The best part of this pod is bringing humanity to names. Really enjoy the episodes that help fill in the history of the sport. One of your best episodes! Go Nate!
Uli is a genius!!! Match play at de la is the best idea I've heard in years. The tour needs de la. With it being a one-off event, certain pros can avoid it and the real disc golf grinders will love it. It is absolutely the perfect course to host that event and that event would be better than any skins match on RUclips
Why does the tour need de LA? I'm not saying it doesn't.... I'm just curious why you feel it needs it so much... Its not a great course to spectate or watch live... Insane amount of blind hard to follow shots... I get having another Cali event maybe to get more west coast representation... Maybe nostalgia if you wanna try and hold onto something outdated... But I just don't see the draw for the tour to ever bother with it. I've been watching since before 2016 and have watched it many times.
Day one listener here, as a disc golfer who has only been playing about 3 years, there hasn’t been an interview I was more excited for than this here! Loved every second of it.
Brodie and Uli are the best tag team interviewers in dg media. Stoked to watch Nate play again soon-such a smart, articulate, cool, and funny dude. No doubt that his commentary will continue to improve
Love when big dawg doss is commentating he’s great 🤙🏻 on the other hand I don’t dislike like philo but when he’s teamed up with Ian it’s not a good match at all. Philo is constantly talking over and assuming he needs to correct Ian. He also acts like since he was a touring pro his opinion is the only one that’s valid. Brodie I would definitely love to see you in the booth once you’re playing career is over hopefully that’s not soon though.
1:32:59 what about introducing max score per hole? Like shoot double the par and that's your score without finishing. That way, on a par 3 island hole you could only have three throws from the box and then you're out.
It’s kinda funny that Nate used Ezra Robinson as an example of poor mental strength and then at the end said he wished he had Isaac Robinson great mental strength. Oof 😂
I have always noted how Doss wanted to improve his commentating and his hard work has been showing this year. Great show fellas! I happily listened from start to finish. I would love to make it to Bend someday. Good luck at the BSF Nate 🤟🏻
Great guest. I love Nate. I feel like a lot of his commentator haters are younger people. A lot of us older guys that grew up watching Nate, seem to really appreciate his commentary.
I have a crazy story about Nate’s dad. Most clutch throw with split second reaction time I’ve ever seen. He probably got sued but I applaud him to this day.
Doubles has to be an at epic course with eagle opportunities and big shots so the big crazy shots can be showcased. Toboggan with relaxed OB and slight par changes?
Captain level for over a year. I do it for the love of the pod not any benefits. I just want this to continue forever and consider it worth 25 or whatever a month. Best dg non-playing content out there. Don't leave the sport brodie! We need Ya and more like Ya!
For sure. I'm not really the type to critique or complain. I'm watching disc golf, I'm not sitting there paying attention to the details of commentary. If it's bad enough that it just gets on my nerves and takes away from my enjoyment I'll just turn it off. Not saying everyone should be like me, I'm just always a little surprised by the amount of complaining about the commentary because it never even enters my mind.
In regards to Nate’s putting. What baskets were they using most? Dudes can just fire it in on most baskets now. Couldn’t do it back then in Mach 3’s lol.
Incredibly hard disagree with Doss' take around 1:18:30 that harder courses where players shoot around par are not entertaining. I think the harder courses are the most fun to watch. The best case scenario is when you have tough courses that also lead to tough decision making. For instance, the skins match for 50k at Eagle's crossing where Calvin and Uli went head-to-head is one of the best productions in disc golf. Same goes for the skins match where Stokely takes it home. I don't think that would have been as dramatic on a much easier course.
He didn't say that. He said he thinks courses that play -7 to -11 are the best for entertainment value for disc golf. Which may or may not be true. Champions cup was the most entertained I've been all year. So I'm agreeing with you a little more on this one.
Nate Doss was a great interview! And tell him and Kenny to go watch all the Foundation videos that took place at New London. There's a TON of footage of New London. lol And they even made a video at Ivy Hills. Just saying. :)
What do you guys think of bringing the tour to Utah with an elite series event at The Fort in Ogden? To me this course embodies a ton of the characteristics of a “great course” that you guys talked about.
Always enjoy the podcast. Uli, please do not sit in front of a window unless the blinds are closed. A bright window causes your face to be dark & grainy.
Great content. As far as course design I feel some courses I do not want to see players have to throw so far that they get hurt from doing reps. that make them get hurt. Courses can get much better. Not every hole has to be 650 to 1200 feet that is just a recipe for getting hurt.
Not considering Ezra Aderhold for the president's cup discussion should be criminal. Sure he's not the most consistent guy ever but his ceiling is so high and he's been on a tear recently. I'd take him over Isaac, Eagle, Matty O, Cole, Goose, McBeth and Presnell in current form for sure. Kyle and Ezra Robison would be closest contenders imo.
Brodie: Asks a question Nate Doss: Starts to answer Brodie: What I meant by that question was actually xyz Might just be me but some of the questions are very baity. Seems like Brodie wants him to answer a certain way, then when he doesn’t answer the way Brodie wants, he gets interrupted and Brodie goes on to explain himself. Let the man talk lol
The reason you can’t get all players on board to just play faster which seems like easy common sense to accomplish, is the same reason you can’t get people to stay out of the damn left lane when not passing: many people are stupid and/or selfish.
What??? FPO and MPO are combined! Lame. I'm out. Couldn't care less about it if this is the case. Keep 'em separated is the ONLY way to go here. Maybe DG leadership needs to step back and look again. Uli is correct about De La and the match play and doubles events. Please learn from Golf, please.

