Great editing job, as always, Path. I love what you did with Slurpy 😂 Your videos are the best. So glad you got to sit down with this album and enjoy it as much as you did. It was so much fun to watch.
Love both your channels! Bob, looking forward to your Clipping VOBBB reaction! Path, would love a Radiohead discography dive! Ok Computer, Kid A, In Rainbows especially!
This reaction was edited beautifully. Incorporating Bob into the reaction was so well done. On top of that, one of my fav albums ever. Minute “The Great Gig In the Sky” started, I damn near burst into tears
This touch you did with having Bob's commentary interspersed throughout the album listen makes everything feel very cinematic; a perfect collaboration. Also, rock's my favorite genre -- glad to see it's getting some love in the channel.
This was unexpected. One of the best albums ever made by one of the greatest bands ever. I'm glad I was exposed to pink floyd from very young. Pink Floyd songs always take you on a journey. Glad you listened to this.
IT'S COMING UP ON 50 YEARS THAT I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM AND I AM STILL BROUGHT TO TEARS BY CLARE TORRE'S VOCALS ON GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!!! IF EVER THERE WAS AN ALBUM THAT WAS TRULY TIMELESS, THIS WOULD BE IT!!!
Also, I think "I wish you were here" and "The Wall" are better, more conceptual, and ambitious Pink Floyd experiences. So If you're gonna continue, make sure to check those out
I love watching people discover this album. It takes me back to the first time I listened to it. That's such a great feeling. Your gasps and reactions to the music are where most of us experienced the thrills along the way. It becomes better over time. Some of the lyrics make more sense as we age.
It is so nice to see a younger generation sitting down and seriously listening to something that means so very much to me and having a similar reaction to what I did when I first heard it... It wasn't a cursory casual listen either... It brought tears to my eyes to know I do have something in common with today's young adults... Thank you for this video... Subscribed...
The Dark Side of the Moon definitely deserves all the praise it gets, but their next album ‘Wish You Were Here’ is their best imo. Great reaction btw. You are quickly becoming my favorite music reaction channel as your format is very unique in the RUclips reaction sphere
wish you were here is also my fave! i can't say it's objectively better than dark side or the wall, but its their most personal and sincere album which makes it amazing for me. its even more beautiful when you've lost someone you love
I absolutely love Any Colour You Like, it’s probably my favourite song of theirs, growing up on instrumental psychedelic music it just hit the right spot for me.
Love that you reacted to pink floyd. I'm a huge fan of them and I really hope you react to more. "Wish you were here" and "Animals" are all-time Pink Floyd classics which I recommend you listening to.
"You missed the starting gun" is a line I love, not because I believe there is a "starting gun," and I'm not sure even that Waters or Gilmour believe there is one, but it just evokes that feeling that, when you were younger, you felt like you had more time. But somewhere along the line, and you're not sure when, time caught up to you, and now you're playing catch-up.
Wow, usually I know what to expect when I click on these "react" videos. However, your editing, commentary, and interspersing of the other person's commentary made this a wholly unique and transformative version of the format. Bravo!
I remember when this album came out. My drummer came to my house with the album and some little purple paper libations . And we listened to this album for a whole month that night. 😁🤘🤪
It’s crazy how there are basically no choruses or repeated lyrics on any of the tracks throughout the album! The closest I’d say is where they name drop the title of the album on Brain Damage. Just makes it even more of a continuous journey through the whole album
Album recommendation: Quadeca - "I Didn't Mean To Haunt You". It came out two days ago and it's one of the most beautiful things I've experienced in my 5 years of listening to experimental music. The structure of it is kind of similar to IGOR, that you enjoyed but the genre mix is folk, electronic, a little bit of rapping, post punk, industrial and a couple more. You'll probably see more of these comments pop up and for good reason. It's also getting very positive critical acclaim and even if you don't make it into a video at least listen to it for yourself, further down the line. 95/100 would cry again
Listening to this album on Mushrooms or LSD is a truly magical experience. I never really understood the random anxiety enducing samples they would have between tracks until I listened to it on psychadelics. It truly takes you on a journey through the good and the bad of life and leaves with tears in your eyes feeling you finally "get it" for the first time
this video was such a cool journey (literally from the get go I was smiling purely from seeing the two of yall in the same video) you are such a good editor and storyteller and bob's love for this album can be felt in every section of this commentary.... thank you both so much for sharing yalls passion!
Although I never really got into Pink Floyd, this album is just a masterpiece. This was completely unexpected and I’m so glad you got to experience this for the first time, something I’m sure a lot of us could do again. Can’t wait for the next one!
