@@BEBETTERGOLF I know it’s difficult because you are trying to feel something different anyway of doing video with him for someone who slices and how it would be different thanks love the video
Oh man, I've gotten that right bicep pain a couple of times this year and couldn't figure out what I was doing differently. This helps a lot with understanding what was going on.
AMG have a ton of amazing content on how the arms and shoulders move comparing tour pros to ams. The pros protract the lead shoulder but they dont adduct the lead arm across the chest. They show the pros adduct 18 degrees Vs 43 degrees for ams. Interesting that JT is asking you to point your lead arm 45 degrees inside the target line and drag your lead arm onto your chest with your trail arm. AMG say dragging the lead arm across the chest is a swing killer. Their 3D modelling shows pros lead arms are 11 degrees inside the target line at the top Vs over 40 degrees inside for ams. Ive been working on less adduction of the lead arm, but its hard to argue with the gains you show here, so this vid is a head scratcher for me. BTW another poster here points out that your practice swing at 21:43 without all the bob and weave is killer (but not so much the club path or face), I suspect this advice is a nugget for you.
I like this guy! Brandon, you have a tendency to come off the ball upward as you start your swing. Your head is moving upward and back as you start the swing so then it has to come back down and then up again. Since you mentioned Cam Champ in the video I'll use him as an example, Cam's head goes downward as he takes the club away opposite of what you're doing. Also, your full speed practice swings don't have this raising up motion. When you just stand there and swing @ 21:43 without all the bobbing around it's absolutely fantastic and I bet the clubhead speed was up as well. The reason I mention this is that all that bobbing around will slow you down. Basically, your swing has to wait for all of the bobbing to happen, so if you can remove it from the equation you can actually move less and therefore faster. Imagine if you were to magically double your shoulder and arm speed, you'd never be able to bob around fast enough to match your shoulders and arms. That bobbing around requires gravity and so it takes a certain amount of time to happen and can't really happen any faster ... but it can be removed completely allowing you to swing as fast as you can without this speed governor slowing you down.
@@BEBETTERGOLF I thought a little more about this. Think of jumping up and down twice. In order to jump the second time you have to wait for gravity to bring you back down to the ground from the first jump, but the first jump was able to happen almost instantaneously because there was nothing to prevent it. So, when you raise up or bob upward you can't lower yourself any faster than gravity will allow so you have to wait for that to happen before you can then perform your second upward thrust as you move through the ball. Solution: remove the first jump and instead only prepare for what would have been the second, but will now the first and only thrust.
@@HolyGrailOfGolf Cool! I follow you there but you haven't posted in a while. It's true you can not swing the clubhead. I swing the handle or really I feel the weight just a few inches past my grip. Then let it rip
Brendan you are swinging very well. Nice job and really like the different styles of teaching. Jt and milo i really like their process , dr. K and mike m. Are good.
This move from external rotation to internal rotation at impact, for anyone wondering, is a brilliant explanation of what Pete Cowen is saying with his 'spin the arm down' except Pete elaborates on his 'spin the arm down' by telling you to 'spin the arm' 😂
This is my favorite driver swing I've seen you do. Looks very athletic, strong, and compact. Is it easier to rotate through this way? JT is really on to some things.
Can you elaborate more on the slicing feel? This feel makes you want to swing over the top or cut across it and it appears you have to be in a certain position on the downswing to really make this work - thanks.
Start of frozen shoulder , first stage , it’s a long process to get back to 18 - 24 months recovery , common problem with golfers . Shooting pain is agony for a few seconds . Lasts 3 months then the shoulder freezes second stage .
Simple question. In all the videos and all the different exposures to so many golf people and theories I must ask.......what have you learned? I'm 73 and have spent 60 years playing this game. Studying everything about it and I am no closer to any model of the swing. What do you think?
Someone please explain why JT told him to try and slice it by swinging across the ball. What impact position does this create that made the ball go straight and far?
So I did this yesterday and I thought since my face would be open I would shank it. I found this not to be true. In fact it was hard to slice it. I killed the ball too. Great concept
One of the best tools in learning how to play golf (if you are an athlete) is to mimic positions of golfers in still frame photos with same build, height, tempo ect........................ If you can do that, you are on your way to shooting in the 60s most days. Good video brandon, but you can do this in your house/apt using mirrors and photos.
These are some of the best sqings Ive seen you male yet, youve lost that hitch in your swing. Now you have a smooth transition to your forward swing ✌️
Excellent question! I would think not only because I use my Irons to target shoot ( accurate distance ). My Driver mentality is to hit as far as I can but maintain direction. My Irons are precision tools.
Brendan I think you should visit Adam Porzak down in San Diego County. I see the issue being very bad early extension because your set up is causing you to not be able to turn and rotate properly. Specifically your right leg over extends and your get your right hip too much on top of it and then push off of it. If you set up by bumping the hips forward and inch while not tilting the shoulders and focus on keeping the pressure on the inside of your right foot it will help you turn properly. What the pros do is they turn inside of their feet so their tailbone actually points towards the target in the backswing. You are moving laterally a lot and getting your arms behind your turn, which requires early extension to make contact.
I think this is a really good video. It was just poorly videoed we needed to see the view from the front to understand what the hell you’re talking about
I don't like the way he is leading you to force your movements. You look like loosing your natural balancee and stability; also, you are crossing the club at the top of the backswing so, staying out of the plane
Complete 100% “paralysis by analysis” bullshit personified-and absolutely nothing more. “Arm lines” and “external vs internal rotation”- will the bullshit ever end???
It's obvious.. the difference in what you are doing is visibly different from before and after... great feels to share.. thanks.

This a really good explanation of the relationship between the backswing punch and the right hand stretch!
Unfortunately for you, we are discussing “golf” not “boxing.”
One of the best videos for an athletic golf swing! This changed my game

Love the slice feel with the shoulder and dropping the arms. Great swings.

Brendon great stuff as always i so immediate added distance do you ask JT if this is the same concept for irons

This all rhymes with what Kelvin Miyahira has been pointing out for years. great stuff
Is this move just for driver? Should it be applied to irons too?

grats that it feels so much better!
The best and easiest method to play with! Arms and hands are way easier to do

So I was hitting the drives straight but wanted more distance, so I tried this and started spraying the drives left and right. 😢
Would this create so much tension that the hook will eventually come up again and again.?.? Golf is so incredibly complicated!
That’s the best your swing has looked
His swing looks insane there..reminds me of garretts of good good
Simple truth we often forget: a bad shot when trying to change a pattern is actually a good result. It means we’re really changing the mold.
Lol, I was a bit confused seeing the ball hook like crazy and JT was like “THATS PERFECT” once I added slice it with the body it was awesome
I agree. It’s hard to change long time habits. I have to tell myself it’s not bad if I’m shanking or thinning or chunking shots when trying new things
This works for iron?

If it's a shooting pain, it could be a herniated disc in the cervical spine.
Closest I've come to not flipping the club. EVER
Brandon looking like he swings as fast as the longest hitting pros on tour.
I like it but I would be really concerned about a trail shoulder injury with all that excessive pulling to get up
