As an employer, I can tell you that it's true. Population is not skilled enough to work in service sector, and they don't want to work in manufacturing, which is the backbone of the nation. They only want Gajjar ka halwa(government jobs). Such attitude will lead us no where. At core, we need to glamourise manufacturing jobs, like we do with service sector jobs. How? By incentivising content creators. Who will fund it? Manufacturing companies. But why? May be because government will incentivise them to do it. Just a thought.

Great video! As an instructor from Nepal, I totally agree that outdated curricula are a major factor in unemployability. It's not just about updating what's taught but also how we test students. Current exams focus too much on memorization instead of practical skills, which leaves students unprepared for real-world jobs.

As an engineer and worked in manufacturing industry, two govt jobs. My observation are 1. Skilled People leaving the country because of lack of opportunity and reservation, 2. Fresher demand salary equal to people with 3 to 5 year experience, 3. People want to work only in job in which they had degree in or they sit in home and wait till they get suitable job, 4. Addition to lack of skill they don't want to learn new out side college. 5 . Especially girls get degree only for marriage purpose
About your 3rd point, what is the point of getting a degree in a particular field if I have to just find a job, whether related to my field or not. I have a Bachelor's degree in IT, so isn't it fair for me to look at jobs in the IT field rather than applying in Sales or anything else? Jobs experience that are not related to my field will be of no help. If I have to work just for the sake of earning money, I can apply for a janitor role instead of a web developer.

questions - is it unemployment or underemployment? IMO, many steps which can be taken here. i am sure these are already in the works 1. Move youth away from city based employment - increase employment is local sectors such as organic farming, agroforestry, fisheries to name a few 2. Expand the traditional arts and crafts sector and create cooperatives to market goods 3. Skills/vocational training as opposed to degrees 4. Review of educational system - take heed of traditional flexible educational system which was based on skills/vocational training 5. There are always limited jobs available in ANY company - encourage small and medium sized businesses such as small farms and businesses 6. Develop infrastructure in rural areas to increase rural employment and decrease load on cities 7. Develop speciality small business for production of biodegradable goods and natural fibres

No , the govt job obsession is the main reason for unemployment . For ex - during the 80s , China already stopped 'lifelong employment guarantee system ' for govt jobs . Almost all the hiring is done on contract basis . From 2003 , China even started hiring civil servants on contract basis . That's why almost nobody prepares for govt jobs in china .

The problem isn't the student, it's the education system, there's still a lot of talented people in India like a lot, but the system needs to channel the talent to its right place not filter out students by marks.

Problem 1: Low Wages and Skill Gap Issue: IT companies demand skilled engineers but offer low salaries (15k/month). Comparison: Security guards earn more than software engineers. Consequence: Students lose interest in private sector jobs. Problem 2: Population Growth vs. Job Creation Issue: Uncontrolled population growth strains job creation efforts. Solution: Focus on population control alongside job creation. Problem 3: Reservation System vs. Meritocracy Issue: Reservation system in education and jobs may not prioritize merit. Desired System: Meritocratic system alongside support for underprivileged groups. Problem 4: Lack of Government Investment in Public Services Need: More government schools, hospitals, and metro systems. Benefit: Increased employment opportunities. Problem 5: Corruption in Education System Example: Universities with good infrastructure lack qualified teachers due to political appointments. Consequence: Outdated curriculum and unmotivated students. Solution: Merit-based appointments for professors. Problem 6: Government's Role in Job Creation and Education Argument: Government has a responsibility to ensure employment and improve the education system. Criticism: The speaker feels the government is not doing enough.

Its high time for educational reforms for the nation. The new education policy has been launched but its yet to be implemented. We need to thoroughly revise the curriculum of all the streams from STEM and arts and commerce as well. There has to be a cohesive blend of theory and practical knowledge. There have to be discussions on the curriculum between the teachers and the students as there used to be during vedic times. Assignments given to students have to be challenging and complementary to the course work taught in the institutions. India needs to wake up about this asap.
The way I see it, the most important thing India needs is a good environment. One should be prioritizing the quality of output, that is the quality of the student above any and all factors. We must enable him to have basic skills to navigate the world, allow him to specialize quickly and dynamically as well as provide other skills he may fall back on in case the job market in the field of his interest is not good. Point is, one must create a system that has and promotes good quality and is truly dynamic and accommodating.

