I've used a couple. Early on I was using Windows Live Movie Maker plus a converter to change the aspect ratio (early XF was in 4:3 and I wanted 16:9). Then I wanted more options so I bought Pinnacle Studio to put it all together. That's a great program. Making the clips is tedious and not fun! :)
I downloaded all the episodes in avi or mp4, can't remember which. Then you can cut them up as you like. It's a lot of fun to make, but very time-consuming. Totally worth it!
