Hi!! I’m curious on the Korean Bachelors degree. I’m an 11th grader in the US and I am considering to apply to a Korean university but want to return to live in the US after my 4 years of college. Will a Korean degree be worth the same as a American degree in America?? Loved the Video!!!
Mmm I'm really not sure because it all depends on your major. I major in business which I think is more flexible compared to other degrees, but if you do some sort of medical or psychology or science field then not every company would accept a Korean degree I think. I know stories of people from overseas that got their degrees in their home countries, and then when they wanted to get a job in the US they had to do almost their entire education over again.

Hey Cathy, It's quite an informative video. Could you please help to confirm if korean universities are OK with students having 15 yrs of education and not 16 yrs.But have good It experienc. I have checked all of the universities page ,except for kaist eligibility of 16yrs education,no other university have mentioned these details.
Thank you so much for this video! It's truly the most clear and detailed one I found so far. Since you're the first person I found that applied to multiple universities, I hope you can help me finally clarify this one doubt I had for the longest time. I heard people talking about the "university track" (which lets you pick only one university) and the "embassy track" (thanks to which you can choose 3 universities to apply to). But the thing is, that I always heard people talk about these two application methods when talking about a masters degree, and more specifically, when applying for GKS (the scholarship). Plus, when checking the sites of the universities, I only ever see the voice that says you cannot ENROL into multiple undergrad courses, and nothing really about applying to more than one university. Can you confirm that there isn't a limit when it comes to applying for undergrad courses in Korean universities? Or did you also use the embassy track option in order to be able to apply to all the three universities? Thank you for your patience in answering all of these questions! You're truly helping so many desperate students hahah
@@tifeosindele3819 yes yes, I know she isn't a GKS scholar. I just mentioned the scholarship because I wasn't sure if you generally can apply to multiple universities, or if the process is similar for both situations. So thank you very much for clarifying my doubt!

Do I notarize and apostille the required documents for upload too, or I do that for the documents to mail only? Thank you.
When I applied, I don't think they had the uploading system in place. That may have started it because of COVID and the difficulty of applicants mailing their documents. So I can't answer your question well-- sorry!

It says to send our diploma and not a copy, however, they also say that none of the submitted documents will be returned. Therefore, they have your real diploma forever? we won't ever get it back? I don't really want to give them my original :(
what i did is i got two originals from my high school and got one of them apostilled and sent to korea, and then the other one i am keeping at home! so if your high school is able to cooperate in doing that, i recommend that method!

Now or in 11th grade, or in 12th grade etc? FYI I also want to take IELTS when the time comes
Hii, I'm a high school student of the economic sector in Italy. I wanna study at SNU but i really need to know some questions : Are South Korean universities' degrees valuable outside of South Korea? Will either of European or North American countries (U.S and Canada) accept a person's university degree from South Korea for finding an appropriate job?
hi! this is a difficult question because it depends on the field. like i think a degree in business would be much more flexible (and if i go back to the states, i think being a native-born american would help) on my part, but when it comes to fields like medicine or the sciences, it would be much harder. i know stories of people born in other countries and getting a degree from their home country, then they go to the States to get a job and they had to retake much of their education at a US university :/ but that person studied biology. so i think ~maybe~ (don't take my word for it lol) a degree in humanities would be more accepted from an international university compared to a degree in the sciences or medicine. there might be some other research about it, but that is what I think!
Do I have to have a bank statement of 20,000? I looked at the thing online for this school and it says you had to have one. But I also looked somewhere else and it only said for certain countries. (I’m from the Us btw) because it says its required on the application
if you haven't graduated already then you send your incomplete transcript during the application process, and then when you get accepted and finally graduate, you send the final transcript

Hai Cathy! I would like to ask regarding about highschool transcript. Do most of the Korean universities require SAT? Do they allow only highschool diploma only?
I don’t think many of them require SAT bc they get applications from so many people from so many countries that it’s hard to set a standard just for one type of SAT. I do believe, however, that Seoul National University requires it, but none of the other schools I applied to did. So you’ll be fine with a high school diploma
Do they take any interview? If do, what kinds of questions they ask? I took SAT and scored 1220(Math 710, other -510). Will it effect my application? Thank you.
Hello! I am curious about something. You applied for three different universities, right? So did you have to apostille and notarize the same documents three times? or did you just take certified copies of the apostilled and notarized documents? (or something like that) I am asking this because apostille and notarized translating documents in my country are quite expensive so I am a little worried about it lol

