I have pdga approved putter for dogs (lattitude 64, i think) that looked a bit similar except for the midrange rim. I really thought the stability and handling was a bit of a waste on novelty disc for dogs.
I'm waiting for my new alien to arrive by post as of this moment. Looking forward to this one!

Or somebody made a mistake in tooling and made a run of Sonic discs with the wrong rim and the Innova team made this disc from the mistake because it was a good enough mold.
