Bronny James Being Drafted Benefited LeBron, NOT Bronny

Dan Beyer and Kerry Rhodes of Fox Sports Radio call out LeBron James for effectively forcing the Los Angeles Lakers to draft his son Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Draft despite Bronny boasting quite a limp résumé coming out of college. Both Rhodes and Beyer believe Bronny's awkward admission into the NBA was more about self-serving LeBron wanting to accomplish HIS dream of playing alongside his son, and had little to do with what was actually best for Bronny -- returning to USC and becoming a legitimate contributor.

The fact that he unfollowed Rachel Nichols for saying he probably won't be a star but then said she could see him become a Marcus Smart type is a sign of things to come. That's a compliment and best case scenario for Bronny yet he somehow felt offended.
I can’t wait for him to get rejected at the rim
All female energy with Lebald
Who cares???? The fact you care so much is feminism
That’s honestly disrespectful to Marcus smart… but somehow the one offended is Lebron…
You gay lil bro
Nba is scripted Hollywood entertainment ,bronny will play his role like his father
Lebron cheating his son too 🤯🤯🤯
Respect to these two for being honest and calling a spade a spade.
Agreed and I wish mainstream media would state the real
A puppet GM, a puppet coach, and a puppet owner.... The Lakers are a perfect fit for Lebron, they all shamelessly don't give an F!
yall aint say nothing about zaccharie risacher or alex sarr since the draft but yall still talking about the 55th pick smh
Exactly smh
Remind us again what zaccharie risacher dad's name is?? You know exactly why this is a segment on a sports show.
@@hardworkingcriminal4873 so you rather them y'all about bronny solely because he's lebron son than the 1st and 2nd pick 🤦🏾♂️🤡
Ok lets be real. Does anyone really care about those other people you named? They onky talk about what people care about
Can you say "ya'll" a couple more times, hillbilly?
Signs of this were first shown imo when Lebron was doing dunks in his son’s lay up line. Couldn’t let him have his own shine then and won’t let him have it now
Average 4 points / game on a bad ISC team
Also. “I won’t accept a two way contract”
Oh yeah…. Totally legit
AJ Johnson
Will be awesome to see father and son make history by not making the play-in.
💀💀
I agree…I don’t think anyone (especially his parents and agent) are thinking of what is best for this young man.
based on your conversations with bronny ? or just because it aligns with your beliefs?
@@PeopleCallMeQ Probably his beliefs. You know, exactly as legit as yours.

These guys are hitting the nail on the head. I've been thinking more and more that this is about Lebron and his desires, not what was best for Bronny. Pretty sad and shows the selfishness I think of Lebron. In one way you can say it's nice of him to use his influence to help his son, but I don't get the feeling that is truly what's going on here, but Lebron forcing this on everyone including his son. I think also potentially if Bronny stayed another year he clearly wouldn't be a NBA draft pick so there'd probably be little chance of him being drafter. So they gambled that this was his best shot to ever be drafted. For Bronny would have been nice for him to transfer, pick his own school, grow in his game, to see even if he still wanted to play basketball. After his heart attack, I'm not sure this is a good decision anyway for Bronny to keep playing. But ultimately we'll find out if he can really hang in the NBA. I just hope for him he can know when to hang it up, and say alright I tried this, and am moving on to something else in life.
LeBron's been selfish for a whole. Don't know if it's true but he intends to resign with the Lakers on a MAX. That is absolutely insane given he's a billionaire and probably earns roughly half his max contract in a month or 2 through his businesses, sponsors etc. Doing that also prevents Lakers from getting another star, think someone like Joel Embiid.
LeBron's ego truly is next level. Would be dufferent if thst was for the benefit of his team but that certainly does not sppear to be the case.
Lebron had to pull the strings to get Bronny on the Lakers NOW! One more unimpressive college season for Bronny, with Lebron seriously on the verge of actual retirement, few if any teams would take Bronny.
This is about actualizing Lebron’s dream of playing with his son at all costs even if it means subjecting his son to overwhelming pressure and scrutiny.
Lebron is a narcissistic psychopath. I’m glad he hung around this long so we could have actual proof to how screwed up this guy actually is. The day Lebron retires will be a great day in NBA history.
Lebron has generational wealth. His kids go to prestigious high schools. Why does he need to drag Bronny out of school for the NBA? There is no desperation here. It's just stupidity
Well, so far, drafting bronny is free agent repellent.
Yep. Not exactly an In n Out drive thru.
Bronny’s privilege is showing lol
Nothing is wrong with that
Yeah and so what. Maybe y’all need to learn how to calculate

