Cheers Rick for the kind compliment. That's exactly what my intentions were with this bike. Gentle resto keeping the original paint and sourcing the missing bits.
Definitely...those acorn mags did fit the grifter forks, I wonder if skyways will, I'll have to check. Can you even still buy grifter conversion forks !!
Not a problem, happy I could help. Hold onto your dream, keep it alive. Custom bmx grifters have been done. There's a chap on the Facebook forums that did one. He may have used longer forks. Definitely achievable but in the format I showed probably not.
@ no fella just an admirer of old school classics I had a Haro freestyle , gyro bars 🫡 Burner with mags Red rock freestyle that I wish I I still had mate that mother had z rims bend out of shape 👊🏼love a BMX brother
@jonnicklison449 I'm with you bud... The original owner said he would get involved in the comments. I love burners, always on the hunt for an affordable skyway or mongoose, sounds like you had some rapid old bmx's. I bought today the cheapest old skool BMX, and jn theory probably the worst.. it's a survivor from the 80's, that's coming up next
@@dealermike1331 fella I just been thinking of another I had for getting to school on Halfords ,, parents got me a Rayleigh gold burner post if you get your hands on one for restoring love to see 🙏🏼👊🏼
Hard to say.. I might sell both grifters, clear them out of the way . Just focus on a lovely collection of burners. But then again I'll happily move it on
Hi mike,
It turned out great, that patina is just great, now it looks like an original survivor that has been well looked after, great job mike😎👍👍

Thanks very much. Mk1 super burner next. They'll make a nice little line up
I did a grifter conversion in tha 1980’s. They did special grifter conversion forks. I would love to do another grifter BMX conversion👍

It's amazing how many of these old Raleigh Burners, Grifters and Choppers have survived. 😮 What's the plan now it's finished, keep or sell? 😀

@dealermike1331 It's always good to have a little collection of Burners. 👍
