- In this video I show you how to do a basic programming of a universal remote control model MX780 with the use of basic variables for devices that do not have discrete Power commands

Hey Jarrod, I been programming UrC remotes for some time now. However, I’ve never been able to understand what the variable function does in real world circumstances. Can you explain to me what would happen if the variable were not programmed? Ex: going from cable box back to Bd etc?
The variable is for devices that have a single command for on and off instead of separate commands. Its basically the remote making a note to itself that it has turned the device on or off. Without it if you wanted to watch a BluRay and hit that button to turn everything on, your "turn the cable box off" command would actually turn it on. Then after your movie when you hit the cable box button to watch some TV the "turn the cable box on" command would actually turn it off.
Hi Why don't we see any of the Variable commands that you have set in the macros? When I've done something similar they appear in the macro
It depends on the remote you are programming when it’s the 780 it shows differently

Sadly enough you have to be a dealer and have a login to access the programming . Urc protects their dealers in this way

Hi. Can you help me find the IR discrete codes for Samsung SmartTV apps? I specifically need: Netflix, Amazon Prime, RUclips and Spotify. I have the URC MX-880.
I can try I don’t believe they all have direct buttons , if the original remote you can learn the buttons to the remote
So I can only program if I am an authorized dealer. But I can't find any dealers in my area. I sent a request and someone from another state called me. Where else is this software available? I have one hooked up but bought a new one and need it programed.

Thanks for the video. My question is, I have this remote, installer programed it but not even close how I'd like. Now he says he want $130 per visit when I need a change. Screw that. Would happen to have any files available that can pushed to the remote? I don't think I'm smart enough or the patience to do all that. The installer for new system had given me the program. Maybe point me a direction to where someone might. I watched this video several times.
Every job is different . $130 is about standard for programming a remote like that .. when I program my remotes I make sure the customer is happy with all programming . Then I will let them Make a few changes over the next few months at no charge .. ?but after that there would be a charge to come out . Depending on the changes could be a basic charge …
@@jarrodsill8853 We didn't get that option. He showed us a few buttons on what would turn on, turn off, ect...but we don't know what we don't know. We have a two zone system, inside and outside. We have to use the Receiver to turn on and off zone II for it work with the main remote. One of the most aggravating thing is, once the Yamaha receiver is idle or paused, the volume doesn't come back on, video plays...so we have to turn everything off and turn it all on again and volume returns. We would like to have a guide laid out, for what this button will do, and what this button will do ect...we paid for 5k dollar install and we have to guess our way on what's what.
How do you download this program?

Hey Jarrod, how do I use the RF signal to operate a fire stick? It wants me to add a receiver. Is there a way to do that?
U would get a flirc from amazon and a special y cable to add it to the fire stick then you can program any codes to operate

Why do you but volume and mute on the main page when nothing is powered on?
Just invade someone hits main while watching something and need to turn down the tv or mute quickly and then they don’t have to wait for the macro to run just to turn down or mute, you would be surprise how many people hit main on accident or to wake up the remote just a safety thing for me
Hopefully you still read the comments Im running the latest version of CCP but under apple I don't show the latest Apple devices . I have no listing for Apple Tv 4th Gen any idea if there is a work around not sure why that portion hasn't been updated
Apple TV 4th gen needs to learn codes so you should be able to use the Apple TV codes available then after updating remote you learn those codes to the Apple TV
@jarrod I believe my problem might be solved I entered Aux instead of streaming device once I picked streaming device it gave all the Apple products . Thank you for the reply I’m a total Noob at this .

Bc it protects their product from being whored out on the internet and limits the amount of customer service calls they get.

JEFF PIERCE you would need the software to do the programming , typically you would need to be a dealer to get the software, what area are you in?
@@jarrodsill8853 URC has totally abandoned the DIY market. Only cater to the monied elite who can afford to pay them every time they need a button reprogrammed.. Those of us who have been DIY with URC since the early 90's are stuck with the Harmony trash that is about the closest thing available. Logitech remotes are ergonomically HORRID, inflexible and EXPENSIVE for what you get. What URCs behavior is CRUEL. If you want their SW you have to become a dealer. We need a new startup, probably BASED out of China to challenge URC.
