- finally we played carno on gateway and it was frustrating. it will have a quite good life on the new map and as soon as we know the AI spots, there will be plenty of food, but, this session was mostly frustrating.

Devs had to add big insects, or other small animals like a mice to the sanctuarys, which give all three nutriens to carnivores 🐛
yeah, I guess the idea is that carni shall hunt juvie herbs there. but, that doesn't work if nobody is around

@@geschichtenmitherz I really like the idea of the sanctuaries. we have to see how it will turn out on the long run, tho. I'm quite positive tho
I wish they added back the Taco and Oro and also the Ava from Legacy, in my opinion it makes way more sense then a boar, goat, etc!

i believe that carno, all carnvores actually, should have a much slower food drain to help counter the stam change. since its really hard to prog around while having bad stam and at the same time fast food drain.
my biggest problem is not knowing the map. so, as soon as I know the ways and the AI areas, it should be pretty simple to get enough food, even with the bad stam. that said, I played ptera yesterday and it is really tough with the stam. if you want from the coast to the highlands, you have to make two stam breaks on the way up. each of it 5 minutes waiting ^^

exploiting AI and living off them? ruins the entire point of the game and completely removes any intensity and worry for survival
@@ExposedSkinn in my opinion there is no entire point of the game. that's what I love the most about sandbox games. you can choose your style and do your own thing

it is a survival game. if it doesn’t have a point, then balance itself wouldn’t be an issue but as we know it, it is.
@@ExposedSkinn it has no quests or missions, so, sandbox. in a survival setting, yes, but the story comes by us players. specially the isle community is very mixed. we have mates who want hardcore PVP, others would love as much realism as possible, others just play with their friends without rules (mixpack), others would love a peaceful PVE environment, some can't wait for humans and horror, some don't care about them at all and so on. even within one category, let's say PVP, you have very different opinions. some want utah to be able to 1vs1 a rex and others don't like that at all. I could go on and on.
we have thousands of players with hundreds of opinions about the game. so, in my opinion there is no entire point 'cause the isle has no entire community and also no rules.
what I don't get tho, why should balancing be part of survival? balancing is important to make fights fun. to survive you can always go for babus and juvies only. has nothing to do with the balance of the game.
6:13 I’m sorry but the small mass of compy’s spawning only to fall into the water gave me a bit of a laugh
yeah, the smile at the end of the scene was about those compys. when they fell into the water I wasn't sure what it was. after they were on land I also had to smile
Yeah I’ve been trying the gateway servers and they take a long time to load. And sanctuaries are often empty or packed. Which is weird. Anyway good video
I was hoping gateway will boost the performance, but, nope. these lags are still around and in general I've way more frame drops than on spiro. so, it got even worse ^^
Carno needs to grow arms so that it can grab a tree or a bush to prevent falling to its death. 😁

same frustrating thing for me when i play carno i always starve or fall off a cliff i havent grown one adult carno since the update after many tries but good to see u got there👍
yeah, carno doesn't seem to be an explorer but, once we know the teno spots, we should be good

thx mate ♥ oh yeah, I played ptera yesterday and the stam is really bad for ptera. was pretty boring to wait 5 minutes to get stam back every time you want to fly up a hill or even just a tree ^^

Gateway is one big strugle for me as a carno. Im starving because cant find reliable source of food even in migration zones, i dont see sh*t at night, cant kill ai tenos because they fight you back, breaking legs everytime and sudden fps drops are insane.
srsly? AI teno fights back? I met about 10 of them and they either ran away or stand still. I really hope they will all fight back someday and I hope we'll get omni and carno AI, too. there are also deer and boars around tho. so, we just have to find the spots like we did on spiro. in general I think it will be more easy to survive with carno. specially as soon as we know the map, the ways, the crossing points of players and the AI spots. I'm quite positive about the map design by now that said, I don't know the map good enough to have a final opinion.
about the performance tho, I am pretty disappointed, too. even more drops than spiro and these lags are still a thing :/
I've never been able to get a carno to adulthood, they feel like they're hard mode as far as the carnivores go!
the new AI spawn gives plenty of food. I was at the river delta with ptera today and there were boars and deer all over the place. after the christmas update it was a mess and really tough, but, I guess it should be more easy again :)
when i was playing gateway i was in sanctuary at night with baby dryo and baby cera scared me badly.
Then i escaped by falling off a cliff. then when my legs were broken baby beipi made 2nd call and killed me 😁

