- Why not have another Octavia video since I got a lot of questions from my last short. In total I have my octavia prime built for range and some duration, just so I can sit around and watch everything die pretty much. I don't really use this build when i'm trying to play actively, but it's fun to jump on for 20 minutes to run a survival and get some loot. All in all not bad, obviously not a perfect build or anything. You can throw on rolling guard, adaptation, vitality, really whatever you want for some tankiness just in case. Pretty much steel path made easy if you farm with octavia prime. Have a good one all!

Hot take: Octavia is balanced.
She's super powerful, but I never play her despite that bc Metronome is a pain in the ass and destroys my pinky.

You can always make an alternate crouch button for instance mines B on my keyboard and I have toggle crouch for bullet jumping on my mouse.... that being said her scaling is kinda op she’s probably the only frame that can do content like this with no mods on at all... also she’s just not very fun like pupsker said if you wanna passively farm some stuff while you watch something or hell read something then why not pick her lmao

Wait, unironically, subsume Quiver onto her. Removes like 90% of the effort during camping.

@@Valkirth Warning: I tried it, and it wasn't as effective as I thought it would be. Turns out having invisibility attached to your movement, as opposed to not, is really nice.

I play her while being super active. Her 3 and 4 give so much buffs that she becomes a crazy melee / gunner frame. Definitely less safe (die randomly from stuff) but definitely fun.
Same here. Almost got a little offended when he said it was a "dumb" frame. Lol it's dumb because he's playing her in a dumb, boring way. Quite a few other frames can be "dumb" in similar ways too with the right builds like Saryn, Banshee, etc. Active Octavia is very fun. Sometimes I don't even use her invisibility.

If you wanna be even more lazy, replace one of her abilities with Mag’s pull and equip Greedy pull. Now you can stay in one spot and grab life support and loot without moving an inch.

i picked her up when she first came out as I love bards in games (main class i played in lost ark RU was a bard and scouter) and she fits that theme (only took me 9 hours to farm her), leveled her up and lol'd when I saw her range, even my brother who was playing rhino was like "dude that is busted", I use her for defence/interception.
While bard's are supports in most games.
This bard nukes enemy, best DPS, broken af.
Octavia is the best bard, too bad she makes the game boring though as she basically kills everything

Mallet is a line-of-sight ability. At some point high range is a waste of slot. Might want to go for more strength or duration.
If she got nerfed don't blame DE, blame the youtubers
It may be possible that she gets a nerf at some point but she has always been this busted. nobody likes her playstyle tho so her playrate is at rock bottom even though she just does everything for you.

@@nagarebushi that is true. When I say people don't like playing her because last time I checked her playrate was low for being as strong as she is. She is one of the few frames that can do most content without needing help from weapons (while also making weapons stronger if you want to use them). But she falls behind other less versatile frames in terms of play rate
adaptation and grace are pretty much useless on stealth frames, instead put rolling guard/strength/duration mod and arcane of your choice
Lol I know this is several months late but you’re right, rolling guard is gonna be way more useful against the only problem you run into, acolytes, who will 2-shot you regardless of whether or not you’re running adaptation. The invincibility should be long enough to kill them in one roll most times too.
Was finally able to unlock steel path, and immediately unlocked venus. This is a godsend when farming steel essence...

Unless its been fixed, last I checked mallet + resonator doesnt work on Xbox. Damage gets set to 10-11 and degrades from there, doesnt stack damage like its supposed to. Doesnt take away from her still being broken.

Tip: never use resonator, it's practically useless. Not using resonator, you're losing out on like 15-20% more damage with amp, but by using resonator, you are making it hard for enemies to shoot the mallet and hence the extra damage doesn't matter.
@Mauricio Ortiz what I'm saying is that although resonator gives extra damage, the damage becomes useless due to the fact that the resonator keeps moving and enemies keep chasing it while being out of range of the first ability.
By not using resonator, the damage source stays in one place and allows more enemies to be damage continuously instead of having them outside range.
@Mauricio Ortiz nothing. The rest of Octavia's kit can solo almost any content and steel path. If you really want, you could add an ability that increases damage even more, but that's a bit overkill imo
You can exchange resonator with Mag's pull ability and then you won't have to worry about oxygen tanks

Even knowing the buffs I still fight with her I hope they dont nerf her at least make it where you have to move for her buffs to be at full effect💯

They're not nerfing her, she does nothing other frames can't, she just does it in an insanely boring way.
You can stay an easy 1 or 2 hour SP survival with a ton of frames.
Remap crouch to the q keypad trust me. Don't have ctrl be your crouch button for Octavia.

