Can the ATS be controlled by a remote switch

    • @Steveuploads

I’ve never seen a Wi-Fi ATS . But if you want to swap between mains supply and back up supply you could have a contactor relay in the mains supply held energised constantly but have a Wi-Fi relay or socket energising it that you can turn off remotely. Although that Wi-Fi socket and the Wi-Fi house router would need to be fed from the mains or the back up supply inverter to allow you to re-energise that mains contactor relay

My apologies, I thought you were insulting my handiwork. The set up I have made is not supposed to be beautiful it’s just functional. I really cannot most of the will to do a neat job in that heat, but the job I have done has been working for the last three months through the rainy season through all the power outages without any problems so that is what matters in the end. Yes I do believe one of the coils burned out inside the failed ATS. The motor driven ATS we have now is better and I don’t mind the slower change over time because it notifies me that we have lost power and that it has been restored.