There is misinformation. Let me talk about some of the points related to "unemployability". 1. It is true that engineers do not have the necessary skills to do engineering jobs. But these skills are supposed to be taught by companies. In India, not many companies are willing to hire fresh graduates and train them. Everybody wants fully trained engineers who are masters in everything. How is that even possible? Even for the intern roles, they expect students to know everything. 2. I did my post-graduation abroad. In Europe almost every major company has graduate programs where they train engineers first, we do not have such a system in India. There are a few MNCs who have graduate programs but they mostly pick the creamy layers, we do not have companies willing to train the graduates. 3. As companies are not willing to hire and train graduates, therefore, the graduates are only left with one choice- to pay money to learn skills. Those who have money will succeed in their lives, and those who don't have money will struggle. 4. Now if someone is wondering why students cannot learn skills in their universities, this is because of the fact that many of these engineering tools are very expensive. The price of one license can be in the range of 5-6 lakhs. Now imagine spending 5-6 lakhs to train one student. Only top government universities such as IITs can afford to have licenses for these tools. Private universities cannot afford this. Not every engineering tool has a free student version, this all stopped after COVID-19. Now, everybody is riding the Capitalism wave. It is all about making money. Pirated software does not contain all the functions. Piracy is not an option in 2024. 5. I am a PhD student at IIT and let me tell you even the IITs do not have the licenses of some of the major engineering software. So, how do you expect students to have skills without spending money? 6. Even in my foreign university, which is one of the best in the world, students had to spend money from their own pockets to purchase the licenses for the software that were not provided by the university. In India, we cannot afford this. But at least in foreign countries, companies are willing to train people. In India, every company wants fully trained people which is ridiculous. 7. Technologies are evolving at a rapid pace. Industries continue to shift to new tools. Anyone who graduated before the change becomes outdated. How would you integrate these graduates into the working population if companies are not willing to train them? 8. Foreign countries train their engineers because they have a manufacturing industry. They innovate things. In India, we only copy things. We do not have a manufacturing industry where innovations happen. That's why it is pointless to train fresh graduates and integrate them into the company. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Mahindra, Zoho.... what work are they doing?
You are absolutely correct. Besides these corruption, partiality , recommendation and referrals made it difficult for a good person to get a reputed job.
@@ZeeshanAkhtar-x1e It is not just about salaries or jobs. There are no strong labor laws in India. Companies exploit their employees. Corporations do not want employees to have personal lives. It's like either you take a job and get exploited or remain unemployed; if you take a job then you must say sayonara to your life. And by the way, you should never expect to get paid for your extra time. Out of these unemployed people, you will also find people who just do not want to work for corporations. Like me!! I was working at a company and the company CEO called me at 10 pm and asked me to go to the office for some work as he was busy with his family. The next day I decided to f*ck this $hit and resigned.
I agree with you on this. But I think there is another aspect. The way new skills new technology etc are so rapidly coming into force, many students, many employees get overwhelmed with so much to learn. They learnt something today and within 3 months something updated will come. This makes lots of them tired as well, plus they see the competition and how some people are so good at learning fast which demotivates them. continuous learning is important but the fast pace to keep up with every new update takes a toll. Even the Indian education system should let go of the colonial system and merge Vedic/Gurukul education with modern education.
You Employer's also want Gajjar ka Halwa sir. You Employer's publish a job ask for fresher candidate but inside you need min. 2..3 years experienced candidate.

As an engineer and worked in manufacturing industry, two govt jobs. My observation are 1. Skilled People leaving the country because of lack of opportunity and reservation, 2. IMO, many steps which can be taken here. i am sure these are already in the works
1. Move youth away from city based employment - increase employment is local sectors such as organic farming, agroforestry, fisheries to name a few
2. Expand the traditional arts and crafts sector and create cooperatives to market goods
3. Skills/vocational training as opposed to degrees
4. Review of educational system - take heed of traditional flexible educational system which was based on skills/vocational training
5. There are always limited jobs available in ANY company - encourage small and medium sized businesses such as small farms and businesses
6. Develop infrastructure in rural areas to increase rural employment and decrease load on cities
7. Develop speciality small business for production of biodegradable goods and natural fibres

Issue: IT companies demand skilled engineers but offer low salaries (15k/month).
Comparison: Security guards earn more than software engineers.
Consequence: Students lose interest in private sector jobs.

