This comment belongs to people who write that I forgot to add some racing games. This video is called "Cockpit View in 40 Different Racing Games" and no "Cockpit View in All Racing Games". If I had to add every single game in which there was a cockpit view to the video, there would be a lot of them here. However, I didn't have how to shoot some games as they are only available for the Xbox console. Thank you for understanding.
Project Cars is simply the true Shift 2, made by the same team and have same cameras including the helmet cams but a much more realistic game. NFS Shift 2 is not a true sim either. I totally liked it, but the more I played the worse it gets. At the beginning it's pretty cool and with a butter smooth gameplay but with later faster cars the gameplay is awful in my opinion.
NFS nowadays is know for its extensive customization, I think it would be cool if they go one step further and, in addition to adding a cockpit view, also addi interior customization, if non racing games like GTA V can do that, then why not NFS? Maybe it's just laziness.
NFS was ahead of everything back then. In terms of cockpit view, ilumination and atmosphere; Old NFS, Dirt 2, Shift, TDU2 and Driveclub, were truly game changer and set really high standards. For the newest generation I can really tell. Maybe GT7 or Forza Horizon 5 could set the new standard.
Assetto Corsa is a 2014 game that to this day has among the best graphics, realistic cockpits, lighting, shading and most importantly among the best physics models in the entire racing world. All you need to do is do your research about CustomShader Patch + Sol + High quality car mods in the community. Forza Horizon will never have good cockpit views unless they decide to actually let the steering wheel turn fully instead of only 270° and adjust the FOV GT7 might be interesting tho however with nothing showcased yet
@@nSanityy Problem is it’s all due to mods and to have everything you listed in a mod, it’d need to have an extremely high quality. With the CSP update even some of Kunos’ cars in-game are starting to look outdated.
Never understood why the steering wheel turned so little in The Crew 2, as someone who usually plays in cockpit view, it's kind off annoying, looks like the car it's driving itself.
If I'm not wrong there are some error on their programming build that make the animation is broken. Same as the useless front headlight They can't fix it, so they embrace it. Hope it will be fix on tc3
It's the the opposite of ACC in this clip. A tiny adjustment means a 90° steering input for a millisecond. And a lot of those little adjustments make it look like it's going crazy.
For a game with no manual transmission option, the details on the interior is pretty amazing. Tanner can use manual, paddle shifters and column shifter accurately. Heck, tanner even use bus/truck steering wheel correctly, since the steering wheel is angled downward
Many games of this list have 360 steering but only if you use a wheel. Driveclub is one of the very few games that has 360 with gamepad too which is great!! And since we are here, I'm very disappointed gran turismo never had 360
Nice progression of driving games over 25 years, from simple SD graphics way up to highly detailed graphics well into the 1080p 4k area, I can imagine in another 4 or 5 years real driving and simulated driving like this will be virtually indistinguishable from each other.....
Assetto corsas interiors are just really atmospheric. The movement is good and the interior noises are PHENOMENAL, especially in race cars without insulation.
Honorable mention to the very first Test Drive game. It was one of the fist games with more or less realistic cockpit view (had no other views in fact).
Better graphics? It's slowly 10 years old and still looks awesome. :) I would buy DC2 even with these visuals. And about gameplay, it's simcade racer. Enough realism not to ruin the fun, enough fun not to ruin the realism. I see no reason for changing that.

I dont know why but the crew 2 annoys the hell out of me. The crew 1 was phenomenal and then they went all in with festivals and lost the whole grit that the original game had. Oh and the graphics look sub par.

You see how ridiculous it looks on The crew 2 and it has decent physics for an arcade, now imagine how it would look on the new NFS games stupid "drift to turn" physics.
@@Eraghost Lmao in NFS Heat is opposite. You might look NFS 2015/Payback which came in 3-5 years ago. There sliding it doesn't give you a boost and most of the times it is used as stopping just like the ski but I agree how arcady this is.

I also always use the cockpit view as it is the only one that makes sense and lets you feel the most realism. And people also think I am weird, as they use weird and unrealistic hood views or something.
Nfs shift had great inside cameras, but for me (after having experienced them) driveclub is just the winner in so many aspects in so many ways, the inside view gives you a speed sensation like no other game I really love driveclub, too bad it was killed I hope we can have at least a new NFS Shift, sounds more real than driveclub 2

Shame, he didn't showcase the Helmet Cam. Personal favorite to use it since you don't need racing line assist.
Shift 2 is my favorite race simulator game, its a shame that it gets impossible to win races at the end in the gt3 series

Sadly the old NFS had cockpit view, while the newest NFS didn't. I hope they will bring it back in the next NFS
