They were on early that day and ended up drawing one of the largest audiences in the history of the festival for that time of day. They were simply awesome and had the whole crowd up from their tents and long lies from the excesses of the night before. Nobody touches these guys live
@@kevinmorrice eh, they did! They were huge all over Europe and played to huge crowds in Mexico,. Russia and various other Asian and Sth American countries. The only place they didn't make it was America. Their loss but Quo still did well. Over 120 million record sales, more than the Who who did have success in America, tells you how big they were/are
"4500 Times" gets voted by their fans as their most popular song. The LIVE version on QUO LIVE at THE APOLLO GLASGOW, goes for 16' 43" There are studio versions on " HELLO " and " ROCK 'TIL YOU DROP " It's not a Jam, it's a structured piece of music with purpose and direction
From, arguably, their best album. Namely, 1973's, 'Hello!', album, which also features, 'Roll Over Lay Down', 'Blue-Eyed Lady', 'Caroline', and, 'Forty-Five Hundred Times.'
I've always enjoyed this album especially Claudie with its country rock vibe alongside the classics. On the quo album fine fine fine has that vibe as well
One of the 'big 5'... Piledriver, Quo, Hello!, on the level and blue for you...then it all went titssup...they never an album after that that came remotely close
Thank you for taking the time to upload my request. You are so right, myself and my Dad did rock to this. Often having the windows down in the car during the summer months with this tune and many other quo songs blasting out. Great memories. Thank you for sharing the love.
It’s not that the US didn’t like them, where they played they did, and in many cases still do. Problem was poor management - decided not to make the payola payments to the record stations, hence the records didn’t get played. Mgmt believed they could crack the US by touring, as they had done in the UK - problem is the US is way bigger than the UK and touring isn’t a viable way to reach your audience unless you commit a few years constantly to it. Quo had the UK and the rest of the world concurrd by then and therefore didn’t have the time. Now imagine if the internet was available in the early 70’s, my bet would be that they would have been stratospheric if it had.

Good album as QUO truly is; to me Watever You Want (WYW) and the Just Supposin (JS) album are both better; Never too Late (NTL) also + newer stuff like the fantastic In search of the Fourth Chord (ISOTFC), Quid Pro Quo - QPQ and perhaps the best Quo album of them all from 91': Rock til You Drop - RTYD !! Down to taste no mater what anyway - so no offence and rock on mate :)
The whole of the album ‘Piledriver’ . It simply kicks ass!
Softer ride is on Hello! though...but piledriver is a banging album
