This was lots of fun to listen to, I’m fans of both you guys.
I like how Conan just pulled out the harmonic tremolo sound seamlessly from John's version.
Kidding aside, I saw an interview by Conan, where someone said something, and Conan yelled in response "Well don't tell them [audience] that!", followed by an authentic, from the gut, guffaw.
They both exchange laughter and immediately transitioned the interview back on track.
Conan subtly steered the interview into conversation for a second, got the interviewee to get out of there own head immediately by letting them know he was still with them and it kept the direction of the interview going exactly where it needed to go.
It happened so quickly!
Kaley Cuoco is right: he's a saver and that instinct was instructive for me growing up. Not in interviews, but with any teammate.
I picked that up from him and whoever taught him that.. well God bless'em.
I learned i can always preserve the dignity of others where possible and we're always grateful when someone does that for us.

the goal is to make the audience leave the show of comedy or music with satisfaction, I think that is their concern but I agree with you that people pleasers are bad most of the time
Not all people feel that way. I've heard many times people complain that they were disappointed in a concert because they didn't get to hear the hits. Imagine going to a Rolling Stones concert in 2020 where they only played their latest album. People would 100% be disappointed.
I prefer Mayer's music to his conversation. Man... was really looking forward to this... need to find other interviews bc he seems so full of himself.

Idk if it’s the political side of things that you’re mad at but even me, someone who likes trump and doesn’t like Biden, can say that he was spot on here.