…this video seemed “calculated” 🤦♂️…my goodness, expand your vocabulary…
It literally ONLY benefited Lebron. Everyone else, Bronny, The Lakers, The NBA, the guy who who could have had the roster spot, fans and common sense all took a beating.
Hmm, they are kinda rough in the NBA..can't imagine Dillon brooks not salivating to take a shot at bronny.....lol
Bronny was drafted only becasue of who his father is. He showed nothing in college to make him a second round pick. Without his name he would have gone undrafted. Not aying he won't get better over time and turn into a legitimate NBA player, but right now he just isn't.
I think everyone is looking at this the wrong way. These guys are right to a point. Lebron has been saying for the past couple years that he wants to play with Bronny. He said money did not matter, but it was HIS dream. Lebron also said that it may not be Bronny’s dream to do so and he was ok with that. Now the realty set in where Bronny has the talent but probably would not be drafted based on that talent. This is where the deal was made, for Bronny and Lebrons benefit. LeBron gets to live out his dream and Bronny gets to be in the NBA. This is why he will take a pay cut to bolster the roster to benefit the Lakers. Not sure where these narratives are coming from when this has been right in front of us the past couple years.
Let's let coaches draft their 34 year old son from the LA fitness league, i'm sure we can make feel good story about that, if youre looking for a soap opera.
You have to be brain dead if you don’t think Bronny benefits from playing and being mentored by one of the greatest ever who just so happens to be his dad.
What scenario is better for a young talent that needs to develop.
Guy’s a hypocrite, says Belichick’s son being an assistant coach is not nepotism. Throw the opinion in the trash.
Don’t defend nepotism! You can’t say LBJ is wrong and coaching nepotism is fine. Keep that same energy
lol exactly. How is a patriots job family business
Its crazy to say a Dad calculating to help his son make it is bad. He will develop more in the nba than college
It’s a distraction so people aren’t talking about his steroid usage
2yrs guaranteed no G league for a 2nd rounder? Smh another stain on the lakers.
I'm unable to calculate how many times he said calculated.
Only thing can erase his draft drama if he comes out and wind roty
Waiting for Lamelo Ball vs Bronny James
Would MJ do this for his son’s? Never………
Manifestations are mentally calculated when aligned. You visualize, speak things into existence, and co-create with the host power. Some of y’all will get it years from now.
Calculated in the sense you guys are talking about is toxic. Bronny will take away so much more playing with his dad every day. But if you focus on nitpicking LJ, you’ll be blind. Family lineage isn’t about self. Ever!!!
If Bronny didn’t want to do it he would have worked out for other teams.
Yall clearly dont actually watch basketball at the level of second round picks, college, and high school talent. This much is clear. And it’s sucks to see yall talk as if you do spewing a bunch of incorrect analysis.
My God, you guys are soo jealous of this dude....give it a break....let the kid play, we will see what he does.. A black man hating on another because he has the juice.
Such an idiotic comment 😂
If it was up to the media we wouldn’t have any information about the top picks of this draft.
All yall do is talk about bronny.
What good Father wouldn't want to play with his son and make history.
A good father would wait until his son was ready.
why yall aint talk about giannis like this his brother is literally only there because him i never heard nobody about "nepotism" talk about that
He was a better prospect coming out of the draft avg 16 pts 7 rb from euro league.
Imagine your dream is to make the NBA. You’ve worked hard all of your life and avoided all of the temptations that were thrown at you along the way. You went to college and had a decent enough career to get drafted in the late 2nd round. No guarantees you’ll make an NBA team but you have a good shot. You immediately get to work and show your work ethic and high character. Well, it’s comes down to one last roster spot on the team. If you make it you’ll make life changing money and fulfill your dream of being an NBA player. But unfortunately you get the pink slip and get cut. So close but so far away. It came down to you and another player that happens to have a famous daddy that plays in the NBA and an uncle that happens to be his agent. You should’ve got that last spot and you deserved it but you lost out to a player that averaged 3 points a game in college and should’ve never even been drafted in the first place. This is obviously a hypothetical situation that’s probably going to happen once training camp starts. Someone is going to get cut because of this. And you have clowns on social media defending this move and if you don’t you’re labeled a hater and that’s followed by some kind of racial slur. Makes me chuckle for real. Carry on!
This.Certain fans and media are being so intellectually dishonest. Great post.
@@timothyfrederick9591 all of these clowns are so desperate to protect Bronny that they bring up the example of James Dolan hiring his family members to fill the vacant openings in the Knick’s front office. But they don’t want to acknowledge that James Dolan actually owns the team and can pretty much hire who he wants. Just like Jerry Jones can hire who he wants for the Dallas Cowboys. It’s a very poor example of nepotism because none of these family members have to worry about being in the same locker room with the other job candidates who are trying to get those jobs. There is no locker room camaraderie with those nepo babies and outside hires for those front office executives positions. But Bronny is actually going to be practicing with his competition and he’s going to share the locker room with his competition. Now how is his competition going to feel when Coach JJ starts giving Bronny more minutes to appease LeBron but he doesn’t deserve those minutes? It’s going to create a divided locker room and all hell will break loose. I can’t believe they let LeBron open this Pandora’s box. Like I said get your popcorn ready
You didn’t think the equity he brought with the lakers wasn’t enough??? MF the lakers were in no mans land when Kobe left AND won them a damn championship winning finals MVP lmao wtf you talking about

Over half the Players each year drafted in the First Round aren't ready to play in the NBA. So what's the real problem with James and the Lakers drafting Bronny with the FREAKING 55th pick. Which by the way is in the Second Round.

Yeah it doesn’t, Bronny isn’t ready to play in the NBA. Another year of college would benefit him greatly as far as basketball is concerned. Playing 5 minutes a game for the Lakers isn’t gonna help him get better. Playing 30 minutes a game on college would though.

That’s such an ignorant take. Ken Griffey Jr was the best prospect in baseball(one of the best of all time), and the number one pick. It didn’t matter what Jr’s name was because he was that good. That’s not the case with Bronny.
