Until last year he was the most experienced F1 driver in history although in the beginning of his career he almost didn't get super license due to his inexperience. He was such a natural talent that he got a formula one seat skipping all the junior formula categories (F3 and F2 of the time). He has participated in ONE THIRD of the formula one races ever held cry it out loud... And all this even thought he took a sabbatical of two years in the middle of his career to drive in World Rally Championship ans Nascar.

But the all time favorite antic was when a race in Asia was rained out and the drivers were sat in their cars waiting for the rain to subside (they were not allowed to get out of the cars)... and then there is a shot of Kimi walking past in shorts with an ice cream bar. Then there was the time he finished a race in 1st position with his car on fire.

    Kimi is loved by the entire f1 fandom exactly because of his dry demeanor. The guy truly only wants to race, he couldn't care less about the whole PR and fame part of it. That's part of why we call him The Iceman but we don't love him just because of that. Kimi is an exceptionally good and clever driver as well. Just one example of how great he is: He started on position 16, made up a whopping 10 places in just one lap, without pushing anyone off the track, while sitting in an ALFA Romeo! As an F1 Fan you know it's considered impossible to do that in the opening lap, especially if the car you're sitting in is a fraking Alfa!

    Kimi was one of the few who had the balls and skill to fight Schumacher during his super dominant period. Spa is a great example, not sure what year but I will never forget how hard he fought Schumi. Kimi was imo one of the greatest F1 drivers but, man, he had some bad luck. Also note how crewchiefs have no idea how to use radio and are often far from reality looking at their data screens, not understanding what it's like to sit in that cockpit. You still see it today, when drivers ask not to communicate going into a corner. It can be very distracting at 300 kph.

    I’m not sure how much you’ve kept up with this nascar season, but Kimi actually raced at Watkins Glen this year. You should react to his highlights from that race because his interview style was completely different to how he did interviews in f1.
    The best way to describe Kimi in his time in formula one to nascar fans is that he was a mix of Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth. He had Newman Speed but Kenseth Consistency (when the car didn’t break down on him). Carried a lot of bad luck in his career, and he wasn’t the most adaptable driver either. But when the car was set up correctly to his liking, he was as fast as any driver who ever raced. Everyone praises his speed in the 2000s, he loved a car with a sharp front end (this would mean oversteer or loose in nascar terms) and had the best understanding of the Michelin tyres and their grip levels. He truly was the fastest driver in the mid 2000s, he may have won the WDC in 2007, but you could argue he should’ve won it in 03’-year old chassis and 05’-reliability. You should definitely react to “Kimi 700 IQ compilation”. He definitely lost a lot of his edge after Michelin left, but he was also one of the smartest drivers on the grid as well. Now granted I’ve really started watching F1 in 2020 and seen it bit by bit since the early 2000s, the age of social media today does capture hilarious moments of Kimi like in this video for example, but his greatness does tend to get overshadowed now

      Kimi took a car from midfield to the top ten at Watkins until he got punted into the fence at the bus stop by someone else. If that’s forgettable, at his age, I’ll gladly watch more thank you. Sheesh. The guy did good for an older driver in his first NASCAR race in over a decade. He was aggressive as hell. Having fun. Sprained his wrist or hand in the wreck too I think. That’s pushing.

    • @glenmallory9982
      @glenmallory9982 Год назад

      The press over hyped his appearance. That didn’t help. He’s retired and just doing the occasional odd race now. He’s not the driver of 2007. NASCAR has buried that facts that for over twenty years F1 raced at WAtkins. The last race was around 1980. That track still has fans in Europe. Politics and financial issues aside, they are fans. Hamilton stated so when he came here to do a track swap with Smoke in 2010. That swap was so popular several thousand people showed up on a Wednesday to watch. On a workday! Folks called in sick to go watch a modern F1 car with a champ driver run on the long course and swap cars with a top nascar driver of the time. They both ran the long course. Why something more never came from that I’ll never understand. It was an opportunity lost. If nothing else Smoke said they should run the long course to add real passing zones. But the NASCAR officials choked on that suggestion. Now F1 is huge on tv, and WGI is slowly starving. Fading back to one big race per year with fan support really packing only the NASCAR race and even that isn’t as big as it was in the 90s. A real opportunity missed.

