Mika Häkkinen was kind of like Räikkönen. He had 2 championships also a national F1 hero. He had some funny moments too. The man had a Water fight with Ferrari in a press conference. And btw Finns are not so silent as they say. Finns talk more with friends and when theyre relax, but also know they don't Need to talk all the time

Dude! Kimi is an F1 WDC & and arguably one the greatest talents that sport will ever see. Between 2003-7 he was the fastest guy on the planet bat none! But also the unluckiest with car failures. His nickname is the “Iceman” because of his chilled nature & its tattooed in his forearm. Its very ironic given the high speed high profile sport. But he is a rare Super honest straight forward no bs guy that did everything his way in a very political sport. One Of a kind for sure!

We Finns cannot handle any kind of fake image, pretending, etc. We don't understand why others do it. Russians are quite similar. When faking is demanded, we avoid it often by blanking. Kimi, as a not a very verbal person, found a way to make it his 'trade mark'. Every Finn completely understands him and smiles.

Kimi is the archetype of the Finnish guy, that’s how people are here, but he’s taken it to the extreme. He’s an icon, people all over love him for his chilled attitude. I think there even was some kind of poetry book somehow based on things he’s said …

Kari Hotakainen 's book The Unknown Kimi Räikkönen (Siltala), publis, describes how Räikkönen was involved in a bicycle accident at the age of five, which left an indelible mark..
If you want to know more about Kim as a person the more you read the book, I recommend. Kimi came from rather modest circumstances, as a child he even had an inner toilet. Why Kimi got into formula 1 was that he impressed with his speed, not his money.

Yrs ago Finnish media was harassing Kimi about his lifestyle, hes says... only my mother can tell when me when things go crazy. Something like that. Anyway brilliant. Listens only when his mother has an opinion! Awesome 👍

In my experience most Finnish car mechanics, like he is, are like that. Except perhaps they aren't Formula 1 World Champions, multimillionaires and forced to take part in PR events.
Sometimes it's difficult for foreigners to understand Finns that are like Kimi.
And I am not a Finn like Kimi, but just yesterday I had an argument about facts with somebody and then this person outside of the argument with this specific person wanted to talk about whether he cared about facts or not.
Facts don't care about anybody's emotions so why should I care about somebody's emotions regarding facts, because they are completely irrelevant. Who wins the champion. The person who has the most points.