Issue: Uncontrolled population growth strains job creation efforts.
Solution: Focus on population control alongside job creation.

Issue: Reservation system in education and jobs may not prioritize merit.
Desired System: Meritocratic system alongside support for underprivileged groups.
Problem 4: Lack of Government Investment in Public Services
Need: More government schools, hospitals, and metro systems.
Benefit: Increased employment opportunities.
Problem 5: Corruption in Education System
Example: Universities with good infrastructure lack qualified teachers due to political appointments.
Consequence: Outdated curriculum and unmotivated students.
Solution: Merit-based appointments for professors.
Problem 6: Government's Role in Job Creation and Education
Argument: Government has a responsibility to ensure employment and improve the education system.
Criticism: The speaker feels the government is not doing enough.
i think reservation should be made by economy that is poor people will get financial aid in ug programmes, not in pg whereas for population there is only long term solution that population control bill

I think it is the problem with our mindset regarding upskilling. We keep on hearing that your life will be set after 10th, after graduation, after job their is no need to worry about anything this NEED TO BE CHANGED
You are partially right, comparing India with china and japan is not right bcz India mainly have jobs which r of the nature of backend work whereas china and japan has core indusrty work india don't have it. and china is a sort of dictatorship and japanese are very hard working and not wasting their youth running behind government jobs
Indian youth is unemployed because some of us can't even speak basic English or form a sentence even after getting a degree and secondly everything is multinational & there are hardly any Indian origin companies
how the fuck is english even relevant ? most chinese and japanese can't speak english either but china and japan are still doing great. angreeji bolnne se naukri nahi milega agar skill nahi h to unless koi linguistic job ki baat kare

So many startups are emerging employing so many people.
Most people don't have basic english speaking skills, no computer knowledge, behavioral issues thats why they don't get selected in interviews.

I left one good company and joined a mid scale unknown company but they told they will give good salary and i got offer letter too but even after 2 months they didn't even provide me single ruppess and when I asked them in harsh manner, they terminated me with fake drug case,

Exactly 💓
The way I see it, the most important thing India needs is a good environment. One should be prioritizing the quality of output, that is the quality of the student above any and all factors. We must enable him to have basic skills to navigate the world, allow him to specialize quickly and dynamically as well as provide other skills he may fall back on in case the job market in the field of his interest is not good. Point is, one must create a system that has and promotes good quality and is truly dynamic and accommodating.
@@anjanavabiswas8835 I agree for that infrastructure development in the education sector is required. Teacher to student ratio is terrible as of now in the country. For making a good learning and job environment, quality of education, quantity of good teachers, infrastructure for research should increase multifold. Focus should be on the cognitive and personality development skills of the students rather than rote learning.

great work...... literally u deserve my salute .......... please make a video on this topic "the complete solution for unemployability in India"
Our education system was formed to produce government clerks but now that government posts are so low this system is proving to be a cancer for Indian youth. The old syllabus and lack of innovation has made the situation even worse ... We need the latest technology for our daily needs but our foundation is still based on a 100 year old curriculum
the problem is not in iits or aiims or in top institutes, the problem is that average indian college teaches outdated syllabus that's why people say to take cse in tier 2 and tier 3 colleges as in cse we can update ourselves easily but for other branches like eee, ece, civil etc they need well equiped labs and updated syllabus which these colleges don't even fullfill.
Exactly . Upskilling is the necessity now .
Even an average university in the US is better than all the IITs combined.
Kab se wait kar raha tha apke videos ka 🥺🥹
As a Civil Engineer owning a design firm it's really hard to find the fresher engineer with basic engineering and mathematical knowledge
Awesome brother, You are Intelligent 🧠
Rhis video needs to go viral. Please forward this to all the groups you have access to(if possible)
Also another point is that many of these companies are paying way too less for high cost of living cities like Bangalore, Mumbai etc.
A very sensible answer.
You are absolutely correct.
Besides these corruption, partiality , recommendation and referrals made it difficult for a good person to get a reputed job.
As the situation will continue to get worse, companies will be able to hire resources at even lower prices or salaries
That will help each student learn every skill and then focus on whichever interests more
Honestly speaking... right now the job market(specially in IT sector ) is pretty difficult for fresher.. I was searching for a job in kolkata for months and apart from bpo jobs..