    He tried Nascar, ... you should know that 😋... You should check out Top 10 Moments of Kimi Raikkonen Brilliance. On the wet he's as great as Verstappen, Schumacher and Senna. His drives on Spa (Belgium) are Masterclasses. It's weird he only became world champion once. Could have been 10. One of the best F1 drivers ever. His 2005 Monaco Quali run, was from another planet. I guess if he would have dedicated himself more to just F1 instead of going dirtbiking in his spare time, he could have been the new Schumacher. The way he overtakes Shumacher right before diving into Eau Rouge (one of the craziest fast corners in the world) is also on a level I think even Verstappen hasn't reached yet. Overtaking someone at Eau Rouge is crazy anyway. Doing it to schumacher,...TWICE,... is just mindblowing. (2004 + 2012) There's an Eau Rouge overtake compilation that you might find interesting to react to. ruclips.net/video/fNcu2HDrYD0/видео.html&ab_channel=MXCN_F1 As former race driver I can assure you it's a very scary corner. Trying not to fly out of it is such hard work. The speed the F1 cars go trough it, is something I really can't comprehend. They pull 4G at allmost 190 miles/h . On TV it's hard to see how special it is. According to many F1 drivers it's the most amazing corner out there. Not only in the F1 season, but in the history of motorsport. Hey Bram, fellow ex driver here too! The ruclips.net/video/SnOOqY8huvA/видео.html&ab_channel=FORMULA1 actually made me cry. I have been racing in Spa only 4 times. Eau Rouge - Raidillon was so scary! Going trough there trying not to lift the pedal is just sick. The first time I was there, I was really surprised about the elevation. Like Fernando said,...you can't see on TV just how mad it is. If there is one track I really would like to drive on again, it's Spa. What a track!

The boat, steering wheel and drink bottle a lot of people have recommended you watching in the comments and there is an animated one about his career aswell called (Kimi Raikkonen animated narrated by himself.if you get a chance there are a lot of Daniel Riccardo funny moments too it could end up being a good little compilation or series that you could make if you wanted to start doing driver's press conference's and funny moments because there are a few of them and it could also give you and others a bit of an insight to the drivers. Thanks bro! That is basic Finnish "small talk". Everybody loved/loves the "Ice Man". He did exactly what he wanted, especially here in Finland. Basically he broke every rule in his contract. He drove/drives everything and anything that goes fast. Snow mobile racing, 4 wheelers, he officially competed on WRC and other Rallies when he had his gap year, Nascar in different categories, DTM, Touring cars you name it...But his "public persona" is totally different compared to his normal "relaxing with the guys" persona. He is so hilarious and funny and friendly and always pulls some crazy stunts. He is a legend here in Finland and even more legendary are the stories what happens when he engages himself with the other Finnish National "hobby"! Any guesses? 😍😍🤩🤩Many times it involves "the Karaoke Bar" in Helsinki.

    G'Day Ian, Kimi was straight down the line, it wasn't the engineers, owners or sponsors sitting behind the wheel of those cars, it was him, the driver who was risking his life dancing around the other juggernauts out on the track every week or two. In my opinion that gives him every right to speak to them with complete abandon. As for the media, take a step back, these drivers are averaging laps of tracks like Monza in excess of 260 kmh or 160 mph in their chosen profession. The majority of the media have never exceeded 100 mph on a controlled track, they have no idea of the mental and physical stresses imparted on a professional race car driver of any sort, let alone an F1 driver. Get the cameras and microphones out of their nostrils, give them some space and the respect they deserve. After you've taken your pretty photos drive your Prius back to your office at the posted speeds and brag about the challenging day you had getting a photo of an arsehole F1 driver.
