If you guys haven't watched The Goonies you should (1985) there are some similarities in the kid dynamics. Also, you'll see some actors that are big now as kids. It's a feel-good adventure.
If you haven't seen Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters (1989), and Ghostbusters Afterlife (2021) you're missing some excellent entertainment.
Being obsessed with this show is a great thing.

I understand how you feel about Nancy and Steve keeping Barb's death from her parents, but I understand why they have to lie to them. The reason is they can't produce her body and they can't explain what happened without putting her parents in danger with the people from the lab. Barb's parents might even start to think Nancy and Steve had something to do with her disappearance. So I imagine after thinking about it, they decided to keep it a secret.
But you can tell the guilt is tearing Nancy apart. I mean, geez, the poor girl.
I was just about to say this. But imagine knowing where she is and unable to bring her back and then figuring out what the story the police are gonna come up with for cause of death!!
watching the kids grow up is one the many things i love about this show

I thought the reason Nancy and Steve didn't tell Barb's parents was *pretty* obvious; they wouldn't be able to tell them how she died and they don't have her body because it's still in the upside down but ig thats easy to forget lol
Hopper is chief of police, so he most likely heard reports about El, (child in wood, attack on the guy with burning log in woods) which is why he's left food out for her until she finally reveals herself to him.

Erica is my jam, they develop her character in season 3 and 4, she's awesome. I salute her.

The game they played at the beginning is called 'Dragon's Lair' and was the very first arcade game with optical laser disks and revolutionary graphics for that time. There are quite some gameplay videos on youtube. It was ported also to home computers (I played it on the Amiga).
I played it a few times in the arcade--and to this day, I hate quicktime events. Didn't stop me from also playing it on the Amiga as well.
Haha I remember that game as a kid being on the arcades. Ahh good nestolgia memories of childhood. That’s why I love this show. So many great memories of being a kid and that time.

I thought everyone had seen Stranger Things at this point. And I thought I had watched all the reaction videos out there. SO happy to find you and to watch it again through your eyes. It only gets better from here on out! I noticed you thought Winona Ryder’s acting was good. Not sure if you know who she is but she’s an 80’s/90’s icon. I highly recommend you look her up and watch her movies. And if you are familiar with the movie Goonies, the guy who plays Mikey is the same guy who plays Bob in this season - Sean Astin.
It makes sense that they wouldn’t tell Barb’s parents about her dying. You can’t really just tell someone their daughter was killed by an alien monster from an alternate dimension

That’s nothing. I watched the first 6 seasons of Sons of Anarchy in 2 weeks. To be fair, I wasn’t working at the time and had a lot of free time on my hands….and I watched every episode of the first 2 seasons in about 24 hours.

All the seasons take place a year apart. So season 1 takes place in 1983, Season 2; 1984 and, so on

Nancy and Steve are dressed like Rebecca De Mornay and Tom Cruise‘s characters from the movie Risky Business. In season one, Steve compared himself to Tom Cruise, and sang a line from the song made famous by this movie (‘ just take those old records off the shelf…’)
Now I can't get enough of your guys' The Perfect Mix obsession with Stranger Things! And even hesitated but dove into the consolidated format! It just works, well because you're all in and it's not like a checklist on the channel for the algo that you might feel is the case sometimes on different like okay fine, no, it's all in! I like how authentic they make it look like the 80s the old coke the old 3 musketeers wrapper the old Doritos wrapper in season 3 and when Coke changed their label in season 3 they made a point in showing that it had changed the attention to details is perfect

Next time the two deputies are shown, compare them to the two deputies Lou and Eddie from the Simpsons.The costumes at Halloween were interesting choices... The costumes were based on characters in the movie Risky Business, played by Rebecca De Mornay and Tom Cruise. The characters were a professional sex worker named Lana and a preppie HS student named Joel. This is the movie, btw, where Tom Cruise slides across the floor in his undies and a shirt, and does a song and dance number that has since become iconic! Great job on the reactions and especially the comments at the end! Looking forward to the next reactions! BTW, it is Dec. 30 when I am watching this, so if I don't get a chance before Monday: Happy New Year!
This is the season when my love for Steve truly began and the beginning of one of the greatest friendship duos, Steve and Dustin
The dragons Lair game was impossible to win.
I remember putting so many quarters in that thing then swearing off it forever! So funny they added the "over priced game" line because at the time it was $1 or $2 to play compaired to all the quarter games.
I remember that every time someone would step up to that game in the arcade, I'd go over to watch, hoping that it was someone who could actually play it so I could see more of the animation. But I never saw anyone get past the first two or three quicktime events. It was just impossible, and yeah, it cost about four times as much as the normal games to play. When the Dragon's Lair title screen first appeared on the screen when I watched this show, I felt myself getting angry at it *still,* even after all those years.
The nerdy arcade guy (Matty Cardarople) Also played Keith, a video game streamer, in the movie Free Guy. It was filmed mostly in Boston's Post Office Square and at one time or another I probably worked in a third of the buildings right there. So besides being a video game fan, it just hit me in the nostalgia.

_Dragon's Lair_ was an amazing arcade game in the 80s and 90s! It was like a full on animated movie that you were able to give commands to tell the main character where to go and what to do. The graphics looked so good for its time! It was animated by the great Don Bluth. It is an amazing call back by this great show!
So let me get this straight...you would have told Barb's parents that a monster took her to another dimension, killed her and then used her body for an incubator? All without a shred of proof? Do you really think that would end well?

You guys GOTTA watch Ghostbusters!!! It's a classic! The second film may be considered inferior to the first, but it's DEFINITELY more entertaining than that unnecessary gender-swapped reboot from 2016. Trust me, you wanna stay away from that movie. Definitely check out "Afterlife", though. That's the Ghostbusters 3 movie we've been waiting for, I think. Edit: Dude, Dacre Montgomery did a great job as Billy.

Must give Ghostbusters 1 and 2 a shot there, they are by far the most beloved movies of all time, and Ghostbusters 3 Afterlife was amazing to. That way you are ready for Ghostbusters 4: Frozen Empire coming in 2024.

Dragon's Lair was a one of a kind animated arcade game. It came out in 1983 animated by Don Bluth. I remember it costing something like $5 in quarters to play. Which for the early 80's was like $25. And nobody cared about the story we just wanted to watch the animation. LOL.
It wasn't $5 to play. I was 14 when it came out an played it. It was 50 cents.

I remember when my local arcade (Aladdin’s Castle) back in the 80’s got “Dragon’s Lair.” They are correct…it was awesome looking, but overpriced and hard as hell to play.
