I own a 1988 Chevy military step van w/6.2 Detroit Diesel and TM400 auto tranny. It has 95000 miles on it. As soon as I got it I eliminated the glow plug gadget and replaced it with a 350A universal starter relay controlled by a horn button so glow plugs cannot be left energized when running. At 26 years, the last glow plug failed and all were replaced. The OEM starter wore out the ring gear before I got it and, on advise of a local auto electric expert, it was replaced with a geared Japanese starter that has started it for 13 years perfectly. These cheap mods completely eliminate grinding at 20F after 15 seconds of manual glow to start instantly. The only other failure since 1994 was a leaky radiator replaced with one with plastic ends and the vacuum pump for the tranny, which shifts so smoothly its almost hard to feel under normal conditions. Power brakes run off a secondary power steering pump. At 38 yrs old, I wouldn't hesitate driving it to Alaska... I'm told the military 6.2D has much heavier block and components..??
I have a 99 24v Cummins. It’s lived in Tennessee for most of its life, but it’s seen Canadian and Alaskan winters. The only time it ever started like these was when fuel was being sprayed on the engine bay from a huge hole. Why? Is my Diesel exceptionally good, or are these really bad?
I like the Cummins intake heater. It's usually a square little toaster type of a grid heater - it's just works. No Cummins pickup should take more then a few seconds of cranking to start if the grid heater is wired into the start circuit.
Et du coup j'ai un peu de mal à piger le fonctionnement de votre système 😅 You can of course reply in English, I was just too tired to full type it in English 😭 Merci !
Each state has different kinds of license plates? Which in most states have 2 plates ( 1 in front and the 2 in the back). And other states they have one plate? Pretty much where you live and when your are traveling to other states. It’s pretty much an ID for the police. In the United States, we have 50 states. Which each state represents their unique plates. You can also modify your plate but it’ll cost you between $100-$250 per plate. But standard plates $40 dollars.

They invented block heaters
Just imagine … you forget to plug your block heater in the night before and now you have to cold start your truck to get into work on time lol
Not every one is able to use block heaters
All I'm saying is that the Cummins didn't seem to have much trouble
I mean....I drive a piddly hyundai. It doesn't take me 2 minutes to start it on a winter morning
Give it some damn aero start
What battery do they use, can't do that in forida
I wish i can smell the smokes
Same it just smells so good
I do each time I start my powerstroke ❤
You couldn’t give me diesel vehicle. No way

My international 6.9 is such a cold blooded pig
@@remiphillipsreally? My 7.3 does alright in the cold. I'd love to see the OAT on these starts. I was saying prayers for most of these starters 🤣
Nice trucks

Any license plate is fine as long as it’s not extremely offensive.
