    Hey man,
    Out of all the millions of guitarists on RUclips, you're the only one I bother subscribing to. Your playing is excellent. I would seriously love all the naysayers to even attempt to play in as wide a range of styles as you do. So keep up the good work.

    Usually I hate the sound of sweep picking, but in this style it really fits.

    Nice, I love seeing these moves up close..... thanks and I showed this to Jason tonight by the way. :)

    @cryan5280 these are arpeggios made out of 2 notes: the note that your index finger is the root note. let's say it is the note C. the note that your index finger is on is the perfect fifth of the root note, so it is G. your ring finger is only replicating the root note in another octave, it is C again.

  • @TerrorizerGrindspeed
    @TerrorizerGrindspeed 12 лет назад

    @cryan5280 no hes wrong, these are triadic arpeggios ( 3 notes per chord, the 1st, 3rd and 5th )

  • @supremoluminary
    @supremoluminary 13 лет назад

    @Kandurananda The detuning is a performance thing. The first chord is played as A min. Tuned down a whole step, that would sound as G-. So "Am" or "A-" or "A min" would be make sense for notation purposes, but "A5" doesn't adequately describe those arpeggios.

  • @cozkul
    @cozkul 12 лет назад

    @cryan5280 it means that all this awesomeness comes only from a power chord, only two notes. as long as the chord is same, only two notes from different octaves are being played.
    this is very useful to learn these arpeggios, because if you do, you can play them over any song or chord progression and they will still sound awesome. very useful to impress people, while doing something very simple (theoretically).

    You have free lessons all over youtube :) Now sweeping is a very hard technique to master. You must start out at an extremly slow tempo and play it all over till you have it down and then gradually increase the tempo. Usually when I get to the low or high E I use hammer-ons and pull-offs if there is more than 1 note involved. Hope this helped.

  • @jimmyleppard6
    @jimmyleppard6 12 лет назад

    it's great. first couple of arpeggios are 100% jason becker arps progression, I'm not sure about the last ones, but anyway, I love how you put some exotic ''spacey'' kinda arps at the end :) great work.

    It's quite interesting how you can just take 5 or 6 easy chords, break them down to arpeggios and play something awesome like this :D It's not as hard as you think to play something cool :3

    @GermanLehmann98 12 лет назад

    Yea i know, but i have found different ways of sweep picking over youtube and i dont know which 1 is the correct. When im going up, on the high e string, do i have to do an up stroke or a down stroke? or both? What about when im going down on the low e string? Sorry for all this questions but i cant seem to find a good lesson on youtube.

  • @dontdissheavymetal
    @dontdissheavymetal 13 лет назад

    hey man i tried playing the chords that were written on the screen but they are not correct.everything should be moved two steps down so its G,C,F,Cb,D#,H,D and the last one again G.i hope it will help someone.

    Hey man, im having problems to learn how to sweep picking so i was wondering if GMC has a free lesson for this. I have learnt 3 different ways of sweep picking, they were all wrong. I don't know how to sweep pick when i get to the high e string for example, or when im going down how to pick the low e string.
