The Fix for Zippo Butane Lighters -

- If you have a Zippo lighter with a butane conversion insert in it and this insert starts malfunctioning, you may wish to try this hack which is presented here. Basically, what is needed is for you to bleed or purge the butane tank so that all remaining air bubbles are vented out. This entire butane system will work a lot better. This #Shorts video will show you how to vent or purge these Zippo butane conversion inserts. #Shorts was captured using my iPhone XS Max. #Shorts #Zippo #butane #lighters #ZippoLighters #ButaneLighters #butanefuel #fire #flame #lightermaintenance

Thanks Kyle. I appreciate the comment > 🙂
Works like a charm !
Thank you James
Howdy there Spoon. I am glad this worked for you. THANKS for commenting > 🙂
Are you satisfied with the product? Would you recommend it?
Hello Fat. Well to be honest, I set this lighter up to be part of a survival pack. In other words, it does not get used on a regular basis like for striking up cigarettes. YES I like this product and YES I can recommend it. Hope this helps > 🙂
A thousand blessings to you sir, I have a torch lighter that I got as a memento from my uncle in mexico, been trying for MONTHS to refill this thing. Thank you!! 🎉🎉
Hello Jack. I just read about this "Zippo Fix" some place and I don't even remember where..!! This weird little shorts video has become one of my most viewed. THANKS for watching and THANKS for commenting. All good Bro > 🙂
Great video! Straight to the point. Thank you sir🙏🏾
Howdy Steven. I am very glad you liked the video. Every once in a while I will get things right > 🙂
You can use the can, just like you refill but press it lightly. It will release the pressure, then press harder to refill.
You could also ignite it and hold it down until it's empty. Just blow the flame out so it doesn't overheat.
THANKS!! Your input here is more than appreciated and welcome > 🙂
worked on my zippo butane, thanks james
Hello Akram. THANKS for watching the video. Glad my advice worked >🙂
it works!!!! thank you so much!
Hello Marco. You are very welcome. These kinds of butane inserts can get trickey at times > 🙂

Thanks Jim!
You are quite welcome > 🙂
Thanks for this video James! I learned how to smoke cigars as a very young man, my co-workers taught me before I went to use the GI Bill. It's been years later, I graduate soon and wanted a smoke to celebrate. I couldn't figure out what was going on and remember they said the same thing you said forever ago haha. Now I won't forget. Cheers!
Howdy Pablo. Well you are quite welcome my man. Thanks for watching and commenting > 🙂
What is the little twisty thing on the bottom
Hello Sage. That little slotted knob is how you adjust the flame on this lighter. In other words, plus or minus. THANKS for the question > 🙂
Thanks for the clear instructions I going to refill my Pikachu lighter that my friend got me and going to get some butane refill. Thanks for the instructions for 6 seconds :)
Hello Dekachu. You are quite welcome ..!! THANKS for reading and commenting > 🙂
Thank you, kind sir. Fixed it right up

Hello there PAV. THANKS and I appreciate you watching and commenting > 🙂
Cheers Jim, worked for me!
Hello. I am sure glad that this video helped you. THANKS for commenting > 🙂
I use the same thing to purge my lighters. Lol. Its share enough but not too sharp and lets a tiny bit more to come out faster.
Hello Rafael. Yes this is just a darning hook. Works well. THANKS for watching and for commenting > 🙂
@@JamesBoren Yeah it a yard hook or whatever from the crafts section. I bought it just for that use. I cut it and added a drip tip to the top to make it a nice looking tool.
@@rafaeltorre1643 🤗😀
Woah! Thank you wise man! This worked for me clippers
Hello Jhamar. I am glad that the fix worked for you. Such a simple matter > 🙂
Great video Jim
Hello! THANKS for watching and for commenting. MERRY CHRISTMAS > :-)
Now what do I do with my butane bluid?
Hello J. Well you put your butane in your lighter tank so that it can be used :-)
I know it may make sense to use zippo butane on a zippo lighter but i must say zippo makes some of the worst butane there is. I highly recommend a better butane. There are many other than zippo brand that are stellar
Hello User. I think that you are correct with your statement here. THANKS ...!! >> 🙂
Saved my life Sir. I was about to have a conniption fit and die. So thank you.
Hello 2 Seconds. LOL ....!! Please don't die. I am certainly glad that you found my weird little video here helpful. THANKS for the humor as well > 🙂
Thanks Jim! 👍
Hello Sorcerer. Well you are certainly welcome. Just a Zippo hack that I discovered might help somebody. THANKS for commenting > 🙂
I subbed cause he talks just liken my uncle
Hello Peter. Yes my voice is about 3 or 4 octaves lower than most folks. THANKS for subbing and for commenting here. Greatly appreciated > 🙂
Got that?
Thanks, Jim!
Hello Brandon. Well you are certainly welcome. THANKS for watching and commenting > 🙂
hey james, zippo armor with torch insert its not perfect close or what?
Hello Sapta. I hope that I am understanding your question! Forgive me if I am not. You are wanting to know if a Zippo Armor lighter can close with these torch inserts?? If I remember correctly, I think that they CLOSE just fine. However I think there were a few problems with the older Zippo lighters. I hope this helps > 🙂
@@JamesBoren yaa james, its not fit , all armor zippo not fit on butane torch
@@saptahadi23 Hello again. Yes I think that you are correct. Zippo lighters have gone through a few changes over the years. THANKS for letting me know > 🙂
@@JamesBoren what about you have one on vdeo? its fit?
@@saptahadi23 No because I just put this lighter together for a survival pack. I thought that a butane insert would work better than a liquid insert for this purpose. I do not use this lighter on a daily basis.
Thanks uncle!
You are most welcome > 🙂
Mime exploded and I had to have 6 titanium rods placed in my hand.
Hello iLL. I am sure sorry to read this. I would imagine that anything charged with butane could be dangerous. THANKS for the heads up > 🙂
it worked 😮 but i used a tiny flat screedriver it works much better. BUT thanks😅
Hello Haider! Yes you are correct. THANKS for watching and for commenting > 🙂
Thx James
Hello OWrite. You are quite welcome. THANKS for commenting and for watching > 🙂
guy at the smoke shop says the opposite but my stuff only works when i do let the air out
Hello Lildec. Yup these lighters can get pretty weird at times. Just do whatever works. THANKS for watching and for commenting > 🙂
Thanks for the tip🙏
Hello Anton. THANKS for your comment. I almost missed your post here > :-)