Hi this video is really helpful and can i pls get to know which course have you taken coz i wanna apply to ku but I am a little confused so
Hi cathy! this is the most useful vid I have encountered, thank you! Can I ask a few ques?
1. I am a senior (Grade 12) and will apply for Fall 2022 because of the school calendar conflict between ph and kor. How do I complete a 1 school year if i’m gonna miss the Spring 2022? 😅 Thank you!
same question!
I think you apply in July if you are gonna start Uni in spring and if you are gonna start in fall you should apply in March or earlier
Hi there! I’m in the same position as you, I’m pretty sure you’ll start your semester in summer, for the term of fall 2022, and will take spring classes next term, I think it’s pretty much the same, but instead of spring semester first, you do fall.
I’m confuse I’m from Afghanistan but I was raised in UK so I never went to school in Afghanistan and I don’t really speak Persian so do I have to send everything in English
Yes. No matter where you're from, your documents are either supposed to be in korean or in English
This is very informative. Thanks
i love you so much your videos helped me alot
Hello cathy and thank you soo muchh for the video. I have a quick question, is it mandatory to send a SAT or AP scores?
yeah! This video helped me a lot!!! THANK YOU

Hi.Can you explain about VOD(verification of deposit).do we really need to show a bank statement of 20000 USD.
I don’t think KU requires it but I did send it in for Ewha. My bank sends monthly statements in the mail so I just got one of those notarized and sent it. Anything listed on the application guidebook you must send or else they’ll contact you later to send it
Hey I’m from Chicago too!
Hi i’m from the UK where we do GCSEs and A-levels instead of having a GPA. Do you know or have any friends who know how to apply using these grades instead? Also is there accounting in the business school? If you wouldn’t mind could you make a video on how majors, credits & lessons work?
mmm i don't actually know any friends from the UK but i'm sure it would be acceptable! you should ask the office of admissions about that one!
Hey,
Loved your video!
The papers you submitted online were also notarized? So you basically need to send copies of the same documents you added to the online application?
Thank you for the help!!
I’m not sure if they’re doing the application process differently bc of corona but I didn’t submit my Diploma/transcript or other notarized docs online. If I recall correctly the only thing I had to submit online were personal information and personal statements (that I later printed out and also included in the envelope). But aside from those two things submitted online, everything was sent as a hard copy!

Was looking to apply to a Korean university but it’s so hard to have the 20,000 ready when I didn’t expect it.
Thank you for this video!!
KU says "2 letters of application". Do you recommend to go above that if the letters will be good?
hi! Can I just make a photocopy of my passport, birth certificate, etc, and then get them notarized/Apostled?
the copy of the passport is fine but you need to send the original birth certificate and originals of everything else as far as i know~ you can check the admissions guidebook which documents you need specifically notarized and/or apostilled bc i think they specify which need to be originals
Hello. I am going through the Korea University application process for Spring 2025 as an international student. I have been having trouble applying online. The option that is working however is the transfer student application option. I have been trying to do he steps and the select the undergraduate, online application option but it is saying that they browser i am using is incorrect. Is there a way for you to help me with that.
Hey dear thank you for the information 😊
I wanna ask something
If i have 70+ percentage in 12th class and 80+ percentage in TOEFL or IELTS so can i apply in scholarship of korea like snu ?
Hi there!! This video was really helpfull, thank you so much! I was wondering why you decided to not apply to SNU??
I am from India but i am giving a levels r8now including English, do i still need to give a TOFEL OR ILETS ?
Hi Cathy! Recently I applied to the GKS Scholarship program and KU sent me an email needing 2 additional documents, I'm having trouble understanding the Attendance Report that they want me to fill in. By any chance, do you know what am I supposed to put there and how to complete it correctly?
Hi Cathy! I have an important question and I would really appreciate if you could answer it. Did you send the original copies of the documents or just the notorized photcopies.
i am a bit confused about the english track (so that all courses are taught fully in english). So on in the application guide the wrote two diffrent ways. first the International undergraduate admissions I and second the International Undergraduate admission II and now i am confused if both ways are completely in english or (if you look at the discription on the application guide) if it is just the International undergraduate admission II (p.s. i am also intrestet in the Business major - Business administration)
i would be really grateful to you if you could answer the question and i hope i didn't wrote it to complicated.
I have completed and submitted common app for Yonsei underwood college and now see people are sending mails to them. Should I resubmit it with their website and send my documents by mail?
Hi, thanks for this video! I have been looking at the application guidebook for a while but it looked like so much! You Made it seem so much more simple..:) I don’t know if you mentioned this but can I ask what your GPA was? Because the only vids I have seen about admissions were the scholarship students and they had high GPA’s next to extracurricular,so I’m curious how your gpa was getting in?
Can you tell me which is the best engineering university in Korea? Especially for Computer science.

