Congratulation to you and your wife, this is a very well put together report with excellent use of sound effects and music. The models are very well painted and showcased well. Keep up the good work and more artwork please!
why was it so easy for the chaos guys to wipe out the elven army in a handful of combats? it seems to be a rather onesided affair. also, ranged combat looks to be a less dominant option than in other games, or was ist just in this battle?
The Chaos knights took out the biggest threat to them, the silver helms, with a flank charge. Units charged in the flank suffer reduced attacks and Chaos knight cost almost as much as 2 units of silver helms. So, yeah try not to take chaos knights in the flank. Yes in Warmaster shooting is not as effective for killing units as it is with melee. This is intentional by design. What shooting does do though is confusing the enemy and slowing them down.
The Chaos player was also very active with his Dragon General. That's a very potent advantage to grant a unit, and Chaos in general tends to be better close up than Elves. The flip side of shooting is that usually the shooting units aren't bad in melee either. Elven archers cost 75 points to the spearmen's 60, and they're on a 6+ save rather than a 5+, but they still have 3 attacks in melee. They're going to do similar things to Spearmen most of the time, so there's less of an opportunity cost for taking shooting figures, artillery aside.

This was brilliant! The storytelling set the scene and the report was beautifully put together
I have been playing Mark of Chaos and I gotta say this captures the vibe of that quite a bit. I really enjoyed this this battle report.
Great battle report. I'd love to see more!

Great work! Love the use of sound. Of course it's sad that the elves lost, but warmaster always seems like a superior game.
