my grandfather's quarter acre section was demolished and three town houses were put up. the same thing happened to my childhood home after I moved. it's like this all over Auckland now, and the new apartment complex style gentrification is just so soulless. it's not like these homes were anything startling to look at, and they definitely had flaws, but the modern homes don't have any personality by comparison...