Does anyone have a video recommendation like this but for Seoul national university? :(
Hey Cathy,
It's quite an informative video.
She's not a GKS scholar. She applied as an international student so she can apply to more than one
@@tifeosindele3819 yes yes, I know she isn't a GKS scholar. I just mentioned the scholarship because I wasn't sure if you generally can apply to multiple universities, or if the process is similar for both situations. So thank you very much for clarifying my doubt!
I'm from Myanmar and now I attend IGCSE O level program. Can I attend Seoul National University after IGCSE.I didn't finish high school tho. What do I need to do?
How much did you need saved in your bank account to get the visa?
sooo cuuttee Cathy :) yours truly aka Anna

I'll be 17 year old after graduating high school in june but you must apply for universities and scholarships in march which means I will waste a whole year to apply missing so many other opportunities and I was wondering if I could apply before my graduation or something
Hey cathy ! I have some questions ,
I'm 11grader in India and i literally knw nothing about applying for abroad universities , i'm majored in Science , so SAT isn't a must thing to apply ryt? And do i need to take any entrance test?
I hope you'll see this
HELP! Korea University is asking for an original certificate of deposit signed or sealed by my bank. I mailed them my bank statement, but it wasn’t “signed or sealed”. I called my bank and asked them what they can do to comply with this. They emailed me a letter of account status, which I don’t think will cut it. What did you send them from your bank that satisfied their requirement? My response window is short so I need to figure this out quickly. Thanks!
I wanna know that for letter of recommendation we have to give contact information of our any teacher or we can also give someone else's info other than our teachers???
Thank you for this information.
But, I want to be sure about something.
You only explained the process on how to mail your documents, and the requirements.
What about uploading them?
Do I notarize and apostille the required documents for upload too, or I do that for the documents to mail only?
Thank you.
When I applied, I don't think they had the uploading system in place. That may have started it because of COVID and the difficulty of applicants mailing their documents. So I can't answer your question well-- sorry!
Hey I wanna study engineering in ku… can u explain more bout the price…plzzzz cathyyyyyy
Moreover in Google it’s showing that it will cost 11000 dollars fr 1 year of studies in ku- plz explain broooo and after getting accepted do we need to give any other exams like entrance or stuff
how long were your essays paragraph wise? thank you so much for this video it was very helpful !!💕
Maybe 10 sentences?
@@cathyinkorea okay thank you
Hi, thank you so much for your video it's incredibly informative. I have one question though and I have not been able to find the answer anywhere.
@@cathyinkorea Thank you so much!!!
I have 5A’s and 4B’s for my O/level exam. Can i apply still without my A/ls?? ( do they accept students only graduated from high school? )
Hey! Sorry if this is a silly question but, right now I'm 10th grade (highschool ends at 12th grade, I am now 15 y.o) and this university is one of my goal universities that I'm thinking of applying, when should I start getting more into this application process? Now or in 11th grade, or in 12th grade etc? FYI I also want to take IELTS when the time comes
I am 11th in I am live in Nashville I really want to go to korea college but I still don’t know what to do? When get in senior
Thank you so much
What do I do if I’m adopted? Do I need my biological parent’s information?
Hii, I'm a high school student of the economic sector in Italy. I wanna study at SNU but i really need to know some questions :
Are South Korean universities' degrees valuable outside of South Korea?
Hey! Is teachers recommendation required? Because i plan to take one year break because i dont want to rush my graduation with transfers to korea uni
Please dear it’s necessary that I should submit my patients passports too cause they don’t have
Is topik is must while applying i don't have any only ielts
Hello! Do you happen to know if they need the official final grades or can you send the predicted grades?