Octavia. Invisibility, scaling damage , passive to replenish her energy hungry abilities You literally have to just press 4 different buttons every now and stand at same spot to play as Octavia

How does eclipse compare to octavia's 4.
If you subsume eclispe onto octavia's 4, will eclipses damage increase bonus aid octavia's other abilities better since octavia's 4 is limited to range? Or just leave it?
If I'm not mistaken, I don't think Eclipse with increase dmg for abilities, only weapons..
If you want, try subsuming Roar which will buff the dmg for abilities *and* weapons..
@@kpyt7647 it seems to be buffing hildryns abilities. I can nuke high levels with her 2+3 when eclipse is on, but without eclise her 2+3 barely nukes low level npcs (in missions rather than the simulacrum)

Pupsker are you saying she has infinite damage ?
Theoretically yes, practically no. Mallet's thing is that it does damage in its range to all enemies every time on the beat of the music. But it's capped that even if you make a fast beat or a slow beat the total damage is the same per melody length, which is the same. Also enemies agrro on it. The scaling part comes with enemies attacking the mallet which can never be damaged but gets increased damage for every damage it takes based on its multiplier. So as long enemies hit it it can go unlimited damage. But mallet is on a timer and when that goes it disappears and you have to cast another one that starts from the beginning again. So its damage is capped by the available enemies and your ability to stay alive in between ramp ups or the random enemy who gets aggro on Octavia instead of mallet or the various aoe damage enemies do.
Octavia is fun but it's gimmicky and not really that efficient for any role that i noticed until now.

Nah, it scales via damage received by enemies during mallet's lifespan, extra ability strength is just so it gets to bonkers damage numbers faster but ultimately doesn't really matter?
Strength is good for making your buff numbers bigger though but that largely won't matter for steel path

Id suggest getting rid of Resonator cause it doesn't work well with octavia. It doesn't work wel with mallet specifically due to resonator causing enemies to not attack it meaning much slower scaling. I use Breach Surge for an insane amount of damage, Dispensary if im going for more support, or Rest and Rage to speed up enemies towards Mallet
The most effortless survival ability: resonator. This is baby mode on any frame. Too easy. Not even fun.

The prime version of all the Warframe is just a money grab to DE. A mean, when compare with the normal status, they are both similar. The prime should be much more powerful than the norm. Buying the prime is a waste of money.

Yeah, octavia is my favourtite frame because i love making songs on mandachord and because she's stupidly broken. but that's what makes her fun and unique imo. people that don't like that can just play a different frame, but i hope DE doesnt nerf her.

I build Octavia purely for her abilities and then just use invisibility for her only survivability
I mean, that is how you play her.
What mandachord song are you using?
She's meh. Metronome is a pain to activate and doesn't last for too long either, not to mention that it eats your energy way to much and you need that for your mallet, as that too lasts too little, when it starts doing some decent damage it's time to go by bye and you have to pout a new one. Resonator seems nice but it's not really as it runs after enemies taking your mallet and its range in weird positions. It's overall interesting frame but not that good really. For farming i seen people using other frames like Nekros, Khora, Hydroid, Ivara. Seen peopel cleaning rooms with all sorts of frames way faster. And for a beginner going to clear steel path map points i think that Revenant is best for most missions because getting the objective is not difficult but surviving is and for others like spy stuff Limbo with shade works great, in some ways even better than an Ash or Loki because you can just bypass damage and triggering alarms without a care. For stuff like interception or disruption may be problematic because you need big damage there to clean enemies fast before taking your points or kill the demolishers. Probably for demolishers you would need a powerful ranged weapon because i seen they can cancel your abilities so if you go in with a Mirage basing your damage on your buffs you get screwed. And in that case if your main damage dealer is a pimped out ranged weapon, well, it would make Revenant even more attractive i'd say because there is where he's lacking.
In any of these situations i found Octavia quite lacking. Not enough damage burst, can't sustain abilities indefinitely to get that "infinite scaling", lacking in survivability or crowd control. Found it plenty of times where enemies aggro on Octavia when they were inside mallet's range. If would force all enemies go for mallet all times maybe would be a different story.
does this still work in 2023?
Buff00n is the only reason I have any great Octavia songs. My favorite go to song is Spooks by Dance Gaven Dance.

I found it way easier making a group and all 4 farming the blueprint at once, we got it in 2 rounds, solo I cracked 12 relics n got everything but the bp