All I can say is 'wow'. I just stumbled across this channel and subscribed within minutes. This is a wonderful and intelligent reaction to my favorite band. In my 50+ years of listening to music, I always wished the younger generation would listen more to the classics that made up my generation. I'm so glad I came across this reaction. It's so well done and quite unique from other reaction videos! I always said that Dark Side is such a spectacular album because it resonates with absolutely everyone. It becomes even more profound the older you get. I wish you much success with this channel...🙂
Wow when you said a non hip-hop album this is not what I excepted! Cool to see you branching out and hopefully some more different genre picks are on the way :)
First time watching this channel and I’m so pleasantly surprised with the whole production and everything. I love the concept of adding in the voice overs, and the editing and everything is so clean. Good shit!! Edit: Yooo the lil text pop ups are great too!
My fav interpretation of Great Gig in The Sky is Clare Torry's vocals are a soul coming to terms with it's recent death. I didn't come up with this, but experiencing that song through that lens has given it the greatest impact.
The album "Dark Side Of The Moon" revolves around a central theme that binds each of the songs and which is: (What drives people crazy). (BREATHE); If the performance required in life can drive people crazy. (ON THE RUN); If the frantic rush of life can drive people crazy. (TIME); If the fleeting aspect of passing time can drive people crazy. (THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY); If the thought of the inevitable end (death), can drive people crazy. (MONEY); If love, or lack of money can drive people crazy. (US AND THEM); If the abusive hierarchy between color, power or wealth between US AND THEM can drive people crazy. (ANY COLOR YOU LIKE); If the illusion of being able to choose can drive people crazy. (BRAIN DAMAGE); If the fear of losing their mind can drive people crazy. (ECLIPSE); If the fact that our life seems to be limited to, (All that you touch - And all that you see...) can drive people crazy. So, we can conclude that even the brightness of the sun may be eclipsed by the Dark Side of the Moon.
First time watching this channel and subscribed straight away. Dark Side of the Moon is my favorite album of all time and made a huge impression on me when hearing it for the first time in 1979 aged 10 a few years after it was first released.
@@pathreacts Although Pink Floyd has several great material to pick from, it is absolutely mandatory: - Echoes - a track which feels like an album itself, from the album Meddle; - their excelent psychedelic debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn - also because you can find about Syd's role in the band.
Fantastic video. I'm a bit jaded on a lot of the music react content on RUclips, but this video is in a league of it's own, and served to shattered all of my preconceptions. Bravo.
Your voice is absolutely comforting to listen to and I love hearing your reaction and seen your reaction to this album. I wish you could give you a full unedited review.
Thank you for listening to "TDSOTM"! If you like, I would like you to listen to the albums of the progressive rock bands that, together with Pink Floyd, made British rock in the 70's so exciting! Yes's "Fragile" and "Close to the Edge", King Crimson's "the Court of the Crimson King", Genesis's "Selling England By the Pound", etc!
One of the best reviews I have ever seen. You felt what we all felt when listening the first time and it was a pleasure to watch the journey. Thank you. Would love to see you react to their Animals album
This is a collaboration, that I never would have expected. I started watching MrPoppop, a few months ago and Path, a weeks ago. Weird how that works. Great insight and reaction as always.
Pink Floyd was the first band my dad loved that I also got really into, and going to see Roger Water's The Wall together in 2011 is one of my favourite memories. When I miss him a lot, I play a Pink Floyd record.
First time watching one of your videos, it was great and it always makes me happy when somebody else hears one of my favourite albums. Also I thought I was the only one who cracks their knuckles with their jaw 😂Good to know that I'm not alone
oh yeah! if you're doing historical albums that opens up a whole new can of worms. three i would really recommend are All Things Must Pass by George Harrison, The Velvet Underground and Nico by the Velvet Underground, and The Queen is Dead by The Smiths. Keep doing you Path, really appreciate your content :)
This is the highest quality "react" style video i've seen on the platform. Is refreshing, informative, it accomplishes the goal of re-visiting the feelings of listening for the first time.. also great editing and commentary. Is just really nice to see. Great content.
great reaction, so glad you're finally getting into this era. pink floyd's animals would def be a great next pick from them to react to. if you wanna try something from this time that isn't floyd, i would personally recommend either quadrophenia by the who or low by david bowie
I don't think there's a song that as universally hits people as Time does, but when you know everyone else is in the same boat it kind of takes the sting out.
The part where you count the time signature on money, makes me think you would enjoy king gizzard and the lizard wizard if you don't already listen to them. Glad to see bob as well
Fun fact: the sound of thicking present in Time it's done on a Moog System 55, and a lot of others sounds, including the leads, the pads ecc...... Also in Wish You Where Here in the song Welcome To The Machine all the refinery, machines and even the guitar-sitar chords are done with that. You can literally remake them (or load the presets already installed) with the Arturia Synth collection, and it's mindblowing.
