I have heard pipes played in The US (be kind, I am from The US), never liked them. But, damn when heard them played correctly, I am loving them! I have Googled, and RUclipsd everything posted by The Black Watch. It is stirring, and heartwarming, yet melancholy. Thank you for sharing! Love from The US!
My late father, William Nicol was a Sergeant in the 1st Battalion, The Black Watch, (RHR), 51st (Highland) Division, his brother, James Nicol was a Sergeant in the 5th Battalion, The Black Watch. He was wounded and captured at CÄEN after D-Day. He finished his war on the "March Of Death" when the POWs were forced to walk back to Germany before the victorious Russian Armies.
I prefer this over a top civvy band anyday...the lower pitched chanters are a wonder to the ear..proper tempo, spectacular marching that the civvy bands could only dream of...well done lads.
Nice to see a few Young versions of the likes of PM Mick Elder DM Brian Alexander and Allistair Duthie, Great Sound ! Nice Tunes ! Especially the Devils Jockstrap,Lol !
Had my DNA done found out 3% of my body carried Scottish Blood. Loved the bagpipers since I was a little girl, family name Alexander. Yes Scotland Forever!!!!

I feel that I need to share a bit of news about the beautiful piece of music titled Heilan' or Highland Laddie. I have always loved this Scottish piece of music. However, I have heard a version that I think has been corrupted by a few Canadian Highland regiments. When I heard it being played by a Canadian pipe band, it almost made me ill or turn my stomach. It's as if the music was being played upside down. One of the regiments that played it in a corrupt way was Ottawa, Canada's Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa. I felt that I had to share this concern. 😟
Malcolm Coghill the drum corp incl drum major are wearing the black watch tartan kilts, the pipers also have black watch tartan bag covers and the pipe corp wear the royal Stewart tartan kilts when in No 1 dress.
For overseas viewers, the footage at 0:22 is misleading, that's Stirling Castle, regimental home of The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, and not in traditional BW country - likewise the Wallace Monument shown immediately beforehand, only a few miles away. Neither is Fort George at 1:43 in Watch territory.
The ending of this is bizarre. Why are the Black Watch in Culross? Why are the streets in Culross deserted? Why cobbled streets in Culross. Why no cars or people? Is this a film set or a real place? I think we should be told.
Bill Neice More fierce than the Gurkhas that handed England their testicles in the early 1800's? :) Is it maybe people from the UK don't like to talk about that? j/k! I like the UK, Gurkhas and bag pipes. I love the fact that you see a lot of youngsters playing including quite a few girls.
The black watch regiment in Scotland has a sister regiment in Canada know as the Canadian black watch, but this is the regiment from Scotland. And Canada does have for the most part very similar traditions to Scotland and the rest of the U.K. since it was once part of the British Empire, for all those who seem to have a bad misunderstanding of everything, here you go.^
Just beautiful
Amazing!!!!!!

Pure Class The Black Watch RHR Pipes & Drums.
Bloody good show lads -- Very professional.
Well done to the bass player...marching down a steep, cobbled street, in steel heeled brogues whilst carrying a bass drum is a feat in itself! :)
Had my DNA done found out 3% of my body carried Scottish Blood. Loved the bagpipers since I was a little girl, family name Alexander. Yes Scotland Forever!!!!
No DNA test can show that you are x percent Scottish. Those are gimmicks used by the testing companies.
Edohiguma Bullshit, as if Scottish nationalists would consider anyone Asian or black born and bred in Scotland “Scottish”.
Hey I like these " pipes & drums " 👍.... They played different songs 🎶 than what I'm use to hearing ! Yaaaas 💕💕 Greetings & Love from America 🇺🇸

Thats it ;)
I’m wondering what tartan the bandsmen are wearing. Doesn’t look like usual tartan of Black Watch.
Brian Johns royal Stewart
No wonder the English occupiers banned the pipes as an offensive weapon of war !
Fuck the sweaties!
What's the first song ?
The Black Watch goes back more than 300 years...............
The Black Watch was and still is one of the most respected and feared military units that ever took to the field in combat. Then and now.

It's music, not politics. Racism in any shape or form is distasteful. And kindly refrain from such uncivilised language.
