Those weapons are meant to kill sinners not naturally born demons, even though they still can. Demons such as imps and hellhounds can be killed normally by anything.

Fun Fact: The “baby angel” interpretation of cherubs are not cherubs at all! They are known as putto. Real cherubs have two pairs of wings and four faces, one of a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle.
And they have infinite eyes and infinite wings.
