Give those jumper cables some love now. My 42 year old 00-gauge 12 foot jumpers (which cost me $100 Airman First Class dollars back in 1980) are still in awesome shape. I like your test, but the realistic way to test these is to charge it up, throw in in your trunk and forget about it for 3 months, then test it starting things. It's kind of like the spare tire. When is the last time most people checked air in them?
Spare tires are my number one annoyance in the shop! Anyone that knows me knows ill empty an entire trunk to get to the spare. And yes these things should hold charge for a long time. I will definitely do an updated review in a few months time. Thanks for viewing! I appreciate you
@@jeffheintz3163 just had this thing stolen on me but I been using it primarily since this video aired. It really is a good unit. Gonna have to buy one now 😭
Topdon seems to be clobbering the market. Everything from battery analyzers to booster packs. FYI all those leaves on the cowl waiting to block the drains😒 😁 Great video Lou! 👍🇨🇦
Thank you for the info. It will be good to hear user experiences with TOPDON JS3000 after two years+. Any idea how does it behave as a powerbank station? I suppose its designed to work at high peaks to start vehicles ok, but what about using it also as power bank station? Any opinions about this?
@@IamPetrus I loved this jump pack. It works great both ways. I brought it to the Toyota dealer when I worked there and it became the jump pack every one wanted to use and it eventually got stolen. 😡. Sales even bought two for themselves. You wont be disappointed. Only thing I did not like was removing the cables from the unit. It feels like the casing may crack. So I just left them plugged in . But it works excellent. And again I am not tryin to sell anything. I really loved this thing
Just bought this. The red cable wasn’t connected to the cable - but the screw was there. I screwed it in with a screwdriver - but have to find my hex screw thingy. It’s very light weight. Can both sides be used to power? Owner manual lacks specific info. Looks good, though. Thanks
hey i purchased a Volcano 1500 last year, and it started well for the first year.second year the terminal connection fell back into the body, which means i can not make any connections to terminals inside the body of the unit.I called top don and got the run around.I have asked them to send me there address so i could send them this defected unit.To date they have not,i also tried to use the flash light and now that does not work either.I GIVE TOP DON A SERIOUS THUMBS DOWN,ALONG WITH THERE CUSTOMER SERVICES DEPT.I WILL NEVER BUY FROM TOP DON AGAIN.
All my techs use mine allllll the time. Possible not using it properly? Or just buying used junk from ebay? Dunno, this thing is reallllly working well for us.
What do you use to charge up the JS3000 ? Example I have a 65w fast charger PD65W also QC3.0 ... Nothing in the instructions to say what Wattage it can be charged at ( pretty poor instruction supplied with product ) . I don't wish to shorten the life of the power pack or make it explode by using wrong charger ..
The charger it comes with is 2 amp I believe, I don’t think theres a cap to what you can charge it with, the more power the faster the charge. The less power the longer it takes to charge. I think the most the c chargers put out is like 16v? But still only a few amps. I dont think you can damage this thing by attempting to charge it.
16.3VDC output BEWARE!! Some of the Mercedes onboard electronics (HK Sound Amplifier) are built with 16VMax caps components. ie. you have a serious chance to surge your MB AMP above 15VDC. Jump pack is a good emergency tool but avoid regular usage. ✌️ Will the sound system still work: most likely yes with repairs around the corner. The engine ECM likely built with longer lasting parts. Normal use is with *battery in circuit*. A tired battery with hold normal voltage lower near 13 to 14v while boosted externally. Without a battery in circuit nothing to clamp the voltage safely.
Hi do you mean 16.3V output is when you connect it without the battery? But when connected with battery in place, it will regulate to approx 14V and hence is safe to use? Thanks
The only thing your could do more is make a video showing how to actually use it. I'm a widow and not a car woman. I'm going to have to really look into this just to not catch anything on fire.
Yeah man 😁. I love all S Classes , I managed to buy a nice 1995 W140 S320 XL this year for my collection . But I really do like the W220’s 👍 . Great video as always thanks mate 😎
It proves that it can, when new and fully charged, start a vehicle multiple times because it stores enough juice to do it. That's meaningful, especially since many jump starters can't do that.
Next I want to see how far you can drive with it. Disconnect alternator and hook that baby up! Also, who the hell puts batteries in the trunk? If you gotta Jump start you'll have to empty out your luggage etc. What if you have contraband? Guns or drugs? Or what if you're smuggling illegals in from Mexico? Mercedes needs to redesign that.
That is not real word testing. Try this on a car that is outside in the cold and hard to start in the first place. Your Video has not sold me on that product.
Topdon is crushing it from battery jump starters to scan tools great review subscribed looking forward to more content

Vacuumed before I left the shop ❤️ thanks as always 🙏
What about the gooloo 4000?
Excellent product review.
Awesome tutorial. I'm sold.
Be my 2nd TopDon purchase
For that price, please check the Hulkman 8.5. You can't bit the unit. All are pretty good, I look at value. I think the Hulkman is build better.
They have lots of bad reviews😢

So which is better, TOPDON JS3000 jump starter vs TOPDON V2200Plus? I would like to get either one of them.
I’ve just bought one so this review settles any doubts I should have bought a Noco. Thanks 👍🏻
The review proves absolutely nothing
It's supposed to start it with a flat battery which would drain the jump starter
GOOD VIDEO LOU THANKS FOR SHARING THAT INFORMATION VERY USEFUL 😊

Thanks for the review. I'm about to buy it. Only challenge is that Amazon isn't honoring the promo code. Any suggestions?
Hello, im checking on it now. I will reply back when I have more Information. My guess is the promo may be over but I will confirm soon.
Sorry the code is expired

do i have to disconnect my battery to use it or can i just put it on like jumper cables
You just attach it. It will power on.
@@MasterTechLou hey is there a email or instagram i can contact you from?
Why was the light flashing and making that noise?
It will do that when it overheats or when theres not enough battery voltage for the jump pack to kick on.

No, none of these work like that. They all cut out after a short time to prevent overheating and damage.
@@MasterTechLou thanks for the info.

I just saw it in AliExpress and it says it can charge a car refrigerator literally, do u think it's true?
yes I do. it has a DC output and I have faith that it will.

You're supposed to test it with a flat battery
Otherwise there's no point
Running it just from that proves nothing
