Fun Fact:
This scene was changed in Japan since the game was made to appeal to kids. The electric rods were changed into sticks that would tickle snake when they touch him. The logic behind that was that Snake was trained to withstand pain, but not to withstand tickling. So the sound of snake screaming in pain at the electricity was changed to uncontrollable laughing instead.

In terms of framing, dialogue, and art design, this has to be the best torture sequence in the franchise. The delivery of their respective lines along with the sound design makes you feel the pain just by watching it.
You can hear the venom (heh) in her voice after Snake talks shit about the AI Pod.

Haven't you learned anything from anime? The Japanese dub is always bizarre as shit. The English dub can actually write dialogue and assign cast members appropriately.
Yeah, in Japan it's censored and they use ''laughing rods'' instead of electricity because of ratings.
this part was hard as hell. I had to do all the torture sequences, my curiosity screwed with me. my hand was numb for days.

@@cssbr3191 Hayter was just a better choice. Unlike Sutherland, he actually demonstrated a wide range of emotions through subtle shifts in vocal range. And I could buy that David Hayter could be both humorous and passionate. When Sutherland did Venom, he always sounded like someone just ran over his puppy.

Use your index finger, if you do that rapidly while holding the Vita(or controller) you can mash it down real fast, just make sure that your not holding it with both hands, use1hand to hold it, 1 hand to mash it! Hope this helps

@@Superdarkcloud666 not that hard tbh in the first game it was gas and fire, but in mgs it was with ocelot in getting either a good or bad ending, in mgs2 Raiden gets choked by his adopted dad in mgs3 depending on how you've built snake you get decked even more cause electro man know you can take it, ya get you eye shot out (which ya then play southpaw for the rest of the game)... plus the river of the dead, and in mgs4 the microwave hall (now not just electricity but fire as well, and peace walker is just the icing on the cake....

You'd think that that's just the same HRGHBLHRBLGHRBL clip over and over, but as it turns out, Kojima forced David Hayter to do that over and over again for each individual cutscene.

I remember I had to stop playing for 2 weeks to let my fingernails grow long enough to help me button mash for this sequence on the XBOX 360. Those buttons were too smooth for button mashing and my finger would slip constantly. Terrible sequence in an otherwise good game

Only the first 3 are mandatory, the other 6 can be avoided if you escape fast enough
Just play other MGS especially 5.There is no annoying scene like this.This scene is just bad programming by Kojima's team
