You're pretty spot on. Obviously it all depends on invidual needs but water is absolutely key. Power is reasonably easy to sort out these days however water is still finite. Happy new year. Cheers

Good tips…pretty accurate I would suggest. You are spot on regarding power, the more you have the more you want to use it.

I reckon an external input for solar panels is ab absolute must. Solar power is so inconsistent and unreliable, and being able to hook up portable panels/blankets adds so much. The water pump is a fantastic idea, I've used a boat bilge pump from BCF for years for refilling from a drum, your system gives another whole level of options tho.
    Brilliant 👏

Agree with what you are saying. I have a composting toilet and it has made a big difference for staying off grid. My limitation is water and rivers are far between in WA. So I got a 100L bladder from Fleximake. It is normally folded up in a box with a pump similar to yours. I can fill it up and it sits in the rear foot well so it is not going to roll around when bringing a load in from wherever you can get fresh water.

New to your channel. Sorry if this has been asked before but do you use creek water for drinking? What filtration do you use? I grew up on the land but you still needed to be careful with river water in most places.

No, we have seperate water for drinking, we just use the river water for washing etc

Great question, for #2’s it goes down below, for #1’s it goes to a bin on the side

Compost toilets are waaayy better. The only people that don’t like them, haven’t tried one.
