- A millennia-old Windsor tradition to which Queen Elizabeth II was faithful. Wherever the Queen appeared, she never parted with her signature pearl necklace. For several hundred years, there hasn't been a British queen who hasn't worn pearls. British queens and princesses traditionally had a collection of pearls for every occasion, from delicate strands for daytime outings to extravagant tiered necklaces for formal occasions. In addition to pearls, the Queen had another jewellery passion. She often wore jewellery with rubies. She had several massive necklaces and a the Burmese ruby tiara, which is also considered an amulet against disease and evil.
Love the pearls! They always show ‘class’ to me.

Pearls, more than any other jewel, are immensely flattering to the complexion. Smart women with big budgets have always know this. Sadly, the inexpensive fakes most of us have to settle for don’t create the same flattering look-only the real deal does that. QE2’s favorite, the one she wore constantly was special because it was a gift from her beloved father. In fact, she had a copy made so she would always have one available if the original was being cleaned or restrung.
I guess I have never really seen a picture of a very young Mary of Teck because Queen Elizabeth looked so much like her when she was still Princess Elizabeth ❤
I think it’s because before you click on it they’re showing Mary of Teck. Then, when you actually start playing it that’s the young Queen Elizabeth II. I was expecting to see Mary of Teck also. I can see why you got a little confused if you did. Not saying there’s no resemblance whatsoever. But that’s just may have added to it. One morphing into the other.
King George gave her pearls on each birthday, or so they say.
Her Father, King George VI, gave her the beautiful Pearl Necklace when she turned 18yrs old. I think it was said she had several necklaces just alike. She was given lots of Burmese Rubies for her wedding in 1946.
RUclips:ROBERT SEPHER mit "QUEEN OF ISLAM" ELIZABETH2 👍
Pearls have been my “go to” too for 50 years. I own at least a dozen different necklaces in various colors and shapes, from freshwater to Tahitian, from seed pearls to 12mm. I love them all - I think just about every woman does!!
They wear out too soon.
Well they’re just such a lovely frame for her face
Love all her jewellery ❤
I loved her so much. Miss her!😢
Rubies bring out the red in one's skin and one's eyes. I think they're better as bracelets and rings.
I knew her.
I hope Queen Camilla & Princess Catherine continue the tradition. Nothing looks nicer on the neck than pearls.😊
Espicially on gurls...
Must be true about burmese rubys working against disease and evil . She passed away at a ripe old age
Gorgeous
Def very uk upper class
Obviously… it’s the queen of england
❤❤❤
The Windsors are not a millenia old. Neither the pearls.
You beat me to it!

She wasnt handsone but Margaret was beautiful
I haven't seen the new Queen wear them
That’s because Elizabeth was buried with them. Also Camilla isn’t the Queen, just Queen Consort. Just like Phillip was given the title of Prince Consort.
@@deathoftheendless Camilla is the queen consort, but when addressing she's just the Queen, the King's Queen.
Camilla is Queen consort
Camilla is Queen consort
@@jeniliyam.j9185Queen my ass. She is only a witch 🧙 and a home wrecker.
A millenia old Windsor tradition? A millenia?!
Where did those jewels come from? They didn’t come from the UK, that’s for sure.
Pearls are boring and kinda ugly to me
I prefer sparkly stones
I felt the same when I was younger. I’ve enjoyed both but I’m now more into the good pearls for daytime and a sparkly ring 💍 such as engagement ring or another.
I’m now 52 and most days I’m home so I wear very little jewelry and make up etc. so I’m not saying that everyone should wear xyz Or when. Just stating my own revolving preferences.
So oysters can be harvested in England, not Africa, huh?
Does camilla do this tradition?