if you haven't graduated already then you send your incomplete transcript during the application process, and then when you get accepted and finally graduate, you send the final transcript
plz show appling process i cant find any video
Hi Cathy~ When you did the apostille stamp did they ask for both the secretary of Chicago state and the federal? Or just Chicago?
Mmm if you live in Chicagoland just go to the secretary of state office downtown! There should be only 1 office I think and it’s the only place you need to go to
What programs are available in fully English mode of instruction in ku
Does anyone know if I should staple my documents together? Like my self-introduction is 2 pages, do I have to staple them? Or use any paper clips?
I have the same question😣
ruclips.net/video/eQOTNi78EQ0/видео.html
Hey Cathy I wanted to ask if you submit your original documents or photo copies that are apostill did you submit your original documents
Is your graduation finished im watching this so late
Did you have to get it just notarized or notarized translation
What should I do if my parents do not have a passport and are unwilling to get one?
I have a question! I'm only 1/4th korean, is that enough to disqualify me?
Hello how can one create a single ID because I'm not able to access the online application
I am taking running start (college classes for both high school and college credit) at my local community college. Do you think that they will count those credits that I earn from the community college?
mm maybe? i'm not too sure about that situation so you should email the office of admissions!
This is my first timeto try to apply to korea university and im trying to figure it out but thank you for the video but questions how do you send them all of your important stuff
Hey!! I am applying next month for the Spring 2025 semester. Have you applied yet? I would love to have someone go there with me. I dont wanna be all alone😭
Thank you soooo much ...💜💜
Do i need to be proficient in Korean language to study in Korea university? My major will be Masters English
I plan on applying to Yonsei for fall of 2022 I’m trying to figure out the dates and for general units it’s saying 2023.3.2 i don’t know when the application starts and I’m so very confused
So does this mean the application doesn’t open till March 2nd?
Yea the application doesnt open till then but there should be a guide on line of wht you can start preparing since notarizig and getting the apostille takes some time
Im also applying for fall 2022
Hey...I just wanna know wht ur gpa is?I'm in india,so I just converted my percentage to gpa and I've 3.4/4.3 gpa scale....do I still have chance?
Can you tell more details about animation courses in korea university's and scholarship details/pls reply
@@cathyinkorea thank you so much for telling me, really appreciate the vlog you gave and etc. Hwaiting!
I just passed class 12th this year... And im gonna turn 18 next year... So can i apply for UG post in KU.??

Anyone applying in 2023?
So are you sending the original document such as a birth papers and if so is there any policy for if it gets damaged or lost
Do they take any interview? If do, what kinds of questions they ask? I took SAT and scored 1220(Math 710, other -510). Will it effect my application?
Thank you.
If we choose 3 universities can we send just the copies of our diploma not the original one?
so i am planning on taking a gap year but taking in consideration all these documents that i need, should i just not??
Hello! I am curious about something.
You applied for three different universities, right?
So did you have to apostille and notarize the same documents three times? or did you just take certified copies of the apostilled and notarized documents? (or something like that)
I am asking this because apostille and notarized translating documents in my country are quite expensive so I am a little worried about it lol
Hello, has somebody answered yet? Or maybe you have found some information by yourself? If yes, could you share with me, please? I’m curious about it too
Hi, I'm sorry for the late reply. I had to email the universities I desired to apply and ask if they accepted a certified copy or not. @@desiria14
Heyy if you want to apply for a scholarship do you need to wait until you’re accepted ?