The first thing i do when i spawn in is looking for water. Because after the update there are a lot of frogs right next to the water. And they give a lot of food as a juvi. No nutrients of course but it gives you a great amount of time to look for nutrients

@@Gingerwalker. epidemicsounds has many good songs. but, I also need many songs. 460 videos with about 5-7 songs average are about 3.000 songs meanwhile as much as I hate it, but, I have to repeat songs more and more often :/
Delete your Config file, this will reset settings and may improve performance:
Open file explorer > put %localappdata% in the ADDRESS bar, press enter, then find The Isle folder (the isle game should NOT be running) then > Save folder then > Delete Config > restart game
Also restart the game after every graphic setting change for it to work properly

yeah, sorry, normally I turn up the game volume or lower the music to make you mates hear it, but, this time it was so quiet you could hardly hear it even without any music. it were footsteps, probably of that dryo or galli. the kind of footsteps you hear when they stop or kind of slide when they stop. if you know what I mean
Sanctuaries were possibly the worst idea the devs could've possibly come up with. More like troodon sanctuaries with room service that brings babies right to you!
doesn't troodon get attacked by bees? I was with ptera there and the bees ignored me. anyway, I ses the sanctuaries quite positive. nobody forces us to go there. it's more like a action zone for juvies with the chance of perfect diet as a herb. we can still get our diet like we did on spiro. by walking to the different plant areas
@@da.mombieother plants don’t give you diet in juvi stage, sadly. So it’s mandatory to go in sanctuaries, otherwise you’ll just stay as a baby for another hour :/

'cause plants which are on your diet give you nutrients like ever. so, as long as they didn't change that very recently, you don't have to go to the sanctuary. the devs are even thinking of giving us both symbols on the scent radar. sanctuary zone and migration zone.

Each time is a struggle just to survive and that thrill is insane
Ofc its not perfect, it definitely can take some more patches

yeah, I also enjoy the challenge the new map offers but, as soon as we know the ways and spawn areas, it will probably be even more easy to survive :/

Hate dying to glitches and bugs with every new update.
And I do not have the time to grow a dinosaur for 2-4 hours
New map is nice though, I guess.

@@shaxo5364 I dont, I stopped. I thought with the new update, it’d be relatively more fun and less buggy, therefore easier to grow something on the weekend, but alas, I was wrong.
More or less, I don’t have the time to sit and grow something over and over again to just die to bugs and glitches.
Ptera is so much fun on gateway, exploring the trees is so cool
I don't know. I played ptera yesterday and well, it's nice and also boring to explore. if you want to fly from the coast to the highlands, then you need two stam breaks. each of them means 5 minutes sitting still. I started to watch videos every time I had to refill stam. 'cause it was so boring in between.
Can’t really fly anywhere with the new stam regen it takes forever. Most Petra gameplay is just sitting now it sucks
@@benfrench9224 I agree. I don't have a big issue with the new stam in general. but, ptera is really annoying. 'cause you can't do anything. most others can at least z-walk. but, ptera is sitting on a tree for 5 minutes straight.
Ptera is a sitting simulator now😢it was my main on Spiro but now...
I have heard that gateway does have better frames but you need to reset the config so it is default settings and put on high graphics because it works better