you're telling me there's a real life Leroy Jenkins. that is wild 😂😂
I didn't make that connection in my head but yea. But I mean of course there's people with the name Leroy Jenkins. Probably thousands of them.
Uli said it best, disc golf needs Nate Doss. Dude is a walking, talking disc golf encyclopedia with the passion to match.
This was a fantastic interview. Doss is the man.
This was a top notch interview. He is fantastic. And so professional.
Barry Shultz deserves his own show. Steve Rico would be fantastic to highlight the old west coast scene

If Champion's Cup can't be at WR Jackson, or Northwoods, take it the freakin Iron Hill!
I’d agree, especially since they put all this money into the course to keep it a tour stop and then dgpt just dropped them
I think that is a great idea, it's a course that a lot of different pros could win
At about 1:20 (Uli’s rant about Christmas tree farm). Augusta National was carved into a shrub nursery. That’s why the holes are named after plants.
1:32:59 what about introducing max score per hole? Like shoot double the par and that's your score without finishing. That way, on a par 3 island hole you could only have three throws from the box and then you're out.

Change the game forever. Run up or falling forward only allowed on drives. No more 500 ft second shots into a par 5.
Doubles has to be an at epic course with eagle opportunities and big shots so the big crazy shots can be showcased. Toboggan with relaxed OB and slight par changes?

It’s possible that a Ryder Cup type disc golf tournament would attract the attention of a major network. This would be huge for disc golf.
Most people who appreciate and enjoy the commentary don’t comment.
And don’t forget to like for the homies!

48:50 Anhyzer putt is the way to go. Doesn't work inside C1 though. Anything beyond C1 I putt anny
Same, circle 2 putt my soft zone. Put it hard on a slight anny. Sits relatively close to the basket too
@@Ivypoison23 cool..if it's a long enough putt it flexes out and hits right side of basket? That's how I try to get my longer ones to hit

I couldn’t agree more with Nate’s take that the rounds can be long when live. If you can’t handle a long round just watch jomez
Always enjoy the podcast. Uli, please do not sit in front of a window unless the blinds are closed. A bright window causes your face to be dark & grainy.
In regards to a European Olympic team, since we are talking hypothetical has anyone mentioned Sepo coming out of retirement for something like that?
Definitely more likely to tune in live with the open chat
speed up play by removing the marking of disc, just throw from lie. and discs inside bullseye are gimmies.
Gotta get Doss on a practice round video, whether it’s Brodie and Ezra or Jomez.
Would be cool. I think its gonna be goose and Ezra now though with goose starting a channel and Brodie being more selective on tournaments.
Doss is the great
Gotta think about equipment in Nate's ear as well. Baskets discs etc...
Era. Duhh
European open will be hype. Presidents cup should be it’s own thing. However, Europe needs more pros on tour.
I want to know what pros think about Eagles Crossing and its potential.
Great content. As far as course design I feel some courses I do not want to see players have to throw so far that they get hurt from doing reps. that make them get hurt. Courses can get much better. Not every hole has to be 650 to 1200 feet that is just a recipe for getting hurt.
How do you not put Eagle in for Presidents cup assuming hes back to normal by the. He looked great last week and won EO 2 years ago
Avery Jenkins layed up a 20 footer on hole 16 in 2021 worlds.
Not considering Ezra Aderhold for the president's cup discussion should be criminal. Sure he's not the most consistent guy ever but his ceiling is so high and he's been on a tear recently. Not a lot of footage of New London?!? Lol
You have intro music and it’s a Legend of Zelda song.
How do you not put Albert Tham on that team
Hopefully Jesse N will get momentum and join Niklas and Simon at the top
