@@verebellus yeah I’ve seen her at the Kinefinity booth! Kinefinity makes awesome cameras I wish the would produce more and get them out to RUclipsrs and documentary directors. Seems like it is hard to get their cameras
For anyone complaining about them not being full frame. Most cameras don’t fast enough readouts for anamorphic shooting in motion in full frame. So Super 35 will help with rolling shutter. And they’re really small. Having full frame anamorphics, with autofocus motors, even at 1.33x would make them much larger.
Pretty sure there are more cameras that are full frame that have faster readout than super 35. Which cameras were you thinking of that are super 35 and fast? Sony Fx6 / Fx3 are faster than the fx30
@@VariTimo Ah maybe I misunderstood. Just going by what you said “Most cameras don’t fast enough readouts for anamorphic shooting in motion in full frame. So Super 35 will help either rolling shutter.” It sounded like you were implying that Super 35 has better rolling shutter over full frame lol
The real one missing is micro four thirds, for the Panasonic gh7 wich has good autofocus now, very good compatibility with anamorphic lenses, and image stabilization for anamorphic lenses. And now with the arri log this lens can he a rela deal pared with the gh7.

@@nzxt84 bro the lumix S5iiX can shoot in aps C mode. And Bro I just got an anamorphic aps lens and it literally covers the full frame sensor, after you add stabe it’s covered. So yeah it can work.
Posted on the other coverage of this. How the hell do you launch anamorphic without an L Mount as Blackmagic and Panasonic are hands down the best options for anamorphic shooters? I have the Sirui Saturn and am looking to move to something with a little different of an image and some barrel distortion. What are you all thinking over there?
Now this is what I've been waiting for! I would prefer less sharp so desqueezing 16:9 is just fine for what I do. People act like you're going to put your indie film on an iMax or that Netflix certified cameras are picked because they care about perfect 4K pixel peeping. This is just silly. Learn why you buy cinema cameras and how much money the camera operators charge then you'll understand.
No L mount when L mount has the best anamorphic capable cameras? Name an E, RF or Z mount camera with open gate and PDAF. Yeah there aren't any. In comparison, the L mount has the S5II, S5IIX and S9. And if single autofocus is sufficient, you have the Pyxis, BMCC6K FF, S1H, S1 and BS1H, all shoot 3:2 open gate. And all of these cameras also have in camera de squeeze for a large range of squeeze ratios. These are S35, so not quite as big a miss but I assume FF versions will be coming soon.
Fwiw with a 1.33x anamorphic lens, shooting 3:2 open gate only gives you a 2:1 aspect ratio. Usually people pair that squeeze factor with 16:9 sensors/record modes to get the 2.35:1 aspect ratio
@@Heini-v3j Well yeah, my point is that the claim that these lenses needed to be paired with a sensor that can shoot 3:2 open gate doesn't really hold weight for 1.33x anamorphics.

Why is this for S35 only when a majority of filmmakers who work in this budget range use FullFrame cameras? Apart from that WOOHOO 🔥 🔥 🔥 autofocus and native mounts 👍
I would prefer a T2.5 and a 1.65 squeeze factor to be honest. That being said, this lens is extremely exciting and I can't wait to see it being used and try it out myself on E mount and X mount cameras.

Yes that sharpness looks quite bad but it looks like an anamorphic that needs shimming. Without the right flange distance, anamorphics tend to get spherical aberration like that so they are much more sensitive to incorrect flange distance than spherical lenses. Many also found that the Remus lenses needed extra shimming out of the box to get sharp performance and avoid those strong abberations
We are happy to confirm that an L Mount version of this AF Anamorphic lens is coming up too!