muchas gracias señor, saludos.
Buenos Dios Monty. Gracious Amigo..!! > 🙂
its dont need high intellegence to do that, thing is what should we do when the clicker broken.
Hello Ridwan. You are absolutely correct..!! Those strikers can become a real problem. I don't know what the fix might be. Maybe remove the striker from an old Zippo and use for a replacement ..?? THANKS for commenting > 🙂
thanks for the respon, mr james... maybe you can show me how to fix or replace the striker/sparker of this kind of insert 🙂
@@ridwangaluhwiraksa1987 Hello Ridwan. On the older Zippo lighters using liquid fuel, the only thing to fix was installing a new FLINT in the bottom of the fuel container. On these newer butane inserts, I am not sure how to fix these strikers. I am just hoping that nothing goes wrong with them 🙂
Hello Jim, Zac from hot springs mt. I never seen those type of zippo before, interesting.
Howdy there Zac. Yes these old fashioned Zippo lighters can now be converted to butane. BTW, Zac I have been to Hot Springs many times in my life. I graduated from Polson High School back in 1970. THANKS for commenting > 🙂
Warning! Do not buy these pieces of crap.
👍
I have had three different ones fail smh..
Your Shaking u Party Hard
Howdy there Mana. THANKS for the comment and thanks for watching > 🙂
How come everytime I do this NOTHING WORKS? I buy a brand new lighter it dies in 2 weeks. I buy butane fluid. Refile it as every youtube video makes it look easy and takes 2 secons. I do it, my lighter sounds like a bunch of bee's going to war in my lighter. I wait 3 secs of refilling it and letting it warm. It doesnt work!? WHY???????????????????????
Hello Jeramiah. Try this. You need to turn your butane insert upside down. Then you need to PURGE or bleed out that tank as shown in my video. MAKE SURE you bleed out that insert all the way!! Refill your insert with a SIX to SEVEN second blast from your refill bottle. Once refilled then PURGE that tank or insert out AGAIN. REPEAT this action a few times. What you are doing is bleeding out EXCESS AIR that is trapped inside your tank or insert. MAKE SURE that you refill your tank or butane insert all the way!! Once done a couple of times your lighter should start working. Have patience my friend > 🙂
P.S. Also MAKE SURE that the little nozzle on your butane refill bottle is fitting into the insert valve correctly. Shake up that refill bottle real well before using it. I hope this helps > 🙂
@@JamesBoren Thanks brother I can't stress enough it just wont give. As I was reading it was like you annotated exactly what I did word for word and nothing bud I give up. This is the 2nd time ever this happened. I guess its just not meant.
@@jeremiahmillan4487 Sorry for your troubles. I just keep my butane zippo lighter around for survival purposes. I sure do not use it every day. Maybe you are having a run of bad luck with this whole zippo thing...???
Скажи на ней написано Китай 🇨🇳 это оригинал ?
Hello Cepren. I can only speak English but THANKS for your comments here > 🙂
@@JamesBoren Hi, tell me, is this the original ? It says China at the bottom
@@SS13Kitaev Hello. The brass case is made in the USA but the butane conversion insert is made in China. It's weird, I know!