I don't know. I played very badly. I had full stamina and my stomach wasn't even red. I should have charged it more often before I go in. don't know why I was so much in hurry ^^ anyway, at least it's nice to watch
@@da.mombie hey i always lose to dinos smaller than me on path of titans and even if you didn't win it was still good stuff like that happens alot when it comes to games like i know from a lot of trial and error when fighting in games and i still think you did a good job
@@countryguy981 thx mate ♥ I know about my skills and they didn't get better with age. so, in general I am fine with myself. BUT, I am the guy who always looks for bad things on my side. I am my biggest critic. I like that, this pushed me back in the days, to get better and try again. nowadays it doesn't push me anymore, but, it's still something I like. even if it makes me hate myself sometimes. but, not in a bad way, if that makes any sense
Carno is such a hit or miss for me, I love it but it’s such a shame stam can be so horrid at times. I love your skin though, nice vid again man! Hope you have a good one! :D
thx mate ♥ I can't say by now. my brain says it should be pretty easy to keep them alive with all the AI tenos around. my first experience was different tho. but, it was very often me running across the hills like there is no fall damage at all, so
@@da.mombie honestly I’ve never had a bigger enemy than the cliffs! It’s how I’ve always seemed to die as of late XD even when I start to slow down, I’ll end up slipping down a random mountain sometimes. I felt the pain with each crash and fall lol
@@alycat3624 carno is really brutal. it takes off like a plane but, you said it best. on spiro I died more often to cliffs than to mixpacker and hacker combined. they are my greatest enemy too and somehow I love that gateway follows that tradition even if it is very frustrating the moment it happens ^^

@@phnkcell710 oh, now I get it yeah, that's the good thing with written words. it's up to your own imagination. that's why I was always disappointed when I saw a movie of a book I read before. the imagination was mostly better than the movie
that river ended so strangely, where does all the water flow?? Looks like they had planned to continue it after that dam, but didn't for some reason? I really like all the elevation changes in the map, but I wish they had better pathways. A lot of them are so steep they're almost not viable to use
strange ending, isn't it? why no waterfall and let it end into the sea? like you said, looks like they planed it and stopped for some reason honestly, I have no idea about the pathways so far. I'm still very much in exploration mode and find new ways every time. there are for sure many more I haven't even discovered so far. so, can't say by now :/

I do have a question though, once Gateway has been out for a while and everybody has gotten used to the map, will you be doing nesting events again?

Bite faster mate on the ceras every seconds count , with the head and body damage they die much faster as every dinos , but the vomit animation took very long. The actual update is terrible to me , my PC never had a crash but after closing the isle i got the win 10 "blue death" due the very bad performance. Honestly now the Legacy is better , than the Evrima
I couldn't. I was stuck in animation. believe me, I hammered that mouse button pretty hard legacy always had a better performance, as it has way worse graphics. but yeah, I was expecting more from gateway in terms of the performance, too :/

Jesus, the performance is as shitty as it was on Spiro, nothing has changed. In fact, those fall damage deaths remind me of V3, in the worst way possible. I really thought the map would fix the game (for me), but no...
yeah, gateway seems to be even worse and those lags are still around. it's really disappointing in that regard :/

They ruined this game with gateway, I want to pvp pother players but instead I starve to death without seeing a soul. This game is so boring now on the new map
the map is new. nobody knows the best ways and places by now. this will settle in and we will end up with some hotspots again. when I started on spiro, the south pond was THE spot to go, if you wanted to PVP. the map changed and so did the hotspots and at the end it was northwest. many other places like the west or east were empty on spiro, too. right now people go to such places on gateway. 'cause they want to explore or just don't know where to go or where they even are. as soon as everyone knows the map, people will find their spots and some areas will be empty like they were on spiro. other areas will become hotspots again. for a very simple reason. players who like to PVP. you are not the only one and that's the reason we had those spots on every map so far. V3 was even worse than gateway when it comes to getting from A to B. yet there were spots like the twins and the great falls. everyone knew and if you wanted to PVP, then you always found people there. I'm pretty sure this will also happen to gateway. no matter how big the map is, people (or life?) will find a way
Completely out of touch devs making terrible decisions back-to-back. This game will never be balanced as long dondi is there.
I don't know, I see this very differently. in my opinion they do a good job and most people overreact to every change like it's the end of the world.
Mate you honestly have to stop running so much when on hills, you die so often of fall damage ;)

why should I play a herb if I need footage for the carno series? I play a herb in each of my herb series as I play every dino anyway not many people on? the server was full. it's just the new map we aren't familiar with yet. btw, herbs also die to fall damage

normally it should be even more easy. AI teno gives a lot of food. but, I ain't familiar with the map and the AI areas yet, so, yeah, right now it's challenging, which I also very much enjoy
i think the ai need to spawn on players were you need to go when this not changed