This was a nice surprise. I was thinking about if you might dive in to more classic albums. If I could thrown in a suggestion (if you haven’t listened to it already), What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye. Timeless album with a timeless message.
Great Gig In The Sky is my all time favorite song. I have often times used that when getting to know someone. I will send them the song and have them describe how it made them feel, or what they thought the meaning was. It is actually fascinating too see how each responds. It is timeless, and the story behind the song is just as powerful.
This is so awesome. Dark Side is a timeless classic, and while it's in some ways tempting for me to think "aww you've been missing out so long!" it is an old album now, and maybe the peak of resurgent popularity I felt in the late 00's just missed you by. But in some sense if I could have had someone like Bob be the one to expose me to one of the best projects ever made, that'd probably be worth the wait. A great reaction, I was getting emotional about it in ways I haven't felt about the project in a long time. Familiar sounds, but renewed. And in the one comment, Bob's right: any Floyd fan who tries to discount Dark Side at all is being a little contrarian. Even if there's super valid reasons to hold other of their projects in one's top slot, in some sense Dark Side is almost in the default 0 position where its just must be considered the best of the projects, even if it's not one's particular favorite. I do fall into that camp where my favorite Floyd project wavers between Animals and Wish you were Here; neither super controversial picks. But the entire Floyd collection is strong from start to back (From the early Syd era to the post Waters era) with solid work to be found on every project even if some albums have a few oddities in there. But Dark Side just still wins by default as the masterpiece.
omg im so happy u react to this album. Ive been listened pink floyd since i was a kid. till now i still always listen pink floyd with my dad, most of time in the car, we always get so high listen to the wall. the wall is our fav one. my fav in dark side of the moon is time, i enjoy both the lyric and melody, and david guitar solo is always the best. u always have to listen their music in album, not one song. the thing they did in music is just so unique and experimental still nowadays. omg im just so excited when i saw u post the video omg. thank u for posting this video, love u ❤
your editing is always so good but the way you made the lines in Us and Them blend together so well with the lyrics cutting perfectly was really amazing
Omg I listened to this the first time a few weeks ago and I cannot begin to explain how excited I was when I saw this in my feed. Also great to see Bob here he deserves way more recognition 😊
Money is in 7/8 time signature but goes back to 4/4 and so on…. I really like the way you analyze and add thoughts and pieces written on it. Great job 👍. Been listening to this album for 40 years now. Sid (founder of Pink Floyd) went over the edge in 1967 after a long weekend of endless LSD trips.
As a huge modern rap fan this might be my favourite album of all time. I can't pinpoint exactly why, but it puts me in a very specific headspace which no other project has been able to do.
Holy cow. Both Bob and Path in ONE VIDEO?! This is the crossover I didn't know I needed. When Turning The Tables? When Young Dabo? When Fantano? Put it in my veins plz
Well this is my first time seeing you react. Speechless. A young woman of your age really getting it. This was a epic LP and came out when I was in high school. Next try Animals. Very Orwellian and Animal Farm. A very famous book that in the early 70s we all had to read and do a book report in school. Animals as is the book is the breaking down of people into 3 catagories basically into sheep, dogs and pigs of 3 different kinds. Well done. Great vid!!! It was so good I rewatched it :)
Didn’t expect you to cover Rock! But a welcome surprise hope you enjoy this album it’s incredible. Look forward to your tpab reaction , it’s Kendrick’s best arguably , so maybe you’ll check out Floyd’s best, Wish You Were Here (in my opinion at least).
Thank you for this amazing reaction video! I really am in love with this album and this was the best reaction I have ever seen to it, very genuine. I even learned some things I never heard before.
One of my favorite álbuns of all time. Easily. Loving to see you experience it for the first time! (Also, would love to see you react to Gorillaz some time, their blend of indie rock with rap is perfect).
You have a really good grasp on music. That’s impressive and rather rare, so keep it up! That’s awesome. Also, this is one of the FEW reactions to this album I’ve watched where the listener gave it the respect it deserves right off the bat. Such an awesome video❤️
I watched a cover band live a few months ago perform this album and damn great gig in the sky was the best performance on the album. Great reaction, also digging this editing!
Outside of the obvious amazing edit, I really recommend Floyd’s Wish you were here or animals. Imo they are the obvious best albums conceptually they have ever made. Wish you were here has some of the best story telling about the band. Much love, God bless
i still havent listened to any pink floyd yet, my grandad was super involved with pink floyd he was part of the duo who made the massive stage props for lots of the pink floyd shows which is very cool
Much of the genius of this amazing album, Dark side of the moon is the production of the great Alan Parsons a legend of The Alan Parsons Project a must hear.
