guys make 600 hp on stock engine with a k24 pump on 30 pounds of boost lol idk if it’s totally safe but this ek is going to be a beast
Aluminum oxidizes, so a layer of aluminum oxide forms on the surface, same thing happens to my rims lol, I gotta polish them with mag polish every year to keep em fresh
Build a carport and close it off on 3 sides so the snow doesnt blow in from the sides, and then your cars would stay away from the snow, or you just hang a tarp on all the sides to close it off enough
I say build a car canopy/shed with all side covered aside from the front, put some lights. This part is a little over kill but a car cover under the shed.
Jus so ya know. 06-08 k20z3s, made in america have a known issue of developing a steess fracture behind the starter on the coolant jacket. Ya can check forums. Miss the "Robbie Repairs - and Emerson does it" times...
Yea
It always makes me nervous watching you work in white like I barely wear my white CC hoodie cause I don't want it dirty lol
You could build a open shed / open garage so the cars can stay covered and would last longer
Exactly my thought, I'll try to scetch one...
Something like a carport
I was thinking this too
Do something like nightride did lol
I funny how we all thought the same thing for him lol
Check the head also because the part of the cam that you found damaged is actually the part of it that goes in the head caps...

There are steel carports that a company comes and builds in a couple hours. We have 2 and they hold up great in the harsh VT winters.
Imagine hitting the dislike button on one of Robbie's vids smh
Would love to see you build a car cover or shed or something like that
Maybe you should build a small roof with some concrete underneath to protect the cars next winter.
Dollar store oven cleaner, I’m telling you, best degreaser I’ve ever used.
Yesss ! Taylor Ray talked about that in his video yesterday 😂

Yeah but you also have to clean it kinda fast. It leaves white stains if you let it dry for too long

The pin that your talking about basically engages the big middle lobe

Love to see it Robbie!! I’m in the process of rebuilding my 22RE in my 87 yota pickup. Love seeing you do the same sort of thing!!
You should definitely do the k20a2 (typeS) oil pump since you already got the engine apart
Pretty sure the a2 and z3 use the same pump. They are almost identical engines unlike the a3 and z2 etc
I had a k20z3 and it comes with the same pump as k24a2. Which is different from the k20a2
“it smells like if toto grandmother smoked a lot” it’s probably hurt oil

Build a second garage, specifically for storage only. Supply heating to it as well and boom. It won't be too expensive and would make life way easier.
This thing is going to be dope, can't wait to see it driving around
You built a spray booth, now you could make a car shelter outta 4x4s! Stay committed! You got this!
black looks awesome but only problem is that it'll be soaking up wayy more heat than usual due to the emissivity.
Wasn't expecting that color combo to look as good as it does, ngl. Sick.

Keep up the good work homie!
You should store your cams and crank shafts vertically. They can warp!! Just an FYI!
Yo rob! Why don’t you just pave the driveway and plow it in the winter! That would be very convenient
For the shelter with the snow just built an open area with a room ! Still open but roof overtop to prevent snow
You should put in car port that you can put on insulated tarp walls for the winter and remove or open them for the summer. Big enough to park 4 cars in it on one side and 3 on the other on into a L shape in front of the garage.

piece in the block is a coolant diverter, nice job 👍
Do a cement platform and bolt down the car garage top thing to the cement and just add similar tin walls to make it more of a sturdy structure
Oil pressure goes through the rocker assembly pushing a lock pin that make the rocker ride on the bigger lobe of the cam. BRRAaAppp
Build a carport for storage. And if your changing the cams you might as well upgrade them and your valve springs etc
Depending on the welds, I’d say the oil pan is probably stronger than ever 😂😂
Build a 2 covers, a 3 car one and a 2 car one, and you can use metal sheets on the sides and top
The influence you get from Casey is off the charts. 😂
That's probably what makes ur channel stand out!
Who?