I’m in the same boat as you where I’m a twenty something who has just recently started listening to these classic masterpieces. I absolutely love your channel! You have such a refreshing take on music reactions. Loveless from My Bloody Valentine might be one you’d be interested in as it has a very unique sound. Maybe RemIn in Light from Talking Heads as well. Regardless of which record you do next, I’ll definitely be watching. Keep up the great work!
I always get such a kick out of watching people listening to this album for the first time. I grew up listening to this album before I could even fully understand the gravity of the lyrics and implications. Your editing on this is fantastic as well!
I have enjoyed this album and more from them for my 45 years of life. Thank you to my father for being a fan and I have 4 children 10-15 years old who also love the Floyd. We can go on an entire road trip and be content with any of the albums they put out and be completely happy enjoying the passing scenery while listening. We absolutely love Pink Floyd. No trickery necessary.
Great video and collab. Didn't think you do a video with another reactor. This album was on my list but glad I could listen to it as you reacted as well! I can see why people say they're timeless.
Great editing job, as always, Path. I love what you did with Slurpy 😂

i love the sound of synths but i know nothing about them, thank you for sharing!!! i’ll have to look these up!
Always one of the albums you just gotta put headphones on, sit back in a dark room and enjoy the ride.
your editing is always so good but the way you made the lines in Us and Them blend together so well with the lyrics cutting perfectly was really amazing
Love both of your channels so much❤
love this album, do wish you were here next!!
It was so good I rewatched it :)
glad you enjoyed it :)
Rock on!!!!
Thank you for this amazing reaction video! I really am in love with this album and this was the best reaction I have ever seen to it, very genuine. I even learned some things I never heard before.
I really love the editing/format of these videos so much. Also, that was an epic knuckle cracking at the end of "The Great Gig in the Sky."
One of my favorite álbuns of all time. Easily. Loving to see you experience it for the first time! (Also, would love to see you react to Gorillaz some time, their blend of indie rock with rap is perfect).
An absolutely incredible album. Never liked an album so much on the first listen before.
i could definitely recommend *i didn't mean to haunt you* after how you reacted to this album (overall soundscape, transitions and synthesisers)
I'm so happy to see you react to this beautiful album. Your style of reaction is fresh and very tasteful. Keep it up!
You have a really good grasp on music. That’s impressive and rather rare, so keep it up! That’s awesome. Also, this is one of the FEW reactions to this album I’ve watched where the listener gave it the respect it deserves right off the bat. Such an awesome video❤️
A very classy review of the Album which was refreshing to watch.
I watched a cover band live a few months ago perform this album and damn great gig in the sky was the best performance on the album. Great reaction, also digging this editing!
youre by far my favorite youtube right now. the editing and just overall quality of your videos are amazing thank u x1000000
I absolutely love this collaboration. I was not expecting it but I'm so looking forward to it!!
Outside of the obvious amazing edit, I really recommend Floyd’s Wish you were here or animals. Imo they are the obvious best albums conceptually they have ever made. Wish you were here has some of the best story telling about the band. Much love, God bless
Amazing production on this video 👌👌
i still havent listened to any pink floyd yet, my grandad was super involved with pink floyd he was part of the duo who made the massive stage props for lots of the pink floyd shows which is very cool
Wish you were here and animals are my fav albums by them check it out
woah a personal touch!! you should definitely check them out with that context
Take some cbd gummies and have fun man
@@pathreacts im gonna have to! : )
Great reaction. Love how you pause to take it in, and all....This was such a relaxing reaction and so chill. Subscribed 6 minutes in!
Amazing réaction as always ❤️
More Pink Floyd album please
Naah Path you’re the undisputed GOAT RUclips channel that’s crazy!! Amazing collab with big Bob
THIS IS SO UNEXPECTED PATH THERE IS LITERALLY NO WAY I FUCKING LOVE YOU
Much of the genius of this amazing album, Dark side of the moon is the production of the great Alan Parsons a legend of The Alan Parsons Project a must hear.
Excited for this one & love the idea of you getting recommendations from other music RUclipsrs.
I JUST SAW BOBS VIDEO POSTED OMG IM IN SHAMBLES WHAT DO I WATCH FIRST
watch both of them at the exact same time
I always get such a kick out of watching people listening to this album for the first time. I grew up listening to this album before I could even fully understand the gravity of the lyrics and implications. Your editing on this is fantastic as well!
honestly my fav album of all time. i cry at least 3 times while listening to it
I have enjoyed this album and more from them for my 45 years of life.
I can see why people say they're timeless.
your work is quite brilliant mate, thank you!
